I confess I feel Mother's Day is more important than Father's Day. Yes, you are a dad and you are awesome, but the shit women go through during pregnancy, birth, labor, and day to day tasks? Not even in the same ball park.

I agree so much. I am the default parent, so I deal with so much more parent stuff. Maybe there should be a "happy default parent day"
Also, as a sahm, spending the whole day (mothers day) with my kids isn't a gift. I should get to spend the day away from them.
My husband is spending today with his brother watching some miniseries they've been wanting to watch together.
He told me he didn't know what to get me for Mother's Day. I told him 3 weeks ago I wanted a day to myself. He said "oh yeah, now I remember." I'm taking a rain check for later in the summer when I need a break!

Quoting you again because so true! I'm not a SAHM but I am the default parent. And I'm a teacher so I spend all summer with the boys. But even during the school year I take on so much more than MH.
