How far along are you? 24 weeks tomorrow - YAY for V Day!!
What is baby's size? 1 lb 9 oz But from baby sizer, a package of Oreos, which oddly enough I've been craving.
Any appointments this week? I had one this morning, thus the reason I know the baby's actual size. He's measuring in the 78th percentile, which was a relief because last scan he was at the 93rd and I was really freaking out about having a big baby. Cervical length is also great!
How are you feeling? Ok. I talked to my OB about the way my emotions have been and we agreed trying some natural remedies would be good to start with and if it's not getting better by next appt, then we'll look into medications. Physically, I get tired so easy and I've been having some pretty painful episodes of contraction like cramps. They literally stop me in my tracks. They aren't consistent, so hopefully it's nothing to worry about. My OB noted it, but she didn't seem too concerned since it's just been a couple random times. Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? Yes, and I've already discussed it with my OB. I really hope she is the one that performs the delivery, but she said any of the doctors on call would follow the notes she has down for me in case I go into labor on an off day of hers. She isn't going on any vacations, so as long as baby comes when scheduled, we'll be good.
Key things are:
-No visitors until we are ready -Clear shield so I can see the baby being delivered even though I'm having a c section -Immediate skin to skin as long as baby is healthy -Baby stays with us the entire time we are in the hospital -Possible delayed cord clamping
I'm sure there's more I'll add, but can't think of it all right now.

@kelsz12 I think he'll be ok. I'm envisioning him sitting down next to me so he won't really be able to see much more than me and since the incision is so low and blocked by a big ol' belly, I don't think he'll be able to see the actual cut. Again, that's just my thinking of how it's going down; I could be totally wrong and he'll end up passing out in the delivery room!
How far along are you? 24 weeks, eeeekkkk how are we getting so close?!
What is baby's size? Eggplant
Any appointments this week? No, nothing till the end of the month
How are you feeling? I had my appt this past Friday, the partial previa has fully resolved so I'm so happy about that! Physically I'm tired as hell and feeling achy, my legs today for some reason. Feeling like a huge belly too much sooner this time. I asked the OB but she said I am measuring just fine.
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? Same as last time, trying to go with the flow and hoping for a similar unmedicated experience. My water broke but no contractions until pitocin was started like 9 hours later and then she was born like 3.5 hours after that! Buuuut I did push for almost 2 hours so big, fat DNW that again
How are you feeling? Okay. Hip pain per usual. Damn mattress. Random day of nausea yesterday that finally resolved after a lot of puking. Yuck.
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? Haha. At my appt last week my Dr asked me and I said - as a nicu nurse, all we hear from l&d is "oh you have a birth plan? Let me prep the OR for you..." he told me to not be so cynical 😕 So now I need a birth plan and he told me to go to the labor prep class the hospital offers. So we are doing that on Saturday.
My general plan is: Go with the flow. Only a c/s if medically necessary - NOT bc Drs shift is ending or they're tired of me being there. No vacuum or forceps. Try no meds until I'm over it (according to DH that will be approximately 5 minutes into labor, my Dr says he would walk into l&d back first if it were up to him..... we will see 🤷🏻♀️) Skin to skin asap if baby is stable. Delayed cord clamping if baby and mom are stable enough.
One thing we did decide - have Dr catch baby. Have DH cut the cord and have them pass baby to DH and have him put the baby on my chest so he gets to hold him for a few seconds before our hour+ of skin to skin.
Any appointments this week? Had my 1 hr gtt yday. Also had an ultrasound and my placenta previa has cleared! It went from 1.9cm to 4.2cm from the cervix. Yay. I brought H thinking he could see the baby but they just did transvaginal and wouldn't do it. 😝
How are you feeling? Not bad some pains but it's manageable. I have a cold sore though. Not cool when pregnant
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? We tour the hospital next week. I have to think of somen preferences and I have a lot of qs. I would like delayed cord clamping and save the placenta for pills.
Any appointments this week? Yes, ob appointment and growth ultrasound tomorrow.
How are you feeling? I'm feeling good. I feel baby moving a lot more now which helps my anxiety. Physically I still have hip pain when I sleep which is annoying, but other than that I feel good.
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? Not really. I know I would like delayed cord clamping and want mh to cut the cord. I also want to do skin to skin right away. I think all of that is standard at the hospital where I'm delivering though. Other than that I don't have a plan. It's hard to plan for birth when I really have no idea what to expect.
Any appointments this week? Thursday for cervical check and growth scan
How are you feeling? Okay. Work is wearing on me and having some shortness of breath
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? Kind of. We're having a RCS and I enjoyed the way it went last time. DH cut the cord, we did skin to skin, and were able to breastfeed right away. I think the biggest change is that we will have a private room since we'll want the twins with us most of the time and we will delay family visits for the first few hours.
How are you feeling? Achy, tired (probably because the toddler isn't sleeping), lots of heartburn
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? Not really. Best case scenario? Get to the hospital at about 6-7cm, probably get an epidural. No meconium in the amniotic fluid (haha, as if I or anyone else has control over this). Push baby out. H cut the cord and tell me the sex. Get that hour of skin to skin (DS had to go to the nursery for a few hours). Breastfeed in the first hour or two. Then eat a whole lot of food while H holds the baby. Then call family to visit if it's not the middle of the night.
Any appointments this week? No, next one is in two weeks.
How are you feeling? Ok. I was super tired Saturday, but after going to bed at 8pm I felt better Sunday.
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? No. I didn't have one last time. I feel like having set things will only lead to disappointment. I do need to ask about whether we should schedule RCS or just wait to see if I go into labor naturally - I won't be induced again. I'd also like to discuss how I can spend the least amount of time in the hospital and have the least interruptions. I take daily medications and I don't need them waking me up to give me my synthroid - I've taken it for over ten years. So, I'm thinking I might just need to lie and say I don't take medications? I don't do well away from home and I barely get sleep away from my bed, so two nights in a hospital is rough.
bsouls Instead of lying about your meds, just ask to take your own from home. Then tell the nurse that you will take them at x time and she doesn't need to wake you up. That way your med list will still be correct, but you can hopefully get around being woken up (once anyway).

