I don't like the way they do sports these days where everyone is a winner. We aren't teaching the kids how to lose gracefully. They also aren't learning to cope with situations that don't go their way. I like 3 strikes your out and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
When DS1 played last time they stood at home base trying to hit the ball until they got 7 strikes! SEVEN!!!!
Work fucking sucks this month. I'm on our hardest rotation, the one that requires the most physical and mental energy. I worked over 70 hours last week, and that's not including time spend commuting or studying at home. I've already worked 27ish hours this week, in two days. Every night I come home and I am fucking exhausted and sore from head to toe.
I'll be on this rotation until July 1st. Fingers crossed I can survive that long. It's going to be a rough two months.
Fuck residency man. Just fuck it.
*stuck in the box*
Residency, so I'm told, is absolutely grueling. How you manage to be pregnant AND be in residency (plus deal with the other things you have going on), I have no words. Just...
Um baseball is the best and you are all wrong. Granted I was a competative softball player and I live in the world of the college world series. I have missed one or two series in my life.

Anyone else's boobs killing them all of a sudden? I feel letdown sensation and am so tender and sore. I'm assuming it's colostrum building up maybe?! I leaked with dd probably this early, so that's what I'm assuming?!

I'm not as far along as you, but I was noticing yesterday that they were more tender and kind of firm in some spots. It's subsided a little this morning.

I don't have letdown feelings but what used to be my favorite time of day is now my least favorite: taking off my public bras and switching to my home bras! Taking them off makes me realize how heavy and big my boobs have become! I know I need better fitting bras because mine are too small for how giant my boobs have become. I have old nursing bras and sports bras the fit but I prefer underwire for going out in public and I don't have any that properly fit.
I feel ya! It's like ripping off a bandaid taking my bra off.

I have learned a lot with my son about dinosaurs and sharks and with kids in general, I think we're always learning. I am very concerned about gender stereotypes and the damage they may do to children who are placed in boxes. It doesn't seem like that's what any of us are about though, rather determining our own children's interests. I do think it's important to not force things we do/don't like on our kids. But then again, we're tasked with ushering our children through life at this point so there's a lot of steering going on.
I love baseball and we're going to the Orioles at Nationals tomorrow night. It'll be a lot of fun but a looooong day.
I liked clothes that had affirming statements like "Busy Being Brilliant like Mommy" or "Genius." Often only available in the boys section so Team Pink moms, don't be afraid to venture. I hated clothes that said things like "Daddy's First Mate" or "Mommy's Whatever" and I hated "Handsome" and "Ladies Man" (gag me). We've already done away with those from LO1.

Mine are hurting less than in the beginning but I notice some sore lumps sometimes that I can usually gently massage out? Also I have a bit of white discharge some days and the nipples itch. I googled and all seems normal, but it's annoying to have itchy nipples in public ha!
Also...I've switched to coobie bras all the time, no underwire and I've got big boobs but feel supported. I sleep in them most nights, too. I highly recommend if anyone is looking for a new bra to try. I was skeptical of the sizing but have been pleasantly surprised!

@savien: are you a Nats or O's fan? DH is a hardcore Nats fan, we used to live by the stadium and would walk to go to games...oh the single/no kid life.
We had a mother's day brunch at DS school today. First there was a performance and I cried. It was so cute and all the songs were about loving their Mama's.

Going to brag on Cat and Jack again because they have GREAT girls' shirts with these kinds of phrases. SD has a "Genius" and "Future President" from the girls' section. They had a dinosaur one but we never found it in her size. They also have gender neutral tees online that are a little fitted, but not as much as typical girl clothing. From that, she has "Smart and Strong" and "Inventor," which she loves.
YES! I lovvvve their T-shirts! DD has the Future President one and a few different dinosaur ones.

wannabmama, super thrilled you like the coobies. They just came out with a new, larger size. I don't think it's in stores yet but it's in production. I'll keep you posted.
I also super love their tanks. They're long and stretchy. No bra but that's okay with me.

WHATTT?! You were local?
We're O's fans. MD natives
Yes, still are! I grew up in MD outside DC and now we're in northern VA. But living in Southwest DC during baseball was awesome, especially when they were not popular and you could get $5 seats for a random Sunday game
littleb92, we used to go to Nats games when they still played in RFK. It's crazy how much the Navy Yard area has grown and changed since the stadium went up. We usually trek up to Baltimore at least once a season.
Awesome that you're nearby. We're in the MD suburbs of DC.

Oh RFK...I remember games there too. And yes, Navy Yard has grown so much. We try to do one date night at Nats park a year for old times sake.
mambo, does this mean you can get some relief now? What do they do for it?
Meh there is a medication it doesn't necessarily help with the itching but it can. So relief maybe not but treatment yes. I'll have the medications and growth scans and NST tests and whatever the perintologist tells me to do.

RajahMD How much longer do you have? DS was born during the last year of MH's residency, so it wasn't quite as hard for him.
I finish up summer 2018. So I have a little over a year left. Baby will be born during my last year. But in Pathology, the last year is filled with studying for boards, so it won't be a breezy year.

Anyone else having cervical pain? I get it occasionally, but today I woke up with it and it's pretty constant. I'll probably call into my dr if it keeps up. I know baby is low, so he could just be sitting on it weirdly, just worries me of course. Cerclage and cervix looked fine last week but don't have another check for a week
