STM, if your lo's will be sharing a room are you setting it up before baby arrives or afterwards? DS and baby will be sharing, but I'm debating if I should get started on redecorating and buy DS a new bed now or wait. Baby will sleep in our room for at least a few months so.....
DS2 and DD share and I set it up before he arrived.
@wicky, don't be afraid to move them into the same room before the baby is STTN. My DD has gotten used to DS2 waking and he screams the house down until he sees me. She doesn't even stir when he wakes up anymore. They get used to sleeping through things like that.

MH go to me a spa package for my birthday (60 minute massage, facial, pedicure) and I'm about 2/3 through it right now and it's the best ever. They fed me, and have childcare so my kid is happily (I hope?) playing in the daycare room and I'm just hanging out with paraffin on my feet. It's a good Friday.
What the hell is this ridiculousness?! The box for our crib came to the door like this and thankfully it wasn't actually damaged inside or I would've been even more upset!
Bakery was a success and I got so many yummy sweets to last at least a week (I hope). It had been almost 4 years since I had worked there but it was just as crazy as I remember it being: I waited outside in line for 30 mins.
That's awful! I'm glad the crib wasn't damaged at least.
My doula team found out what lullaby they play at my hospital when babies are born it's the same one that set me off. So they are already calling the hospital to figure how I don't have to hear it. Including finding out that it doesn't play on one of the mother baby floors so I can ask for that floor in my birth plan.

So the hospital plays the same lullaby every time a baby is born through like a speaker system?? Like how Coldstone employees sing a song each time they get a tip??
Yes and the hospital where DD was born did the same thing. Twinkle twinkle Little Star. I can't hear it without freaking out.

What do you mean it set you off? I feel like I have missed some vital information!
Nevermind, I should have continues reading before posting. mambo
@wicky, I think it's something that is done at all of the hospitals when a baby is born. Although, I never heard it when I was in labor. It was something I only heard in the hallways. I would think it would be way too distracting and bothersome to hear it in the laboring rooms and recovery rooms.
My hospital plays a lullaby too. No idea which one it is. Not sure if you can hear it on the labor and delivery floor. You can hear it pretty much everywhere else, even outside on some sidewalks.

My best friend competed in a body building competition today. It was the oddest experience of my life. She was awesome, but the sunless tanner, Speedos, and oil was a lot.

Just ran across this link today (yeah, old topic, but still relevant since we're all going to be pregnant all summer): pregnantchicken.com/best-maternity-swimwear/ Lots of recommendations for those who are looking for a maternity suit. ETA There's also some humor thrown in there for your entertainment. 😉

Also... It occurred to me that I'm like 100 days from delivery if this is like my daughter's pregnancy.
With my first I went 4 weeks early. I was in premature labor from 20 weeks though. My second, I went a week late but was expecting to go early because of my first pregnancy. With my third, I went on my due date. So I have no idea what to expect. I'm just hoping my body kick starts labor before my water breaks. The hospital portion was much easier because I wasn't on a clock and no one was threatening a c-section if the baby didn't come within the 12 hours.

This is OB/Hospital specific. My water broke before labor kicked in, and I wasn't on any specific clock. My doctor said they would just monitor my temperature and keep a close eye on things. 12 hours is crazy! I've always heard 24 hours, but even that is apparently overly cautious.
jorja, it definitely makes the labor portion stressful. With my first, my water broke and I don't think I was on a clock but that was 15 years ago. They put me on a clock with DD. She was so stubborn, she literally took 12 hours to the dot. DS2 was so different. I didn't even know I was actually in labor when I was in active labor because I had never experienced labor with an intact sac.
@wicky right I told someone once it isn't the people that just had a baby that hear it. It's the people that are having a bad experience that do.
Exactly this. When I was induced after my daugter passed away the nurses very kindly turned it off on the floor. Glad your team is helping you find a work around as well.
DD lost and born 9/18/2013 at 24 weeks (Trisomy 18) DS born 6/16/2015 (at 39 weeks 6 days, after emergency cerclage at 23 weeks and 14 weeks of bed rest)

The hospital I work at and everyone I did clinicals at has played a short lullaby when babies are born throughout the hospital. I can't hear it in patient rooms.
mambo, I wonder if it's possible to just have the sound turned off when you're there.

I'm way too excited about this but I just made hardboiled eggs with fresh farm eggs that I collected today, and I peeled them perfectly. This has never in my life happened. Those things are impossible to peel. Small pleasures in life.

I start my new job in L&D today. A week and a half of classroom orientation to kick things off. Here's to hoping I like it since I fought so hard to get my job here.

One of my dogs insists on laying on my stomach now all the time. I wonder if he can feel the babies. It's pretty cute.
Also...my allergies are so ridiculously bad. I get them annually but never like this. I've tried Zyrtec, which usually works, and saline spray...but I'm still so miserable. I can't sleep too bc I can't breathe. Anyone have any other tips or tricks to try?!?
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. wannabmama, my allergies are terrible this year, and I think DD is struggling with them, too. I just take my Allegra during the day and Benadryl at night if I feel like I need it. My OB also said Sudafed is ok, so I take that when I'm super congested.
