I am tired. E woke up at 5:30 fussing. I was able to get her back to sleep with a pacifier, but I never fully got back to sleep after that. My weekend was good we had no real plans so it was a lot of relaxing.
We have a new nanny who seems great. E rolled over from belly to back and she grabbed at the banana I was eating this weekend and ate some. It all happened so quickly she seemed to enjoy it though. I plan to start some solids with her later this week.
I finally put fresh summer sheets on the bed. I'm excited for bedtime tonight. Every time I washed the sheets there would be a cold snap so I'd put the flannel sheets back on. I love my flannel but I'm excited for some cool crisp cotton sheets.
Ds will be 2 on Saturday! I have all the feels. I will also be running around like a mad woman trying to get everything ready for his party.
Circle Time today. The zoo tomorrow! They've opened a new jaguar exhibit and the baby jaguars are on display! This week is the member sneak peek. Obviously I'm more excited than my kid.
We had such a crazy busy weekend. Work all 3 days (fri night, sat & sunday) I used to try to take Monday's off to recover but some of my suppliers require that I order mondays for Thursday deliveries, so that shoots that. Waiting for MIL to get here then heading up to work. Can't wait til tomorrow, it's my "weekend"
Hey! I go back to work on Wednesday, which means tomorrow I gotta wake up at the crack of dawn to get myself used to my new wake up time. And I gotta get my uniform stuff together and my pump bag packed.
Weekend was good. The last couple of weeks have been consumed by LLR stuff, so it will be nice to get back into a routine with normal life and figuring out that balance.
W is doing great. We are gonna start working on the crib transition soon. DS1 had been ending up in our bed a few nights a week so it makes for a very crowded sleeping arrangement.

meeggaannw, that's crazy that he slept so much once swaddles. Little man loves being snuggled up I guess. I have no advice for the transition out of the swaddle but I'll send lots of good juju your way.
I'm at playtime before Circle Time and I'm having a panic attack that all these kids are so much more verbal than ds. Same age or younger. I know there's a broad range of development, every kid is different, etc etc. but with his two year appointment next Monday I am having anxiety over his lack of words.

lakegirl, anecdote: DS1 was not very verbal until closer to 2.5. He is now a non-stop chatter box with a very good vocabulary. Like, he seriously won't stop talking. Ever.
Cold turkey no swaddle didn't work for us either meeggaannw. What kills me is that after B falls asleep swaddled, he gets his arms out and sleeps mostly unswaddled anyway. He's on the brink of rolling back to belly, so I'm getting nervous and googling all the things. Zipadeezip? Love to Dream Swaddle? I dunno. ::sigh::
B did 5 hrs, followed by a 1 hr wakeup (which DH handled) followed by another 3.5. He went down late and got up early, but at least it was technically only 1 wakeup and he didn't need to eat to go back down. Better than 4 wake ups every 2-3hrs I guess...

Yay Monday! I can't believe I'm saying that. my mom called last night and asked if she could come see the baby, so DH and I got to go out for dinner. It was lovely. I decided to move H into his room last night, in his rock n play, and guys, HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!! AND it was an insane storm last night, the thunder and lightning was horrible, and I had the best sleep.
I fed H frozen over the weekend, with no problem. wth was DH doing then? I have about a month's worth in the freezer, so I decided to try weaning from the pump. I have no idea what I'm doing, I pumped 3 times yesterday, instead of 6. Anyone know how to make this go faster?

Hi ladies! I need to catch up on a few days worth of posts but I hope everyone is doing well!
meeggaannw, I'm sure Noah would do the same at this point. We still even swaddle him with a blanket during some naps at home and he sleeps so much better. I'm terrified to even try.
tex, enjoy your last few days at home! I hope the transition goes well for you.
peaseblossom55, I'm so glad you found another nanny so quickly! I hope this one is a better fit for you too.
We had a busy weekend. I got my hair done Saturday morning and then had a playdate with some July 2012 friends in the afternoon. Then yesterday we did errands and a bazillion loads of laundry, followed by a playdate with the neighbor girl. All of our weekends this month are already packed, but we somehow managed to fit a date night in this weekend and I'm looking forward to a few child-free hours and a nice dinner with H. It's cold and rainy here today but I'm working from home and my boss is on vacation all week so that makes everything better!

