I have four nanny interviews lined up for this week and a nanny scheduled for all week/on the job interview. My week is looking much better than 24 hours ago when I had no plan.
Crappy Mother's Day due to stress about the nanny situation but it's showing promise now!
Of course H is out of town. All of this will fall on me. Per usual.
I lit into him when he told me yesterday am to relax and that it would all work out. At that point I had emailed several possible nannies and just wasn't getting anywhere. I was enraged, as it wasn't H who would have to take off all week if we didn't find someone. Anyway, doing better now.
OMG quickest way to get a nutpunch is to tell a woman, "Just relax!"

I accepted a new job that requires me to work 25 miles outside the city every day. I need a car and to organize the baby's to/from daycare each day. I had to find people, hire people, negotiate a schedule at work that allows me to still do one way of daycare each day, etc. I spent a lot of time stressing over this and finally got it all worked out.
My husband then announced he would be out of town for work for 1.5 weeks. This will be two weeks after I start. I freaked out.
He had the gall to tell me that I was being dramatic and that "we'd figure it out."
WE. WE. You know who again found people, worked out a schedule, and is still stressing over every detail of those 1.5 weeks? A whole lot of ME.

joy I feel your pain. It's not fair but I at least don't see it changing in my house. H is great but logistics simply aren't his strong suit. It is mine.

Today is a good day!!
This was day one with a new nanny. She is just a temp but knows this week is an on the job interview for our long term position. There were a few bumps just due to newness but she is great! Super motivated and nice. Not as great with the kids as the old nanny though but time will tell.
This thing is amazing. We don't use it as a circular play yard but in an L shape to block off the stairs and the living room. So he can't escape the living room at all and if he's in the kitchen he can get to the kitchen and hallway but not the stairs. And it's incredibly sturdy he pulls up on it all the time.
We have everything pretty much baby proofed, minus ds1's room, but out house isn't that big. We keep a gate in the hallway to keep ds2 confined to 1 side of the house. With ds1, I kept the pack and play up with some toys (in what is now ds2's room) for times when I needed to keep him confined (shower, etc).
I am not looking forward to DD getting teeth, she's already a bad sleeper as it is. If she takes after her father she's still got another 6 months though, maybe she'll be a better sleeper by then. Hahahaha
How long do you wait for the baby to fall asleep before giving up on a nap? We always put DD in her crib awake and she falls asleep on her own now, but it always takes forever. Most naps/bedtimes take about an hour for her to fall asleep, sometimes longer, rarely shorter. She acts tired and will even periodically lay down and close her eyes, but then gets back up again.
I'm getting frustrated by it, but I'm not sure how to adjust her naps or if this is just the way she is since she's always been a terrible napper.

I stopped following sleep cues for naps and instead followed the 2-3-4 schedule. Then he put himself to sleep within 15 minutes but usually less than 5. He recently moved to a 3-3-4 schedule.
Of note bedtime I don't follow the 4 hours after waking from the last nap. I go by sleep cues for that, but bedtime he nurses to sleep.

I've been doing 2-3-4, although I shorten the '4' part sometimes as long as she seems tired or else her bedtime would be late. And she's up by 6 am no matter what so I don't want to do a late bedtime.
Nap length is anywhere from 20 min-2.5 hours, it changes day to day.
I've been trying to make sure she only naps in her crib and not the stroller/car/carrier, which she will do even if she's only been awake for an hour. So I'm pretty much stuck at home all the time, and I'm really struggling with that.

How old is she? Maybe push the first nap back to 3 hours. DS wasn't ready at 2 hours and once I moved it back closer to the 3 hour mark he did better. I'm guessing he'll keep pushing that nap later the closer he gets to 1 and drops the AM nap.
DD went to one nap early bc of daycare around 11 months and started taking longer naps. Before that she was the 20 minute cat napper three times a day.
Also maybe try to plan one nap at home and don't be as strict about the second nap location if there's something you want or need to do. It will be easier though when only planning around afternoon nap and bedtime.

She was 9 m last week. Until we sleep trained her about month ago she was taking 3 cat naps every day. After sleep training she will nap longer, that seems to be the only thing that really improved.
Is anyone else's baby moving away from the 2-3-4 schedule? It's way too early for her to be moving to one nap but she seems to be pushing her morning nap later and sleeping longer. It's making a mess of our schedule.

We are down to one nap. Daycare started doing it about 2 weeks ago (right around 9 months). Wake up at 5:45am, nap from 12:30-2ish, bedtime around 6:30pm.
