Those that are getting/have the balance bike, what are your surroundings? Lots of sidewalk or long paved driveways? I'd love to get C one, but we live out in BFE (I'm on satellite internet, so ugh, clueless style). We have a long gravel driveway and acres of grass. Practical?

In lieu of gifts or a party, we are taking him on a "safari" at the San Diego zoo, and also a Dodger v Padres game. I might also take him to Legoland, but probably not. The best part of this "gift" to him is that it's going to take place on 4th of July weekend so we have an excuse not to hang out with my in laws!


Btw, we have an art easel from IKEA that works just fine. It's a little on the tall side but I figure he can grow into it and it also folds super flat so that's nice. It was $20

If anyone doesn't yet have a tunnel, Elena is obsessed with hers. Cheap, light, folds up when not in use.

We also have the IKEA art easel mrsbeachcat and JR loves drawing on the chalk side. We'll save the white board side for when she's a little older. Best $20 ever.

Crayola makes dry erase crayons. Best invention ever. They don't dry out and they are washable!

Also they work wonderfully on the table paper at the pediatricians office to help pass the time. And if there is an oops on the wall or table it comes right up with a wipe.

(I've just been covering it with butcher paper and attaching it with binder clips and letting him paint or use regular crayons but I like the idea of skipping the step)
