I'm gonna need a big ass margarita after work. Both my sweet darlings were up freakishly early. B woke up at 4:45 and did not fall back asleep until (of course) we got to daycare. DS1, bless his big boy heart, was up at 5. Today may be the day I fall asleep at my desk.
DH offered to help out with Bs wake ups last night. I was surprised because he's literally done like a handful since he was born. So at 1am he fusses and DH goes in to get him. 45 minutes later I'm still hearing B fuss and I go into the room and DH is nowhere to be found. He was on the couch and said he was giving B a few minutes to see if he'd fall back asleep on his own.
Ugh. B was wide awake at this point so I had to nurse him to get him back down. Like, if I had just gone in and nursed him to begin with I'd have been back to sleep within 15 mins of him waking up. Instead, I was up for over an hour. Thanks but no thanks DH.
On the upside of things, tonight is my girls night out. 3 of my bffs and I have gotten a hotel room and we're doing dinner followed by morning mani/pedis and brunch. I can't wait. We try to do a girls getaway every year. Sometimes it's a whole weekend, sometimes it's just a night. It usually depends on how many of us have either 1)just had a kid or 2)are pregnant. This year 2 are pregnant and 2 are nursing lol. We keep saying that in like 2020 we'll all be done having kids and nursing so we are going to plan a real getaway and fly to somewhere warm. ☀️🍹🏖
It's pouring buckets here which is fine because today is a good prep day. I will consider the iPad time ds will be having today as an early birthday present.
ellabee that sounds like a fun time with your friends, I hope it's a blast! Sometimes mh has a similar mindset. No! You need to get to the baby before they fully wake up!

lakegirl, it's pouring here as well. I just want to go back to bed a sleep. Perfect nap weather.
ellabee, my h takes a similar approach to MOTN wake ups. And then he wonders why it takes him 2 hours to get the baby to fall back asleep. Also, your plans sound amazing. Enjoy and have fun!

ellabee, so fun! Enjoy your girls night and morning. It's so great you take the time to do things like that.
Good luck today silvermelody. I hope the bottles go well.
As expected Noah didn't keep the STTN streak alive. He was up twice and I was up early to pump before getting the kids ready for daycare. I think the supplement stuff I'm taking to increase my supply is giving him diarrhea, so I'm not sure I'll be taking it anymore. It's not really helping anyway and I hate that it's messing with his tummy.
Tomorrow DD has dance pictures for her first dance recital. She tried her dress on last night and I almost died of cute. Then DH and I have a date night planned tomorrow- furniture shopping followed by dinner. What's more exciting than that?
ellabee, have fun tonight! Isn't it so nice to be going through similar life stages with your besties?
It really is. We trade baby/pregnancy gear and advice back and forth all the time.
Funny story: For about 2 years there was one of us (4 bffs) that didn't have kids. She would always plan get togethers at like 6pm for things she was hosting. Then she had a kid and instantly everything changed to morning/midday gatherings. I won't pretend it wasn't gratifying when she finally "got it" lol.
I had to wake up H this morning for eating before day care, poor kid it throws off his whole day when we wake him up too early. I went to pick him up last night and I could hear him screaming from the hallway of daycare. I finally get there and he was alone on the floor losing his shit. Side eye to the teacher who was 'just grabbing a pacifier from the kitchen'. I have to park the stroller and change shoes before I walk in the class room, I call BS. I do not like this teacher.

Work is slow today. I'm enjoying the calm since I have to stay late. I've even managed to polish my nails while pumping. Go me! Too bad we don't have a nap corner. DS1 was up twice with nightmares and coughing last night.

heybulldog56, this incident was at the center. Another time I walked in and same woman was cleaning up jelly beans from all over the counter/floor in the kitchen area of the room. She's all upset I see it, because it isn't allowed, even for teachers to eat because of choking. on the one hand, shit happens right? I'd hate to be judged on my bad days. however, it's my helpless kid, so I'm really struggling with asking to move rooms since I hope to be at this day care for years and don't want to make enemies / be labeled as THAT mom.
Do I wait for a strike 3? I don't really like this set of teachers either. suggestions?

LovesMeSomeCake, ooohhh I was imagining your baby left alone while teacher went to another room! Do you know how long infants stay in that room before moving up? If it's only a few months, I would wait unless something completely ridiculous happens.

the move them up at 14 months, so I have quite a while. I don't feel the room teachers are very warm, there are three other rooms I think I'm going to say something.

If you have a bad feeling I would definitely say something. Go with your gut. You need to be comfortable leaving your baby with them all day. Good luck!

Ladies, I took a big step today. I finally talked to my doctor about getting some anti-anxiety medication. I've been struggling with anxiety for awhile now (like years) and was just too scared to say anything. I don't know why, because I know how common anxiety and depression are (they both run in my family and I have a ton of family members on medication for any combination of things). She was so glad I said something and admitted she had been put on medication too in the past few weeks, which made me feel so much better. I can't wait to start getting back to how I used to feel. It's like a weight has been lifted off me! Anyway, I just wanted to put that out there, in case it encourages anyone else.

So tired. E has been crabby bc of her shots. It was pouring rain earlier but is now fine. E is now on a normal (not preemie) growth chart for weight and head size. They said her head grew a lot from her last appointment so I have to bring her back next month for a head growth check they want to make sure it isn't growing too rapidly bc it could be fluid in her head. The pedi doubts that is what is it though. Pedi said it was up to me whether I quit giving her bm or not. I am still undecided.

SHE FINALLY TOOK A BOTTLE
Little stinker held out for six hours. It appears that she wants it really really warm. Like, freshly pumped is too cold. And the level 2 nipple seems to be preferred, though I might try switching back to level 1 now that she has the hang of it. She took 3 oz from daddy, we took a break to eat lunch, and then she took another 0.5 oz from me.
I'm pumping now while she naps and daddy will hopefully give her one more bottle before he goes to work.
The other night F did 8-8 and it was great only I didn't . But we are back to 4am waking but nice to know he can do it. My partner took M out for the day so I had a run out to the shops and a nap, can't complain. I've been feeling off for a few days now and even the smell of certain foods made me feel worse so I might have POAS just to put my mind at ease. Negative thank god.
