I need two-three Kindle book recommendations for my long weekend! Haven't gotten to read in a while, so I'm looking to make up for some lost time.
I definitely want something light, so I'm leaning towards YA or "chick-lit". Main rule is it has to be good. The last time I took a long flight I read Candace Bushnell's Killing Monica and it was so bad and I was sad.

I'm getting desperate for this house to sell. We dropped the price just now in hopes of getting more interest. Ugh I just want it gone so we can move on and be done with this place. I don't really want to carry the cost of a house once we leave.
Waiting for your house to sell is definitely a circle of hell. We dropped our price twice before it sold - but it sold within about a month. Have you thought about renting as a plan B? Try to release it. There's really very little you can do beyond keep it clean and hope for the best.
I briefly considered it. We rented out our last house and they still owe us several thousand that we will more than likely never see. After one bad experience I'm nervous to try again. We don't have a mortgage on this house so it's not a huge financial problem if we can't sell, but I don't want to keep paying insurance, hydro, and taxes on something we aren't using.
wineandcake, are there any property management companies in your city? They will take a chunk of the rent but will be on hand for repairs, collecting rent, vetting tenants, etc. Could be an option if you have to rent.

Nope. There is nothing here. I'm sure it'll sell eventually, but not much interest right now which sucks. It's only been a week, but I'm impatient and want it gone asap.
wineandcake, I am the same way. Our townhouse was on the market for almost 3 months and I was almost to the point of trying to rent it again and we got an offer.

Did anyone used to watch Rob and Big on MTV? I just saw that Big (Christopher "Big Black" Boykin) died. I'm so sad. He was the best.
yes!! DH and i used to watch it. i think we just stumbled upon it while channel-surfing. it used to crack us up. i hadn't thought about it in ages until i saw the news this morning.
vvvvvfee, I have a ton of favorite episodes but my all time favorite is when Big Black is a stripper and has a whole routine to the Thong Song. Please tell me you saw that one.

That was SO FUNNY. I loved that show. This news made me sad.
(My favorite episode was the one where Rob was Bobby Light. MH and I still sing that song to each other. "Bobby Light gonna do you right.")

Oh wow. When my mom picked up my dad's ashes this morning their wedding song was playing in the funeral home, and it's not even a song you hear that often (The Rose by Bette Middler). I'm not religious or spiritual but that is...something.
That is definitely something! Also I love that song. I used to sing it to myself in middle school. (I WAS REALLY COOL, GUYS.)
My preferred middle School song to sing to myself was Killing Me Softly. Truly, there was nothing cool before I came along.

lotsoflotts - urg, that sucks. Hope you (and the car) are okay!
lonegalathome - Do you think the buddy pouch would work over the waistband of a baby carrier? Most of the waist straps are a webbing type material, but something like this would be great for my vacation in the fall and I just put Noah up on my back.
pixiepink24 - that's cute! I can't believe you got it for free. I'm sure Willow will love it!
AFM, my pseudo-interview went great and I just got an email from the Business Director that I am her front runner and she wants me to meet with her Division Chief and some of the ED docs in the next week or so. She wants to be able to offer me the position as soon as it gets posted. She anticipates the guy currently in the position will have an offer next week and she will request the posting as soon as he gets an offer. Wow, I can't believe this is moving so quickly, but I'm flattered. It's a little scary though. I've been in my current position for 5 years. After meeting with the guy this morning though I quickly realized that I really should have been promoted years ago based on the work I do. In the new position, I will be essentially doing the same work I currently do (possibly less) but for more money. Go figure. I'm not complaining though. I just wish my current boss would have come through with a promotion before now. I also have a meeting tomorrow with the group I really really would love to work for. I figure if she knows I'm going to another division, it may light a fire for her to get her position open and get me in quickly. And if not, that's okay because the current almost-offer-on-the-table is still a good move.

360blessings, i think it would work over the mesh buckle part. I don't think it would work over the thick padded part - does that make sense? My Toddler Tula has a built in pouch so I haven't really tried it.

Yeah, I was thinking though if I used my Tula on my back (or my Kinderpack or Lenny Lamb SSC) putting this over the buckle part that would be on my front since i wouldn't be able to reach the pocket on my tula easily and my KP and LL don't have pockets.

I was really productive this morning but after lunch I just hit a wall. I'm tempted to take a nap while Kolby is asleep but I know he will wake up the moment I fall asleep.
We submitted an offer on a house last night, so now we wait! I'm pretty sure I may go crazy after this week. We're starting the move into our rental this weekend. My kids are driving me crazy. My life in a few sentences.

360blessings It's pretty cool! I still have to take it apart and see if we can get the fountain and doorbell to work again. It needs a good deep cleaning before paint too.

360blessings I'm fine thankfully! DH was able to pick me up and he got the car home later. It died a couple times on the last mile back, but it's home now and he's working on it!
I was seriously just wondering if it would be cool to wear palazzo pants to the office this summer. I've seen a few of the artsy design ladies do it, but I'm more math and planning. Not sure if I could pull it off. Those pants are cute cornpop311!
lovemyirishtwins that is the brand! They're $$$ but they support an amazing cause and are really comfy so I caved and got them.
Ha! I didn't realize it was the same brand. Our moms group has a man exec member in charge of charity. Each month we focus on a local charity and then a business that gives back or has a good cause. This was the business featured this month.
My friend said she loves the pants. So if you don't have them yet, I am sure you'll love them. Totally acceptable to wear this summer.
I don't know how I think I'm going to handle #2, I barely keep afloat with DS right now. I was so upset/frustrated this evening that I was in tears. He got his cast wet at the park and I was trying to use a hair dryer (on cool) to dry it out. He, of course, was having none of it.
Now DH is all concerned because of how I have been struggling with Kolby lately. It's hormones dude...plus a toddler in a full leg cast. It's stressful.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here. Thanks for listening.
