WHAT?! I thought he had a mini cameo. My bad! How was it? H found a decent version on Kody so we might watch it tonight if the boss allows.
Nah, they did have a preview for Thor so I saw that but he was not in Guardians itself. The movie was good! Funny in all the right places.
You know, yeah. It's coming back to me now. I confused the marvel movies. They're all blurring together now. Everyone's in everyone else's movie. I'm glad you liked it!
Its a piece of tv equipment, you can watch any TV show or movie you can think of at any time, including ones still in the theaters (although sometimes quality sucks until it's been out a bit). It does kick ass but don't tell my husband I said that bc he's still convinced it's all we need for "television" purposes but I still want cable. It is kind of a PITA to use, it's basically a database of sorts where people share files and make them accessible to others to watch for free. It's so hard to explain. You can also get live TV feeds but they don't always come in. I guess perhaps it's illegal? Honestly I don't ask questions.
ETA I think ours is fine bc as I just read it did not come loaded with add ons.

Edit spelling
Not illegal (yet) since you are streaming rather than downloading We have Kodi downloaded on our laptop, but you can also get it on an android box to watch on TV
Yep! Just looked it up. Thank you! I can't believe others know about this thing.

kleigh, same thing! I just spelled it wrong. Shows just how much I'm able to use it lol.
@tgrimes1989, other than the A.mazon fire.stick we use to run it on, it's free. H looked up the steps online and had it up and running in less than an hour.

Apparently they are building to one huge storyline that brings Avengers and GotG together. It will center around the infinity stones that keep popping up.
H was telling me about that. I guess it makes sense now that everything is getting so interwoven. *shrug*

We're pooping and scream talking as loud as humanly possible instead of napping this afternoon. Both the diaper volume and decibel she can reach has been shocking.

I'm trying to search for that children's book thread we had a bit ago and am failing. Anyone remember what it was called? I thought just 'book recommendations' but that's not getting me anywhere.

I was just looking at it! I still haven't bought any new ones besides a couple from Costco but I added a hundred to my Amazon wish list.

Hey ladies super late check in here. It was my weekend to work in the ER so not much time to post. It was the first anniversary of my due date (so what should have been his first birthday) for our little Robin on April 29th. Truth be told I've been in a bit of a funk since then. Grief is so strange- I went several months with just thinking of him in passing most days and now the last few days it has been constant again. Ive had a hard time being on here because I find myself drawn to the loss boards, oddly enough. DS1 and 2 and a good distraction but man it still hurts like a bitch some days. Sorry for the mini rant - maybe should have put that in PPD/PPA check in

Huge, huge hugs. My loss anniversary was this past weekend and I totally get it. We're here for you, 100%.
And I've been trying to remember who has the same crib set as us with the dinosaurs. Is your kid obsessed with feeling the textures? C loves playing the corduroy and the circles.
I just saw this, but yes! He loves the different textures on that blanket. We use it for tummy time sometimes.

Since I already bumped the weekend thread...
sophiegrace, kleigh, can you watch sports with Kodi? I really want to not pay for cable anymore but the only thing holding H back is not being able to stream live sports.
Post by goldenlove3 on May 8, 2017 10:02:01 GMT -5
jubilantsquirrel If I hold C up, he always reaches for the blanket and will just play with it. I need to do more tummy time on it but last time he spit up all over it lol.
And re streaming sports. H said you can use Kodi but it might not be reliable just like everything else. We use Direct TV's streaming service but H said Playstation Vue might be a good option as well.
We stopped paying for cable years ago. It takes time getting used to using different means to watch TV but you just can't beat the cost savings.

Thanks! I'll have to let MH know. We don't have a Playstation, only an XBox, but I'm sure if we look around we can figure something out.
Re streaming stuff: We have Playstation Vue and the amazon fire tv box (not the stick because we wanted to connected directly to the internet, not just wireless). We get all the sports channels he wants plus all the network shows we watch. Most stuff is on demand and we can dvr whatever we want. I like it way better than the cable we used to have through AT&T. With the Fire, it's like having a smart tv (we don't cause why would we so we got the much cheaper regular one) plus all the channels streaming that we want.

You don't need a Playstation to use Playstation Vue, though an Xbox won't work. Here's what they say you can use:
Is PlayStation™Vue available on devices other than the PS4 and PS3 systems? Yep! You can enjoy PlayStation™Vue on a variety of devices, including a web browser, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku streaming device, Google Chromecast, and on mobile devices. In addition, PlayStation™Vue is available on select iOS and Android devices. Note: Accessing PlayStation™Vue on a mobile device requires first setting up a home location t hrough a supported device (PlayStation®4 console, PlayStation®3 console, Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku streaming decide, or desktop browser in your home network at www.psvue.com/watch) with internet access.
Yes jubilantsquirrel . The key with getting rid of cable is getting some type of streaming device like ChromeCast or Amazon Fire Stick. It's a must!!
I've been interested in the Amazon Fire Stick for a while now. It just didn't make sense to get it when we have cable and MH didn't want to get rid of cable because sports. But now that you've all educated me on the different ways to watch TV, I'm pretty sure I can convince him to get rid of cable!
jubilantsquirrel Yes you can watch sports as Goldenlove mentioned it's not always reliable but MH supplements with other means too. So we have not paid for cable or any service for over a year. That guy is a sports fanatic so if it were that inconvenient he'd just pay for cable, we make it work. There is a learning curve or adjustment period as was mentioned, but it's manageable.
So we have a Matricom G2 box and a smart Tv. That's all we use for the Kodi. H supplements with apps on his phone (like the NBC sports app) for certain soccer games and he has a Google chrome cast that he uses to stream it to the tv.
We also have Netflix and Amazon prime which I really don't need if you have Kodi.

kleigh, we also have a smart TV. We have Netflix and Prime, although I've never watched anything on Prime before. I'm thinking about getting rid of Netflix too. Every time I look up a movie I want to watch it's never available.
I'm excited to talk to MH about living a cable free life!
