Good luck today @preppy that tulip farm looks amazing! Those girls are too adorable!
R slept for me! 7-2:45, then down until 6. I am so happy. What I would do for more sleep tonight!!! But I'm back to work. I'm waiting for DH to get out of the shower so I can go to the gym. It supposed to rain for the next week basically....not happy about it.
@preppy good luck today! I went to that farm last year and now I'm thinking of going again!
We had a better night here but still up at 5:00. STMs and people who know what they're doing, should I be delaying her bedtime? I've been putting her down around 7:00 or 7:30.
notagoddess "they" say an earlier bedtime helps them sleep later. Idk. I'm unwilling to do bedtime prior to 7. I do know that both my kids are in a light sleep in the morning and wake easily. LO will rock back to sleep, and eventually we'll sleep train that wake up if necessary.

@preppy - Good luck today! Your kiddos are precious!
notagoddess - J used to go down at 7 and, after multiple wake ups, she was up at 5. I would try and sooth her and 90% of the time she'd go back down until 7, 7:30. I'd do whatever i could to avoid picking her up. Good luck!
C slept from 7 until 4:45, and is still sleeping after taking 4 oz. I'm shocked! J didn't STTN until 18 months. This is amazing! FX he gets through the 4 month regression well.
Today we plan to go to the library and get ready for J's party tomorrow. Long story short, there's some major family drama going on and my parents are being horid. Ugh... FX tomorrow goes smoothly. My asshole family better not ruin my kid's bday.
And MH has his follow up today. He's all over the place. And my sympathy is short. Sorry not sorry.

Vacay day today to run errands for this weekend. Gonna drop babes off at daycare to have some free hands. LO1 is gonna go to the children's museum and park with DH and MIL. I'll make some returns and the. Hit up the grocery store and target solo....gonna be dangerous. I also wanna get a power pump in today too. In 2 weeks back to work I've blown through almost 1/2 of my freezer stash so wanna get some replenished this weekend.

I've always found that my kids get up at the same time regardless of whether I push bedtime later. I'd say keep your routine and just try to soothe her back down for another sleep cycle at 5.
DD was a serial early waker. I'd get her from her crib and do a side laying nursing session and she'd go back down for about an hr 50% of the time. As she got older she just started waking later naturally, but it did take some time.
oldbaylover1024 Hope the party goes well! Happy birthday to your DD!
We had a shitty night. DD is still congested and woke up again and DS is now congested and woke up 3 times. I also have a sore throat and the coughs. Give me all the coffee today.

Well we had 4 wake ups last night. So, boo to that. He's all over the chart with sleep since coming home but I figure he's just finding his new routine. We seem to have bedtime down. 6:30 I can tell he's getting ready but I try to keep him going until 7 so I can maintain him as part of the girls bedtime routine to make it easier on me. After that though I get anywhere from 2-4 wake ups. Still better than his screaming when he was in pain so I have that perspective. To hold on to.
DH called again last night, so that was nice. The call quality sucks and it cut out on us 3 times before our time was up and cut us off for good, but it's always nice just to chat.
I just realized yesterday DD1 will be 5 in a month. That snuck up on me. I want to find something really fun to do with her since DH is gone and she's kind of been the back burner kid with the babies taking up my time.
We went from STTN back to one wake up. I'm OK with that for now. We're still trading them off and she's eating quickly and going right back down at this point so it's quick. Last night I was up longer because I woke up on my own and I was waiting for her to wake up (which naturally she didn't for an hour).
We had a very busy day yesterday so I'm looking forward to some downtime today. I need to run a few minor errands around town, but we should have the whole afternoon free!

What's the proper etiquette for wedding showers? I was invited to the bachelor party, and bridal shower. Couldn't go to the bach, and can't make it to the bridal shower. Do you send a gift even if you cannot attend....and then also give a gift for the wedding?
For my wedding many people sent a gift off the registry for the shower, but then just a card at the wedding. Others did no gift if they didn't attend the shower but a gift at the wedding. I'm thinking of something for the shower and then a check for the wedding...does that sound right? Has motherhood eaten half my brain...?

