Not sure where else to put this so if I should post elsewhere, let me know where!
We are doing our second Clomid cycle. First time, I had a nice sized egg on left ovary on CD 12, and an immature one on the right. I don't have my left Fallopian tube. Didn't trigger, had good timing and cycle resulted in BFN. Same deal seems to be happening this time around: today is CD12, two mature eggs on left, two days away from the right side maturing. RE wants me to trigger Saturday AM.
According to OPK stripes and FF, I usually ovulate CD 13/14. One time pre-rainbow baby, I ovulated CD 15. My cycles are always spot on 27 or 28 days.
My confusion...won't I ovulate before Sat? Does a trigger shot like encourage another ovulation? RE was talking about doing IUI, and that he would do it Mon AM if we went that route. We only have one IUI covered by insurance so I'm hesitant to do that until last resort and also only if all signs point to better chance of success in that cycle.
I will email my Dr, just looking toat some insight or questions to ask him.

Thank you both for checking in. I didnt get much from my Dr as way of explaining how a trigger post ovulation would work. He did say he doesn't hold much hope for this cycle, given I most likely ovulated from left side, and that the trigger could help push up the release of egg from right side. Didn't answer how doing trigger one day later helps, or why an IUI on CD 16 was recommended. I did trigger anyway and I guess will see what happens next month.

eliz77 - I don't know much about what you're dealing with, but it sounds like you have questions. Is it worth getting a second opinion from another doctor?

oldbaylover1024 This is a relatively new Dr for me as it is. His partner retired and that's the one I was seeing. Basically it seems like he was trying to salvage a cycle that wasn't too hopeful. I guess we'll just move forward and hope I ovulate on the right side one of these cycles.

I know I'm late to the party here but ovulating on your non tube side can result in a pregnancy (that happened to me with my 3rd loss), I'm not sure the odds, but don't give up hope for this cycle!
I hope things work for you. I would suggest visiting a good RE doctor. That will really make a huge difference. This I am saying from my own experience. You should consider looking into IUI as well. That will increase your chances of success. However, make sure the doctor you visit has a high success rate. Good luck to you.