I brought mine from home last time and they held onto them to distribute them. I only take synthroid, metformin and a prenatal, so it's nothing that I think would make much of a difference in an emergency. They already wake you every shift to take vitals and the attending doctor or whatever will look at the incision. I'm just dreading the two nights in the hospital if I have a c section.

You need to tell them about all meds you take. It's irresponsible and dangerous to not inform your medical team everything you are taking.
Honestly, you are talking about getting woke up once in a 24 hour period. Just accept that you are going to sleep like crap in L&D. You can always ask the nurse to schedule you meds to be taken when they check your vitals to reduce getting woke up one extra time (if you are even asleep).
Feel lucking you only have to take something once a day. I'm on every six hours and have been for 3 weeks and will be until delivery - which is an improvement over how often I had nurses coming into my room to give me medication when I was admitted to L&D to check vitals, give me medication, or to check contractions/put babies on monitor.
Actual size: Baby A is measuring at 1lb 3oz and Baby B is at 15oz.
Any appointments this week?
MFM on Tuesday
How are you feeling?
General discomfort and frustrated about how much is out of my control.
QOTW: Do you have a birth plan?
Based on yesterday's MFM appointment, any birth plan is being driven by Baby B and my MFM.
My cervix measured at 2.5 and we should be switching to manual checks starting next week.
A growth scan was done and B is measuring in the 1st percentile. Of bigger concern was her drop in fluid level. Because her cranial blood flow and her kidney looked good, the MFM does not feel the fluid drop is from my anti-contraction medication (a possible side effect). Instead, she feels it is due to placental insufficiency. She had me schedule two more weekly appointments (as opposed to a month a time) and told us to prepare for me to be admitted in two weeks. I could've admitted as soon as next week depending on that scan.
They will try to keep both babies in as long as possible but as soon as B shows distress, an emergency c-section will be performed. We are looking at 3 to 4 months of NICU time if they both survive.
therealbug, Thinking of you and your babies. I'm very sorry for all you are going through and many prayers they can stay in as long as possible and be delivered safely and healthy.
therealbug you guys are all in my thoughts every day. I hope Baby Bs fluid increases so they can hang out in there for a lot longer than just a few more weeks. 💛
therealbug Thinking about all of you so often. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be. Hoping they can keep those babies in growing for many more weeks.
I somehow missed this this week. How far along are you? 24+1 I made it to V-Day!
What is baby's size? An eggplant
Any appointments this week? Monday I have my repeat a/s to look at the spine.
How are you feeling? Mostly good though my feet ar4e starting to swell at the end of the workday unless I wear tennis shoes which is frowned upon but I've been doing.
Qotw: Do you have a birth plan? No and I'm freaking out about it. We need to figure it out. Our oB/GYN just retired so I don't even have a real OB, just anyone at that clinic who will take me right now.
