Thanks dukegirlsc! Great idea on the probiotic. I've got some on hand actually. DD1 has hers too and calls them her "promatics". It's the cutest thing ever.

I need some sleep advice. Our babies are 8 weeks old. We are on a 3 hour feeding schedule during the day with their last feeding falling around 11:30-12 at night. Baby Boy then goes to sleep and gives us at least a 4 hour stretch before the next feeding. Then they wake every 3 to eat. Baby Girl doesn't want to go to sleep after the midnight feeding, she's grumpy and nothing makes her happy. She is basically awake from 12-4 and then she may go to sleep after a lot of grumping. During the day they are on the same schedule. Her nighttime routine is killing me though. Any thoughts of what we can do differently?

I'm in this boat too. Was reading some articles while up from 1-3:30 (actually one of our better nights!) and these suggested a bed time between 6-8 pm? That seems early compared to what I did with DD1 but we're going to try that tonight. Im slowly dying from sleep exhaustion.
ETA: if baby girl is also crying/upset this entire time and then just suddenly stops for no apparent reason, she may have the Infamous 'colic' in which case it sounds like you're screwed for the next 4-6 weeks from what I've read

We do their bedtime routine around 8 and try to put them down and then "dreamfeed" around 11-12. Sometimes they sleep after their baths. Sometimes not. There is no consistency. She doesn't really cry, just fusses and won't take her paci to settle down to sleep. I don't think it's colic. She also has been spitting up like crazy. I've changed her formula to 3oz gentlease and 1oz AR at every feeding to try and help with that, so far I can't really tell a difference. This morning at 4 I changed her, fed her and put her in her RnP and let her grump herself to sleep. I couldn't think of anything else to do. She fell asleep within 30 minutes.

dukegirlsc, lol to "grump herself" that's a perfect phrase for what they do sometimes. I have no advice since our sleep routine clearly isn't working over here either 😩

does she have reflux? can you put a receiving blanket under the sheet to prop her head up a bit? I've also been using the mommy's bliss gripe water (night time blend).

@callmekd I don't know if she has reflux but we see the pediatrician on Tuesday and will ask him then. She's already in the rock and play so her head is elevated and I'm using the night time blend of gripe water, I can't tell a difference:(

I went in for my 32 week u/s and I have been on track of 1lb of baby growth per week. I have about 8.5lb of baby with 6 more weeks to go 😳. tell me it slows down.
Normally it does slow down, hurray for big twins though!

I'm sure you know to take those measurements as good guesses. Measurements for my 3 were off (over) by 12+ ounces. I delivered 12lbs of baby @37 weeks, so it's possible to stay on that path 😳 lol

I don't think we can tell you that 😏
At 35 and 5 I had 12lb of baby that came out. Sooooo. There's that.

Those measurements are almost always wrong +/-2 lbs. Mine were estimated 6.5 pounds each at 34 weeks and were born at 35 weeks about 5 lbs each.

my OB estimated that mine would be 6.5-7 lbs by 38 weeks. they were just under 5 lbs each at 35 weeks. that's good growth especially if they come early!

IT helped W immensely to be on baby zantac for a few weeks. I didn't ask until their 4 month appointment, though. The only thing gripe water ever did for us was make them stop crying for a minute because it tasted different.
dukegirlsc - nevermind just saw your reply. what happens if you don't dream feed her at 11pm?
I'm not sure we've tried that!
That was my first thought, too. My daughter would have been super grumpy if we'd tried to dream feed her. She just likes to sleep and be left alone. It's worth a try! And you can always add it back in if it's a total disaster.
I just realized something that might be genius. I pumped from day 1 so I have like 40 oz or so of transitional milk in the freezer. Nice, high fat, transitional milk. Maybe I'll get a longer period of sleep tonight after topping the girls off with this! Don't you worry- I'll update in the morning with how this went 🤗

Quoting myself because I'm sure you're all dying to know how my plan worked. Short answer: it didn't. CURSE YOU BABIES. Except I love you. You're adorable. And to be fair, it "worked" in that bed time of 8pm and sleeping until 1 is better than bed time of 9pm and sleeping till 1am. Here's to another caffeinated day! SaveSave

So it appears our sleep issue is that baby Girl has her days and nights mixed up. After another night with no sleep for her while her brother slept like a rock star I'm trying to reset her clock today, I am keeping her in the media room with noise and light and trying (and failing) to keep her awake more. I'm just at a loss as to what else to do to get her sleeping at night like her brother.

Ugh! That's so frustrating when one is sleeping so well and the other...just isn't. Good luck today!SaveSave
I have decided that there is nothing worse than that time after you put the twins down to sleep after a MOTN feeding and you just lie in bed listening to the squeaks, grunts, heavy breathing, etc and pray they are falling asleep, not getting ready to start screaming. Every muscle in my body is tense.

lol this is the story of my life. My girls sit in their cribs grumping for a long time after they eat and I lay completely still praying that they go to sleep.
I may have mentioned this before... somewhere I read that you should not get divorced within a year or three of having kids because it's such a big adjustment for the individuals and the relationship (excluding extreme cases like abuse). I've used that several times to take that off the table and talk to MH instead. Often talking is harder than giving up. I hope counseling helps you and YH work better together.
I think more people go through this than we think. DH and I have never fought so much in our lives than the first few months after having our oldest and then twins. It's SOO tough! But it does get better. Hang in there.
This article is so perfect for me to read today! Had a huge fight with H last night and this is basically the gist of our issue...
“As found in prior research, mothers experienced unmet expectations with fathers doing less than mothers expected. Fathers, on the other hand, experienced overmet expectations with mothers doing more than fathers expected.”
I guess we just press on and trying to figure this parenting thing out. But I swear to god if he goes out for a leisurely dinner with his family next mother's day (and texts me pictures of his steak) while I'm at home wrangling two babies....I may kill him.
How do you all deal with pinching? Or, how do you get your baby to stop doing things?
Z has discovered pinching, biting, and pulling hair. We've been relying on the way we dealt with the puppy (so saying ow! and no) and she just thinks it's funny. She reached out and knocked the cat off the chair (he was already in a precarious position, but she was definitely why he fell) last night and just laughed. THey'll be 8 months next week.

Right there with you nomnom and requiressnacks! DH had all 3 girls at his cousin's house Saturday for a whopping 2hrs 40 mins while I was at his cousin' s wife's baby shower down the street. On the walk to the car after I came to "rescue" him, he declared that if he gets a raise, he wants to hire a nanny to help me. :eye roll: I don't need a nanny, I need HIM to help a little more when he's home.
