I clicked 3, but it is really a toss up between 2 and 3.
Typical schedule- Up at 7 Nap 1 at 9 Nap 2 at 12 Nap 3 at 4 Bedtime 630
Sometimes his second nap doesn't happen until 1ish, so he doesn't have a third nap. His naps are always better if we're home all day, or if we're only out during his awake windows and he doesn't cat nap on the go, but that rarely happens.
I'd say 3 is typical, but schedule is easily disturbed by big brother.
Up at 7 9:00 - hour nap 12:30 - 2 hour nap 5:00 - cat nap 7:15 bed
But it's really dependent on what we're doing. Sometimes he'll get a late morning nap in the stroller or carrier, the long afternoon nap will be later, and he won't have an evening cat nap.
We're really struggling with the afternoon/evening nap timing. If he doesn't get a nap in, he's a grumpy mess and it's hard to get him through dinner. But even a short nap too late makes him hard to put to bed.
Thanks for the input! I think we're hitting the transition from 3 to 2, but that last wake time if there's no cat nap is killer. I'm seeing her middle nap need to be later and later, but it won't coincide with dd1s nap if I go with it. Which is a little selfish of me for not wanting to. But we'll see.