Registry gift for the shower and check in a card for the wedding.
flyinghorses6 I would send a gift for the shower and also bring a gift at the wedding. I don't think the shower gift has to be huge. I would do something off the registry. And cash for the wedding.
I have never heard of people not giving a gift at a wedding just because they sent a shower gift.

R slept from 7-5 then again until 8:15. DH did the feeding at 5 but I was up at 4 with cramps.
Tmi: Sheets are currently in the wash since I bled through them while sleeping, this is bringing me back to the first few days after R's birth. No tampons either because of the cysts.
R is napping on me and we are chilling on the couch because I'm too tired to move him to the bassinet. I have a concert in the city tonight and I have to find a concert black that fits. I might go to default maternity dress.
notagoddess FTM but our guy is waking up at 4am no matter the bedtime. Sometimes I feed him sometimes I do whatever I can to get him to fall asleep if he isn't showing serious hunger signs. But actual bedtime seems to not have any affect on this 4am situation for us.
littleredfish glad you got to speak to your H again despite the bad quality line
staz we are sort of going through the same thing - it's on and off.
crazycatlady6 ugh sorry for the cramps. Enjoy the baby snuggles
PT went well, she was not impressed with our pedi. She gave us a bunch of stretches and advice. Says the muscle tightness has definitely contributed to the flat spot. Believes his position in utero has contributed as well. Hoping we can fix this situation with repositioning and stretching. He is not too happy with me today, but I'm hoping it gets easier as he gets used to it.

OMG I'm in the waiting room and there's a lady talking to the receptionists in details about her exams and her UTI and complaining that the doctor was wrong answering her email and why won't the doctor answer her emails. Send help

So LO will not sleep in the crib. He occasionally naps in the pnp. But he will put himself to sleep in the bouncer and the rnp. He's gettingtoo big for both. Anyone try a dock a tot? Is it worth the money? I think is problem is he likes to be cozy and the crib provides him no coziness. Would a dock a tot potentially help with the transition?

Well, my lawn is mowed, dishes put away, and potato bacon soup started in the crockpot. The kids were behaved all morning so I also got the laundry beast on my bed put away and SHEETS ON MY BED. I've just been in my big blanket cocoon for like 3 weeks. This is a big day and it's not even lunch time yet!
So much laundry to do this weekend. We thought our washer was broken because it stopped in the middle of the last rinse cycle washing diapers, but it just overheated. The repair guy said it can take two hours to cool off enough to run again. Now I have a whole week of laundry (minus diapers) to do this weekend while maintaining at least two hours between loads.
My return to work has gone better than expected. So far I'm mainly working on a project that is reasonably well run and just serving as QC for the other projects that I don't want to work on. I'm also switching from salaried to hourly because it effectively gives me an 7% raise in gross pay if I take off all the usual holidays and the same number of vacation/sick days. On a per-hour basis, though, I'm making more than $9/hour extra (using 2080 as the number of available work hours in a year), so approximately an extra $266 net per 40-hour week. I'll still watch for telecommute jobs since they are portable, but it's not as immediately urgent.

littleredfish awesome productivity today! I've done about a third of that so far today with one baby...
I've been transitioning S to the crib, first at night and now for naps. She's falling or staying asleep in there for short, 30 minute naps, and I think she's getting used to it. But I'm having trouble with it. I've been in tears missing her at night and now I wish I was wearing her for her nap. I'm going back to work soon and she's growing up so quickly. I'm thinking I should be getting all the cuddles while I still can.
notagoddess I compromise on naps. First nap is in the crib, second nap is usually in the car seat, afternoon nap is on me, evening nap is in the bouncer or swing. I'm not willing to give up this sweet time with her.

I need to do that. Previously she wasn't napping unless she was on me, and I was worried about napping at daycare. So I've been trying to get her to sleep in the crib, and it's working. I think I'm going to go just one nap a day in there though. I love having a warm, sleeping baby on me.

Daycare is a magic place where babies act right.
Plus our DC often has babies napping in bouncers and swings.
When DS was in the baby room, he had an assigned crib that was only his. One day I got there, and his crib assignment was changed. I asked why and was told it was because he spent his nap time rocking back and forth on all 4s and moved his crib three feet. The crib wheels were locked. His new position was on the carpeted part of the room where he was unable to move the crib. 😂😂
