Just holding my sleeping baby, DH went home to get the kids from school, I am excited for them to meet Nathan. While I am hanging out I figured I would write my birth story.
Woke up on the 11th with a lot of pink and red bloody show. I had contractions for awhile, but they stopped. Went to my doctors appointment, and he said I was 5cm 80% eff. I went home and went about my business, made hamburgers for dinner, ate as a family, homework, cleaning up, the usuals. Around 6 I started getting contractions that were 6-7 minutes apart, this time they were more in my back, and more intense. Did my usual bedtime stuff with kids, stopping to focus each contraction. Debated going in, or just waiting till my induction at 730 am. I was beyond scared they would just say it was prodromal labor, and send me home for a few hours. They started to get harder and longer, 3-4 mins a part, and by 1 am I threw in the towel. We left to the hospital and I was only 6 cm after all of that, but in active labor.
I went with out an epidural till I was 7cm at 3 am, then gave in. The epidural only worked on one side, it was so painful for about 30 minutes until they called him back in to give me another bulous dose. It worked this time. Slightly numb on the right super numb on the left. 1 hour later I was fully dilated, but too numb to push, so they turned off the epidural for 30 minutes. Then I pushed 4 times and he was out, so incredibly adorable and sweet.
