State testing is over!!! So happy to have that behind me! 10 more days and it's summer break for us. Light at the end of the tunnel.
My week has gotten so overloaded next week, I can't find time to fit anything else in but I have to. You may find me in a puddle of nothingness by the time it's over.
I think the house we made an offer on is a no-go. It's priced too high (according to comps), and they gave us a hard-line that is still too high in our opinion. So, that's a bummer. We haven't talked with our realtor yet, but I think we're going to step back and let them come back to us when they realize we're giving them a good deal. Or someone else could come and give them all the money, but I doubt it. We were on the market long enough in the same neighborhood to have a feel for what kinds of buyers there are. Sucks

imavera it was years ago, but that's how my SIL got her house - the sellers had it listed too high and rejected their offer, then approached them a few months (!!!) later, because they were the highest pre-approved offer.
So hey, you never know. In the mean time, new stuff is listed all the time. You'll find something!
I never thought I'd say this... I found a dog that I want. My friend has an almost 2 year old cockapoo(name?). This dog is awesome. Feels like a Build a Bear, snuggly, doesn't shed, not a yippy bark, friendly with kids. I want it. I confessed to my husband. He thinks I'm pregnant. He had a vasectomy so I'm not sure what he's smokin. Dog will not be a part of our life until we have baby #2 and said baby is over 1 year old. Ain't nobody got time for two living beings in the house who are not potty trained!
So we are fired from taking Kolby to the park. Tonight he went down a fast slide and knocked his head on the side. I'm pretty sure it may bruise overnight. Hopefully not.
Sorry to hear about the house imavera . Hopefully they come around.
Thanks. It's just another step in this extremely frustrating process.
I'm sorry. Real estate really sucks. I find the whole process to be so stressful and uncertain. I don't know how realtors do it (rachydc).
We were set to buy a house- paid for the inspection and everything- and our buyers backed out. The sellers got scared and wanted to take away $10,000 they were giving us in closing costs. We backed out because their house isn't worth any more money because they are inconvenienced. We ended selling our house to new buyers a week later and found a much better house for the same price. They ended up selling about 6 months later for way less than we were going to buy it for.
I'm a strong believer that everything works out in the end and I wish you luck!
imavera , wells2010 , jnetx , The housing market is f'n insane right now (in a weird/bad-ish way) and no one can really explain why. I havent been in the business that long, but everyone in my office has compared it to the beginning of the housing bubble burst. Of course I dont think we'll see that again, but man, WTF is going on?!? Thank god I still have my FT job. If I had to do real estate full time and depend on it for income, I dont know how Id survive.
imavera So annoying. We had to put in offers on three houses before one finally worked out. I'm glad we ended up here--the first one was older and more expensive, leaving no room for upgrades and repairs that would definitely be needed. The second was the same age as this one and in great shape but no guest room/office and no room to use as a playroom. We definitely would have been cramped. My H stalks houses we were interested in on HAR and laughs at them every time they reduce their prices.
It's all such a crazy experience! I'm the HAR stalker
We were going to put an offer on a house almost a month ago, but their realtor never responded to ours after repeated calls/texts/e-mails and then we saw that it went pending. It sold a few days ago for over 10K below what we were going to initially offer. We've had some time to get over that one, so it's pretty amusing to us.
The house we're dealing with now is being dealt with by 7 children after the mother died, so there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen.
