I have tours at a couple of daycare centers near my new job. I'm nervous to move J and expose him to a whole new germ pool after everything we've been through.
Also J got hurt at daycare today. He's ok, but he has a couple of bruises on his face and he's generally grumpy this afternoon. Poor dude.
So LO is walking, but only where someone sits w her and tells her to walk to them. She fell once when she was walking back and forth between DH and i, and it dawned on me that she cannot get herself to stand without pulling up on something. When should they be able to do this? I feel like thats why she is not walking yet, because when she falls she cannot get herself back up!

So this is how E started walking. First steps April 8. She's just this week or so started walking the majority of the time. She still can't get herself up without pulling up on something. If she falls she crawls over to something to pull up to stand or just crawls to whatever she was aiming to get to. I've seen her stand up without pulling up once.
So there was a ton of just a handful of steps at a time and then falling. Now she's steadier so can get around much further without falling.

On the topic of E walking. I'm still not used to it. She'll come walking through a doorway and it seems so odd lol. She was just 13 months on Friday and Dd1 didn't take her first steps until 2 days before she was 16 months. It's bizarre watching such a young baby walk around to me.
I had a tiny stash of BM frozen in my freezer (like really tiny 18ozish) and saw a mom on Facebook looking. Her son is actually in dd1's class so I'm giving it to her tomorrow. I am happy to give it away since E doesn't need it, but suddenly feel very odd about it too lol. Like I don't want to let it go.

Looks like the walkers are emerging! K just started walking everywhere this weekend. Before that, she could only do about 8 steps at a time. Now she can go pretty steadily and will sometimes fall but get back up and keep going. She rarely crawls anymore because it hurts her knees.

Fun fact: did you know babies don't get actual knee caps for years? It's just cartilage until it starts turning to hard bone around 4 and then mostly hard ones at 10. So it probably doesn't actually hurt, she just doesn't like doing it anymore since she can walk. My 4 y year old will still race around crawling with E.

K was like this. It was a week or so and then boom, she figured it out. I honestly dont remember exactly how it worked but one day she couldn't stand without help and the next day she was doing the butt up in the air and slowly rise to stand thing. You may want to work on her doing that motion so she can work those core muscles.

I told mh this and it totally creeped him out lol.

It is kinda creepy lol. Makes sense though. I know I do not enjoy crawling on my knees lol. I didn't realize until I double checked today that they don't fully form until they are like 10, I thought that was 5. Even then it says they have soft spots for growth.

Even before she started walking she was bear crawling... She didn't want to put her knees on the ground if she didn't have to. I assumed it didn't hurt like it hurts a fully formed adult's knees, but I think it still was bothering her. Or maybe she just didn't like brushing her legs on the ground... no idea I guess.
11k to replace our furnace and a/c. Granted we are choosing the best option, but it also has the lowest monthly payment and will save us more in energy savings in the long run. But still. 11 freaking thousand dollars. Oh em gee.

J is taking a second nap for the first time in months. I'm not surprised since she woke up at 5am (almost 2 hours earlier than normal) and wouldn't go back to sleep
My J has molars coming in. It has not been pleasant.
Her third was a molar. Fourth was her left top front tooth. Her fifth is the one next to that one (not the other front tooth). You can tell she's getting 3 more molars and her bottom right canine possibly her bottom left canine too. (Just waiting for them to pop through her gums.) Her top gums are so swollen in the front that I can't tell if she's getting any more of those... I just knew that she was going to get a bunch at once...

How did the daycare search go?
Good. We are starting him at a center next month. Thanks for asking.
