We have a long to do list this weekend! We have already returned items to BRU, gone to Costco, and been grocery shopping. We still have a few more errands and then major organizing and nesting!
H is out of town so I want to get a fair amount done. Some things on my list: - Car maintenance (dropped off yesterday, picking up today) - Prep cloth diapers - Light house cleaning - Organize baby stuff - Make and freeze cinnamon rolls (some for when my family is here next weekend, some for freezer stash) - Finish a vacation photo book
I've decided that it's crunch time over here for baby prep . DS was born at 38+2, and that's just over two weeks away. So last night we reorganized all the car seats (or rather, I did until I got frustrated trying to fit three across and climb around in the backseat with my giant belly, and cried and made DH take over) and installed a new slimmer one for DD in DH's tiny car. Now at least we can bring baby home from the hospital in either car.
Today DH is going to get all the baby stuff - bouncer, swing, etc. -down from the attic so we can set up and wash everything.
For Mothers Day tomorrow we're going to go to the zoo in the morning. We have passes but haven't been all year.
Otherwise normal weekend stuff with the kids. The Y, maybe swimming, probably some playgrounds
I hope everyone has a great and productive weekend!

My mom is throwing me a baby sprinkle today with family and close friends. I'm going to stop by the store on my way over to my parents' house in case I find an outfit I like better than the one I'm wearing now. Tomorrow we may do breakfast/brunch with my mom, maybe play some board games at my brother's apartment to do an early birthday celebration. Nothing is really planned out, though, so we might just stay home and be boring. The weather here changed from mid-70s and gorgeous to mid-50s and rainy over the past couple days, so it isn't conducive to taking DS to the park.
Today is a do nothing stay at home day. I slept horribly the last two nights and feel exhausted. Trying to figure out what to make for supper and have no inspiration whatsoever.
Tomorrow we're planning to go to the city with my parents and go to the zoo. DS has never been before and I think he'll enjoy it because he loves animals. I'm looking forward to hearing "woah" a lot in his adorable little voice 😊. Hopefully I sleep better tonight and the weather is good tomorrow!

I told my DH that I won't want to do anything all weekend and I'd consider that a successful mother's day. I actually didn't have to wake up to pee last night and slept til 8am so I consider that a big fat win! DH took DD out to an art show related to his work so I'm staying home and watching Rock of Ages, one of my favorites I've been wanting to watch lately. We also have 2 bottle baby kitten orphans for the weekend so I'm on baby duty. They are such tiny little squeaks.
I was in a wedding last night. My body hurts today. The swelling in my feet/ankles never went down after last night. My right foot/ankle is a little worse than the left. DH and I took C to swim lessons this morning. DH will be taking over for me for the next couple of months. C is doing his first overnight tonight and DH and I are going birthday shopping (for C) and out to dinner and hopefully home to watch a non kids movie, chances are we will both just fall asleep on the couch within the first 20 minutes.
Today was dd1 birthday party. It turned out great and the weather was better than expected! We spent hours outside and it was relaxing while the kids all ran around. Tomorrow we are going to the indoor water park for mother's day. I've started my to do list and have been checking things off here and there.
Someone in the neighborhood posted a free pottery barn changing table on Nextdoor. We were just going to use the pack n play with changing attachment - with the other two kids we used their dressers. Amazingly it was still at the curb when I drove by a few hours later. It's in really good shape too. Now the tiny nursery/former closet is almost done!
mreve - Sorry for the bad sleep. Enjoy the zoo tomorrow!
applemuffins - Glad you got some "me time"! Sounds like a great Mother's Day gift!
sabrinaml - Sorry for the swelling! I'm sure I'll be sitting down at the wedding we're only guests at in a few weeks. I can't imagine being in one at this point!
Our friends we love seeing, but we never seem to get together (they live an hour away) came down today. It was a nice, last-minute surprise! We were going to take the kids to this new place they opened up around here, but ended up just letting the kids play and we all just talked. Great way to spend the rainy day!
Today was long. But DS went to bed early and I just have to do some dishes before I can follow him.
sabrinaml I was involved in a cousin's wedding at about 35 weeks in my last pregnancy and at the end of the day I could barely take my shoes off and in the morning my feet were still huge. It also seemed to be worse in one foot than the other!

Yesterday was our first family day in over a week because DH has been out of town for 8 days. It was so nice! He took DS to dad's story time at the library. After nap, we went to see an antique truck we found on Craigslist then went shopping at the arcade that's closing in town. We bought nothing but had fun looking. Some friends stopped by to visit and then DH and I got some much needed alone time after DS went to bed.
I've been exhausted today since DS was up twice last night and I was in his bed from 11-1:30. But husband made me delicious pancakes for a late breakfast then I took a nap.
I'm about to start packing my hospital bag. I also packed an overnight bag for DS. The in laws are not coming until 38 weeks and I was worried once last week I'd have to go to the hospital while DH was away. So it motivated me to pack some things even though I'm only 33.5 weeks.

Got my hair cut yesterday. It was getting unruly and I won't be able to handle it in a few weeks. Ordered a cake and cupcakes since DS is 3 on Friday.
Slept late after getting up at least 5 times last night to pee. I swear any fluid intake multiplies... one sip of water at 3am=10 second pee at 4. HOW?!?!
Anyway, we just sort of decided to clean today. We boxed a ton of DS's toys that he's grown out of and put them in the attic. I feel so accomplished with less clutter, and we will have less to do next weekend as we have some family coming over for DS's birthday. DS actually helped and it was nice that he could make some decisions on what aren't "big boy toys". Goodbye little people farm, plane, bus... and all the animals and farmers and people that came with them!! And also, those Lego blocks are gone. I feel a lot better!
Heading to get a new shower head that detaches (to fill up that baby tub we will be needing) and excited for an early dinner at the outback!! Damn I need a steak and a loaded baked potato
The zoo was fun. DS wasn't as interested in the animals as I had hoped - most were just laying around somewhere and hard for him to see. He did love the penguins and flamingos. His favourite thing was the airplanes that were consistently flying over to the airport. I don't think he missed a single one and made sure we didn't either!
We got home earlier than expected so now we're driving again to go for supper with DH's parents and brother/SIL. I'm just glad I don't have to figure out what to make for supper and hope it's not too long of a day for DS.
