I'm exhausted today. We spent 10:30-1:30 in the ER with BabyShy, who woke up vomiting, couldn't keep water down and just seemed out of it. Diagnosis was that she was congested and throwing up mucus, but we had to wait until the Zofran kicked in and she could keep down water. Today, of course, she was up at the usual time and thrilled with herself. Her parents are another story.
I'm buying H's mom a mother's day card right now. Problem is, they've not always had the best relationship (hence why I'M buying the card and he's all "must we?").
Anyway, all these are so sappy and lovey. I legit need a "Worlds Most Okayest Mom" card.

DD is at school, the dog is at doggy daycare, and obvi, DH is at work. I'm loving having the house to myself for a few hours! Probably going to sew a shirt for my mom that I've been promising her for months. It'll be her Mother's Day gift. And then accupuncture at noon before picking up DD from school.
Feeling twin A a bunch this morning and loving it. Totally ready for twin B to move some more though, he's the lazy one
@moonandback141, I read Ina May's book and found it inspiring. Some of the birth stories in there are sort of crazy, like a woman who found labor orgasmic (to each her own I guess?), but reading through the different birth stories helped me feel more prepared and comfortable myself.
To be honest, I was ambivalent about going med-free. I figured I'd go as long as I could on my own but not beat myself up if I decided to get the epidural. In the end, I did get the epi with DS because my contractions during transition were making me super nauseated, and I'm glad I made the decision I did. But I felt more prepared for the 7cm that I did progress through at home by reading up on methods of pain management.
Cythe, maybe a pretty card that is blank inside so you can write a quick note? I'm always in charge of card-buying. I haaate all the sappy crap pre-written in most of them.
Oh no shytimes! Sorry baby shy was so sick, but glad today is looking better!
@moonandback141, you could consider hiring a doula. They are great with pain management techniques and it might help you get through the middle instead of waiting for an epidural to wear off. Just a thought!
Anyone else feel like their butt is growing as fast as their bump?
Yes! Me! And the boobs. It's out of control.
Well, pregnancy is the only time I have decent boobs, so I like that part. But my booty is getting out of control, for sure. It got bigger last time, too, but not until much later. Everything is getting big so soon this time!!

I ended up getting 3. A basic blank, one that more or less said 'thanks for potty training me' and one that basically said 'thanks for keeping me alive'. He can choose.

Cythe I don't have a good relationship with my dad so I just try to find one that says as little as possible. Could you find one that just says happy Mother's Day?
Edit: spelling and I posted before I saw that you found a couple pretty basic ones

Haha, can so relate.I keep thinking my boobs are so big (compared to normal) bUT I think it's a little bit in my head at this point haha

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how do you know which is which when they're moving around?

it is hard, but you can totally find nonsmooshy Mother's Day cards. I promise. Those are what I buy.

Glad she's feeling better, but sorry you had a rough night. Hope you can get some rest today.
Sonic had $0.50 corn dogs today. I totally dragged DS out of the house just to go get lunch. I ordered 4. Secretly hoping he only ate 1 so I could eat 3.
Deliciousness and no regrets. I can do salad for dinner or not. Lol
For people who have worked with doulas in the past or plan to have a doula this time, how did you find someone?
You can try asking your OB/Midwife if they have any recommendations. Or try searching dona.org for doulas near you.
FWIW I reached out to one local doula when I was pregnant with DS but she was booked solid way past my due date. So if you are looking, earlier the better maybe?

blackmamba, yes, try dona.org. I believe it is best to have a DONA certified doula. Last time I used the one my cousin had used a year and a half prior (who is dona certified). We loved her so much she was one of the first people we called when we found out I was pregnant this time, to get on her schedule. lol Anyway, you could also ask around if you know anyone who has had a baby recently.
arimaythea thanks that's exactly what I was looking for! I feel the same way that I totally am not against going for the epi again if it gets to that point but I would like to see just how long I could go without it and possibly beat the clock since for me it seems to just be a temporary break in the process that I will have to let wear off anyway before getting to the grand finale ha.
I've heard good things about hypno-birthing for med free births as well. May be something to look in to.
I've been meaning to look into hypno birthing. I was at a 7 when i got to the hospital with DS, but i also had 2 weeks of intense contractions, so being able to deal for prodomal labor again would be nice.

Not stupid at all! At my 12 wk scan they told me baby A is on the left and B is on the right. I've been feeling most of the movement well to the left of center, and at my ultrasound last week baby A was moving tons and B was super chill. I imagine the bigger they get the harder it will be to tell. I've felt a couple movements more toward the center and I have no idea who made those

We found our Doula because my cousins wife knew her and told me about her after I said I was interested in finding one! ... Maybe reach out to people and ask if they know anyone who is one? Or maybe ask on social media , you never know.. we ended up falling in love with ours but sometimes you can meet a couple doulas before you settle on one that fits you
