I woke up early with irregular contractions but had been having them all week so did a few things and then went to prenatal yoga. The contractions continued through the class and a quick stop at the store. I called my midwife to check in when I got home. At that point they were 4-6 minutes apart and 20-45 seconds long. She told me to continue tracking and call if they got longer or closer together.
My sister came over and we took the big girls to paint pottery. On the way home missed a call from the MW, so I timed a few more contractions and called her back. They were about 4 minutes apart and lasting 45 seconds so we were told to come in. I told DH and we headed in about an hour later.
We checked in to triage at 6:46 pm. They hooked me up to the monitor and checked me at 4 cm and 90%. I was surprised because I had already been 3 cm and 50% on Wednesday. They started my admission and moved me to a room.
The contractions became more intense. I could only stand, tried counter pressure points and breath through them. I tried sitting on my ball and my water broke. Things continued to intensify and shortly after started feeling the urge to push. My midwife suggested I kneel on the bottom of the bed with my torso elevated on pillows. After about 3 more contractions with pushing, DD3 was born!