LovesMeSomeCake, last time my supply kind of died on its own, but when I'm ready to stop EPing I'm going to do the same- just slowly decrease the pumps and maybe reduce the time you're pumping when you do pump. It might take awhile but it should give your body signs that you no longer need the milk. Otherwise if you want to reduce supply even faster, I've heard some women take Sudafed to help dry you up. Good luck, I hope others can give you better advice!

I keep thinking about how much easier life would be if I stopped pumping yesterday. I felt guilty about that in a way. I'm still so unsure about pumping not pumping. It sucks. I kept hoping my supply would pick up again when I got back to work. Either way I'm proud of where I got to.

Sigh. I'm almost out of my stash at home and I'm still not pumping enough for more than one bottle during the day. I need to go find some formula. W is also getting more lazy about nursing. He's not latching well and he fusses a lot during our nursing sessions.
I really hope the lactation cookies I ordered come in soon and work well. I don't want to quit nursing but this is the biggest headache. I didn't think my supply would drop as quickly as it did with pumping or that it wouldn't recover.
In other news, we had a pretty good weekend, too, minus all the gross snow.

You should ABSOLUTELY be proud of where you got to! Your dedication to giving her bm always amazes me. You basically had everything thrown at you and you deserve major props for your commitment.

I know this is very likely going to be the case. But the mom-teacher anxiety is strong.

Thank you. I feel torn still, so may be I need another month or two before I feel really ready. Again maybe my pedi will say something one way or another on Friday to sway my decision.

Hugs. We got referred for speech at DS1's two year appointment. He was babbling but not talking much. Know that it's not your fault. Some kids might need that extra help. ❤️

thelittleredm, I'm sorry about your supply. I hope the cookies help. I also at one point took fenugreek too. I am taking domperidone currently but it never helped much.

peaseblossom55, I totally feel you! I am so torn about stopping breastmilk. At the end of the day H will have had 5 months of breast milk, some babies get none and join MENSA, I'm done beating myself up. Fed is best and a more relaxed happy mama has to count for something right? Honestly though, what will I do with 3 more hours a day? Or should I say, 3 less hours of facebook?

peaseblossom55 and LovesMeSomeCake, right there with you ladies. I love providing bm to Noah but loathe the amount of time it takes, especially on the weekends when we're trying to get so much done as a family. I'm already supplementing quite a bit of formula (about 1/3 formula, 2/3 bm) but I take a huge amount of pride in the bm I do give. EPing is so hard, and so time consuming, but so worth it. Whenever you feel ready (today or a year from now) is the perfect time for you.

Gotta work on bottle training N some more. She latched a few times the last session so I think we're almost there. But she's not very efficient with it.
She slept 10:30-7 last night but I was tossing and turning.
She rolled onto her side from her back last night. We need to get some sleep sacks and get the crib sheets washed. She's asleep in the swing right now.

carrots, I hate when I have no chocolate in the house.
summergirl1211, I kind of realized this weekend how much of a pain it really is. It doesn't bother me nearly as much during the week while I am at work.

LovesMeSomeCake, i know it sucks, but try not to rush pump-weaning. You do NOT want plugged ducts! I'd go with what lakegirl and summergirl1211 suggested.
peaseblossom55, 6 months of pumping? You should be SO proud! Good luck navigating the feelings of whatever you decide.
thelittleredm, I hope you have success with the cookies. And if they don't work magic, at least you have cookies!

We had a busy and productive weekend... and had some fun, too! Knocked out some chores, planted some bright flowers, went to a little friend's birthday party.
Mondays are dumb. I like my job. But I hate working. Plus, I smashed my finger this morning and it hurts to type
Holy crap it's windy. Nice but some random sudden gusts. Our heavy canvas umbrella just blew up and out of the table hole and metal stand and into the hedgerow. Luckily dd and I had just come inside a few minutes before. I guess tonight's storm is giving us a little sneak peek!
Yesssss my plan is working. The new neighbor lady popped through the hedge row with leftover cake from the christening. We had a nice chat. We share a very long property line and our kids will be in the same grade so I have high hopes that we can be buddies. I told her to pop on over for the birthday party next weekend. *crosses fingers*
