Tell us something awesome about having multiples

I thought this would make everyone smile a bit, whether you're pregnant with multiples, having a rough period with your multiples, or having an amazing period with your multiples. We spend a lot of time on this board (appropriately) commiserating, but especially with Mother's Day around the corner, tell us something you love about being a parent of multiples!

I'll go first: I love, love, love watching their personalities develop simultaneously and yet so completely differently from one another. I was always afraid I would have a favorite, but I'm really happy and relieved to say that I love them both equally in amazing, unique ways.

I was sitting earlier with both 6 day olds on my chest, on "their" sides that they were in in utero, and started crying from happiness that they're here and they're well. I can't wait to watch their personalities develop and have been surprised at my almost instant fierce protectiveness.

Like jd, I just love watching their unique personalities develop. I Also love watching them get to know and love each other. They are at such a fun age where they chase each other across the floor, stroke each other's hair, etc. I'm loving it so much.

At 7 months old, I love how they're starting to interact with each other. When they're in the jumperoos, they laugh and smile at each other. They also try to grab each other whenever they're close enough to touch. I'm sure it'll get even more fun as they become mobile!

We were remembering how excited we were when they began to really "see" each other. It seems silly now because they've come such a long way in how much fun they have together and how interactive they are. People weren't kidding when they say the twin thing starts to pay off as they get older!

I love that we were able to have the 3 kids that we had always hoped for. After a lot of tears, struggles and a loss, we were happy to be pregnant. Finding out it was twins was an amazing shock. Neither of us will ever forget that moment. I love to see them interact with each other and with their big sis. It's such a crazy and amazing experience.

1. They play with each other.
2. They can comfort each other when MH and I can't get through to them.
3. I only had two pregnancies to get four kids .
4. It's easier to deal with two kid who have approximately the same needs than two kids who have different needs (at different ages).
5. If I can get one of them to do or eat something, often the other is more willing to try it.
6. Since my first pregnancy was twins, they will never miss being an only child because it never existed.
7. When MH and I are old, crotchety, and broken, there won't be undue burden on any single person.
8. Giggles from their bedroom when they're supposed to be sleeping
9. They can split a regular adult meal at a restaurant instead of getting kids' meals (often cheaper and better food).
10. I don't have to choose only one cute outfit each day. I get to choose two (or now four with both sets)!
11. With cloth diapers, I have to wash them anyhow, so why not just throw more of them in the washer (as long as it's not overloaded)?

it never fails to make me smile when I see my twins holding hands while walking, even 6 years later. The special bond they have is so precious. While I worry that they are too dependent on each other and push them to make their own friends at school, I love that they always have each other.

The sweet moments are the best. The hand holding. When they race each other crawling down the hall and giggle uncontrollably. Swoon.

I also like that I'll never have to have the mom guilt thoughts of OMG I'll never be able to love another baby like my first, I'm taking too much of me away from my only child by having another, etc., etc. They've always had my split attention and it's been enough. I've always been able to love multiple children wholly and fully. Basically, if we do have another baby someday, although it will change things, I think I (and they) will adapt pretty easily without as much guilt. Or at least that's what I tell myself.

Guys, I dare those people to come in here with their "omg, I can't imagine twins!" and "omg, you must never sleep!" and "omg, how do you do it?!" Multiples are amazing and I absolutely loved reading your stories. For those of you still in rough patches, can you even believe you're going to get all this awesomeness?

The fact that I can leave them in their cribs for almost an hour after they wake up is heaven. They spend time talking and jumping and playing together. It makes me so very happy!!
They learn from each other and they comfort each other. I couldn't ask for anything better.

The empathy they have at 18m far surpasses that of their peers.
The giggles, OMG the giggles!!!
The concern for eachother- we had our first separate parent child dates today and while I relished the time alone with one child, it was so sweet to see them come back together!
They've started tackling eachother and it's adorable.

Being able to say i survived the newborn stage with twins. Feels like a huge accomplishment especially when you here singleton parents complain, i feel like wonder woman sometimes! Lol
And of course watching thrie bond grow. So awesome!

Well my pic won't post for whatever reason. But for me it's the super sweet moments like seeing the babes hold hands while nursing. Singletons never get to see that awesome site.

Also just the daily accomplishment of keeping TWO babies alive and happy. Still in shock/denial I have twins....I feel this may be a lifelong shock for me.

I'm late, but lots of the above. Mine finally started noticing each other and smiling a lot. I love that they are growing up with a playmate.

And I feel like a badass when I tell people I have twins.

Oh, and matchy matchy outfits. That's so fun and so cute.

My favorite is the dual hugs when I get home from work. They both come running and wrap their little arms around my neck (and only sometimes shove each other, lol). I'm sure you get some degree of that with 2 close in age, but not with the perfect balance/symmetry of twins.

Repeating some of what has been said, but watching their individual personalities develop. This morning, when they were yelling "whale!!!" at each other for no appreciable reason.

seeing the love they have for each other. When I ask them to hug or hold hands they do it, and it's so cute. Built in best friends.

Mine are 8 now and once you get past the first few years, it's awesome having two the same age. Having kids of different ages now just seems so complicated.

Hey so since we are here talking about funny things about having multiples, let me share my insights with you all. Though funny it is indeed but now I find that it absolutely normal to pick babies one by one and smell their butts. I have now realized the value of sound sleep and now I can practically sleep anywhere. When both of them are playing around in the house and all of a sudden there is a silence, I get scared and petrified. I have now gained patience and now run towards vomit on the floor instead of running away from it. It is when I feel that I have not got alone time in ages and as soon as I get alone and away from them, i am lost again. I hope these are few things that you all must be relating to by now.
