That would be fun getting the kids together if you guys do a day in The city. But we'll be away july 11-25
It probably won't work then because we are there July 9-22 and going up to NH early on the trip. I was thinking about the Science Museum maybe one day because I have a friend who works there so if we do that on the 10th, I'll let you know.
That would be great. Let me know. I can actually get two of you in for free on my membership.
SpinsOffResonance - I say watch it. The season that it jumped five years is second to last season. Right now is the last season. It's a total cluster, but, I've seen every season and invested this long into it, so I'm going to finish watching to get some vague, unfulfilling answers.
Hmmm if there's only 2 more seasons maybe I will. I really didn't want to get readdicted for an undetermined number of seasons with no answers. I was pretty satisfied pretending the last episode I saw was the series finale and not the season finale!

They changed the parking at my work and it kinda blows. It used to be a free for all, as long as your car was registered and there was a spot, you could park. No cost. Never had a problem finding a spot. I know this is a luxury. Now it's $75 a month and assigned. My assigned spot is now in the visitor lot and I can hardly fit my car in and still manage to get out. I asked about changing spots, nope.
So basically I need a smart car and a diet to use this new, more expensive spot. 😐

Does your job not cover any portion of the cost? That doesn't seem fair.

They're covering there full cost $75 for now, but said it would be discussed with compensation at our annual review which is late June.

Well, that doesn't sound too promising. Hope it doesn't affect a raise for you.
I'm afraid it will. $75 a month sounds not that bad but it adds up to $1200 a year. That's not really in our budget right now.
I looked into taking the bus because they offer discounted bus passes ($150 a year or something). It would take me 85 mins from my house to work. It's 5 miles. lol no. I can't even imagine how that would work with all of the therapy appts we have for the kids.
Susan0utLoud, could you bike? That really stinks switching it up like that
Lol.
Seriously, though, no. I don't own a bike and the thought of driving a bike in city traffic scares me. Seattle is known for its 7 hills and rain. And I have to pick up and drop off kiddos at random places and times depending on the day. I just can't see it as an option. I know people that do it and I'm always like.....
Commiseration love tit. I officially hate bedtime now and I hate that DD has been going to bed upset pretty much every night. I can't figure out how to stop the shenanigans of getting out of bed a bunch of times without making her cry. 😔

Susan0utLoud might the argument that you have to take the kids to appointments etc help you with either getting a better parking spot or at least not ending up having to pay for it yourself (when you have your next pay/benefits review)? You looked into public transport but have a valid reason to not be able to use that option and could say the same for carpooling.
Ours is the morning. Mornings are awful right now. Fighting breakfast, dressing, potty, teeth brushing, and which shoes and putting them on. Then fighting getting in the car. Fighting which car to get in. If dad is taking him, he wants Mommys car. If mommy is taking him, a fit for daddy's car. Then a fit over bringing toys in the car- we usually let him but say they have to stay in the car. Then another fit because he dgaf and wants to take the toys into school. Then a fit to get into the building and once/ month he's screaming at drop off.
My niece's birthday party is killing me. FIL doesn't want to drive so badly that he's willing to drive an hour and a half each way to our house to drive with us. I told DH that I won't be in the same car with him. He'll complain the whole way and will somehow force us to be on his schedule. I also asked if he knows we're staying over and has talked to BIL about staying over. I don't want to be the bad guy in this but this weekend will be bad enough without driving FIL.

This sums up our mornings as well. I just let DC deal with breakfast though. And at pickup, he gets upset when DH picks him up because he wants mommy and vice versa.
