Ironic to spend Mother's Day without one's children? Maybe, but all I wanted was a day to do nothing! And I got it 😊
Nope. That's how my mom always spent Mother's Day. I never understood why she wouldn't want to spend it with me since she was my mom. Now I get it, though I'm happy to soak up the baby snuggles, next year I'm sure I'll be passing off a toddler.
My husband came through and made my mother's day a complete success; waffles with raspberries and homemade whip cream for breakfast followed by a walk in a local park I have never been to. While there he surprised me with a picnic lunch and wine. He took pictures of me with Q and it was perfect. We are now on our way home where he said he would help me fill out Q's baby book. I am a very happy momma right now.

The dog woke me up at 1:30 needing to poop, then N was up at 3. But DH let me sleep in until 8. I could have slept longer possibly if he tried to give her a bottle, but she was crying and it woke me up.
I made eggs and toast for breakfast, got to take a leisurely shower, DH took pictures of me with the kids like I requested.
Then I had to run out for my pedicure so I haven't looked at the pics yet. Got Starbucks on the way. My toes are currently drying.
Good day overall. I could use a nap but I need to grocery shop and get ready for work tomorrow
Did I mention I found a box of super old family photographs in my grandma's basement? Early 1900s, some might be a bit earlier like the 1890s tintype. Yep. Tintype. A metal photograph. The history nerd in me is freaking out. Both because holy crap how amazing and holy crap I need to preserve this asap. I've already contacted my museum friend for suggestions.
Me right now as I start scanning some into the computer for safe keeping.
Mr. Mango for the win! That sounds like a perfect day ambiguousmango!
it really was the best and I can't think of a single thing that would have made it better. I know I had said we were having trouble and fighting but days like today give me hope.
Well, this was not how I envisioned my Mother's Day. Currently in the ER with B waiting on an ultrasound.
He was fine all day, but then all of a sudden started screaming bloody murder. He was a 10 on the anger scale and I couldn't do anything to cam him down. He was definitely in pain and my pediatrician BIL advised us to take him in to get him checked out.

I'm pretty awful at keeping up lately.
I hope everyone had an awesome Mother's Day today - sounds like most of you did!
Mine was really lovely, if busy. My big girl was well behaved and sweet, my baby girl was pleasant for the most part, and my husband did his best to keep my stress level to a minimum. I got to spend time with my family, and H and the girls got me sweet gifts... including fancy schmancy chocolate covered strawberries.
