DD1 (just turned 6) is a very timid child. On Thursday she has her booster vax scheduled. If I tell her early, I'm afraid she's going to freak out and spend all of tomorrow worried and work herself up into a bit of a tizzy by the time we go to the pedi. But I also don't feel it's fair to not give her any warning. I'm thinking maybe tell her Thursday am before we go so she has a bit of time to let it sink in but not enough to worry herself sick? Thoughts? Ideas?
I'm finally starting to feel like summer is coming. We got coupons for Marble Slab in the mail yesterday. And the sun has shone for like 3 days straight. I'm just waiting for the hollyhocks in front of my old house to bloom.
scorpioscuba that's scary! I think sharing your family history would definitely be important now that you see a connection and I'd investigate further.
We have a glimpse of spring here again too and it's glorious! It's also $1 jimmy johns today 4-8 so I will be dragging the kids out for that. Yum!! I got up a cycle. Class this morning and my legs are jello. I need to start preparing for trip on Friday.

I'm pretty much only doing the most mindless tasks possible today and listening to podcasts all day. I'm obsessed with "Stuff You Missed in History Class". I've found my sweet spot is 30 minute podcasts. The longer ones I tend to get bored with before they are over.
Are diaper changes and getting into the car seat a herculean effort these days? The drama!
My new favorite (Read: LEAST) is when I put him in the carseat and he immediately attempts to launch himself over the other side of it and out of my reach.
dizzycooks M just lays down on the floor when we say it's time for a diaper change. And she doesn't fight the car seat. Our current issue is when we drop off and pick up S from school. She squirms to be put down the second we take her out of the car, and tries to run off with the big kids to play. Little miss independent
It is not as nice out as I was expecting. I need a hoodie or long sleeves shirt or something. It's the darn wind that's throwing it off. Gotta love the prairies.

Can she teach J this?!? I still use the changing pad and buckle him in. He is still able to execute a perfect toddler death roll. I try to distract him by giving him toys, but that only works some of the time.

I just realized that DD3 is well into the age when DD1 and DD2 were horrible about diaper changes and so far so good. DD2 was a little later at it than DD1, though, so maybe DD3 will be even later yet.

She just really likes getting her diaper changed. I think because it involves getting dressed lol. She's a weirdo.

We went through a phase of challenging diaper changes. She is mostly fine now. Is this where I admit I never ever used the buckle on the changing pad? In fact, with DD I just cut it off. 😵
So far she is fine with the car seat. I remember challenges with DS when he was around this age though.
M is cranky. On the bright side, H actually gave me advanced notice that he's going to be home tonight. I think it was only so I'd know he'd be here for supper though.
My PSA for the day... Apple replaces screens for $129.
I am officially broke, but I'm alive. New screen happening tomorrow.
I replaced mine at a store in the mall for $99. And ever since the proximity sensor hasn't worked. Soooooo annoying. I wish I had kept my Genius Bar appt. 😭
I never used the changing pad buckle either. I think he would just pull himself off with the pad strapped to him. Lol. He's usually pretty good about it now.
@crimsonamdclover, I vote morning of too. scorpioscuba, so scary that your dd passes out! I would definitely bring up your family history with the dr. I hope it's nothing serious.
We had our first swimming lesson today and he loved it. He was giggling and splashing and so cute. We took him to the beach for the first time a couple weeks ago and he ran right into the ocean. My little fishy!

Same! Cut the buckles off after a few months since they were always just hanging there in the way.
We haven't had the changing table set up in a long time, though. I can't remember when we stopped using it... maybe when dd2 was 7 months old or something? She just got too wiggly. We changed dd1's diaper on the changing table until she was almost 2, but she was always really mellow about diaper changes.

I had to look up what the proximity sensor was. That would be super annoying to have broken! Ugh!

NellieOleson, the LT is because most of us are in the same boat with worrying for one reason or another. At DD1's pedi appt tomorrow we'll also be checking her size - she's off the curve at the bottom and we have to monitor to make sure she's not dropping farther. We'll also be checking for anemia because she gets tired really easily.

In my quest of searching through Audible on Amazon I started thinking about how I lately constantly have to be entertained, for lack of a better word. I always have my phone on me so if I'm waiting in line somewhere, letting the dog out, etc. I'm always reaching for it so I can find something to entertain myself with.
I don't know where I'm going with this, but I do wonder if it's sort of unhealthy. I listen to podcasts now at work to get through some of the more monotonous tasks, or when I'm cleaning at home.
I'm not making any argument against technology. Seriously, I don't really have plans to unplug any time soon. It's just something I've been thinking about lately. Am I too plugged in? Probably, but I'm happy so is it a bad thing? I don't know. I'm not ignoring my family, work, life in general.
Now that our weather has finally decided to listen to the calendar, I want ALL the ice cream. We got coupons for Marble Slab in the mail, there's an 80 flavors down the road a bit, and I just read a blog post about a rolled ice cream food truck that's open for the season. I'm also starting to look at campgrounds, which should be an interesting experience, we never camped with S until he was almost 3.
