Not much going on here today. I worked out with my trainer, but kept it light because I think I pulled something in my back. Now I'm at speech therapy with Lucas and ry and we have a showing in a few hits so I'm going to have to keep them out of the house.
Dh is being sweet abut me leaving. We are going to rent a movie and order takeout as an "in-home" date night tonight since I leave tomorrow.
Hey guys - I don't know if you remember I told you about my friend who was fostering a little boy, well all the paperwork has gone through and she will be permanently adopting him later this month. She has planned a big baptism/adoption day party and I really want to get her something special. I was going to get her something similar to this but without the religious reference b/c she is not very religious, but she told me she already ordered a sign like that.
So I am looking for some good ideas for her.
Background, she is 40+, single mom who did not think she would ever have kids. This has been a dream come true for her. Her son is about 18 months and she's had him since 2.5 months.
Does anyone have suggestions for breakfast on the go for C? If he sits down to eat we will never get out of the house in the morning but we've been relying on Dunkin' Donuts too much since he got sick of the muffins I was making. Any suggestions for something he can eat in the car?
Granola bar? Pouches? Dry cereal in a snack container?

My kids only eat dry cereal. They might be weird.
wedding we do a lot of the above. Yogurt pouches are a big hit. and cheese (string cheese or he loves those babybel round cheeses. Plus we do a lot of eggos and things like that that he can eat on the fly.
We don't usually do breakfast in the car (our day care is less than a mile from our house) but we oftenbring it with us and those quick portable items are our go to-s
I made my first blue apron meal this evening. Firstly I don't like how it comes packed, hello fresh is much better. I cut my thumb when I was chopping the bok choy. Otherwise I liked it, and it was something I would never pick to cook myself in a million years. Very spicy too. But H is eating it so it must not be that bad.

wedding, honestly C does best with a "snack cup" for breakfast. It might have things like cheese, honey nut cheerios, crackers, peanuts, blueberries, apple slices, raisins, Turkey pepperoni, ect. I always just make sure I at least offer him a protein, carb and fat in the snack cup so it's somewhat well balanced.

Well, Cadence had a better day, but she did hit one of her friends. When you ask her why she hit her Cadence says because she was going to hit her first. In other words Cadence retaliated before there was anything to retaliate to. So, an improvement, but not perfect. We'll keep working on it.
I keep thinking it's Thursday and wondering why everyone is posting in the Wednesday thread...
Just got home from a workout class. My biceps are still burning. Putting h to bed and then heating up my dinner that I so kindly made the rest of the family before I went.

S has 2 close friends at D.C. - R and H
The other day at pick up R ran up to me and said S had hit him in the chest. I asked S about it and he said H hit me!
So by the transitive property of hitting I guess they were all even?!
Colin was better with his teachers today but one of his friends kept them all awake during naptime, so he was once again a wreck at pickup. Screaming, crying, kicking... He calmed down as soon as we got to the car, at least, so we had a nice enough drive home and I didn't have a breakdown. So it was an improvement over Monday, at least.

I MAY have told her that we never take the first swing, that puts you at fault. Wait and take the second swing because then it's self defense. Mh got pissed and said, "how about we say no fighting" Me: well, right, no fighting, BUUUUUT if she HAS to fight, then don't swing first. Besides, if we teach her to wait and be second, then she'll never hit because these other kids aren't actually planning to hit her.
Paging scary movie people ( klongoria11, cagoldi, xolastunicornxo) The Disappointments Room is on Netflix. It's okay. Worth a watch but not scary at all. More of a psychological thriller.
My mom is a saint. For real. She's taking the next couple days off of work to watch X so we don't have to miss our trip. My sisters were going to do it but since he's inconsolable my mom feels like she should be here.
Sunny41 I like CA Adventure but I agree that for young kids you want to stick to the main park if you only have one day.
wedding we do any of the following: fruit cup, muffins, frozen waffles, Yves vegan sausage, a banana, dry cereal (Envirokids gorilla puffs is all he'll eat), fig bars, wheat toast with PB, "teddy bear toast" (also just wheat toast with PB but bananas and chocolate chips for eyes, ears, nose and mouth), Clif Bar.
Update to the Jimmy John's discussion we had several weeks ago:
There actually is at least one in my area. I saw it yesterday on my way back from taking X to the pedi. Also, an alleged photo of him naked and humping a dead shark has emerged.
He denies it's him, but they definitely look like him!

It sure does! Why in the effing world would someone do that?!
They're a sick fuck who likes trophy hunting?
I expect nothing other than depravity from those monsters.
