Good morning. It's raining and thunder storming here today. H gets really excited when she sees lightning/hears thunder. So we will probably just stay home today. H and I are still coughing, a few more days and I will contact her pedi again.

I went to moe's for lunch. They were out of steak, taco shells and sour cream. And they didn't tell anyone until the front of the line. The woman behind me waited in line over 15 minutes and then didn't get anything since she was there for steak tacos.

That's super annoying. Someone should have ran to the grocery store to get those things until their shipment came in. And they should have put up a sign.
We didn't get out of bed until 8 today! 🙌🏻 We all needed to catch up from the busy weekend (except H, he went to work at 7 something). We've just been at home, back and forth between playing inside and outside. I finally potted the flowers I bought last weekend. DD is down for a nap now and DS and I are going to lounge on the couch for as long as I can talk him into. I'm letting him watch tv.
DD finally said "puppy" today. I've been waiting on that one for awhile. And then she pants/breathes like a dog, it's so cute. She's up to about 25-30 words now. There's no shortage of talking in this house, from anyone. 😳🤷🏻♀️

I stained our small deck this morning and now it's raining. I covered it with a tarp so I hope that works..
I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for the mail person to come today because I ordered some sleek new running shoes I must hide from DH...
DD is on hour 3 of her nap and the boys are playing nicely together so I am drinking some coffee and reading a book. I bought it probably two months ago and opened it for the first time yesterday.
This morning when I was staining the deck, one of the "problem child's" at MILs daycare climbed up the big tube slide and couldn't get down. I watched her for a few minutes and no one went to help her so I started walking over there. My FIL who was outside with the kids gave me a death look like I should mind my own business. I kept hearing him tell her to get down but wouldn't go help her. He is so hard to read sometimes. When I was younger my friend fell off the top of one of them at the park and had to have a few surgeries to fix her face. I would hate for that to happen to a child at daycare and for my mil to have that happen on her watch. I also feel bad for said child because she doesn't have a great home life and all she wants is someone's attention so I feel as though she acts out because of that I continuously tell my monkeys not to climb on that so I hope they continue to listen.
Right before lunch H told me she had a bug in her ear. I looked in with my flashlight and it was super red. I took her into the doctor and sure enough she has an EI. I also talked to her about my cough and she thought it was sinus related so she prescribed amox. Hopefully we are both better in a couple days.
mrssmith613 what shoes did you get? Was that little girl crying at the top of the slide? Obviously if she can get herself up there then she can get herself down but if she was in distress and freaking out I would go help.

Brooks ghost 9. I got them like half off because they're going to be coming out with the 10 soon. I get that if she got up she can get down but she was trying and saying she needed help. She couldn't get her foot in the right place. It was one of those big tubey swirly slides that for some reason kids think they need to climb on the outside of.

Sorry if it didn't seem like it, I was agreeing with you and side eyeing your FIL.

It totally didn't occur to me earlier that Monday meant new randoms thread. I spotted this one after I had posted. Oops.
We are getting new windows and a patio door! They came to measure today. I hope the turn around time is quick, we're down to one window in our whole house I can open and warm weather is coming. I'm so glad this is finally being dealt with I was about at my wits end. Now we'll see if they address the crack in the foundation. Oh, and our ensuite toilet appears to be leaking so we'll be contacting the super again.
I had a good birthday/mother's day weekend. But very busy. And now it's back to reality. We are all fighting off colds now. DD may have an ear infection too. She was quite upset when I picked her up from daycare today. One of the teachers said that ear infections are going around again. So fingers crossed it misses her, but it might be too late.
In semi related news, I realized I forgot to put DD's soother in her cubby at daycare before i left today. I thought about going back but decided not to. I was convinced they would end up calling me during nap, because that's what she uses it for. But they didn't. So I was like, hmm maybe this will be the beginning of getting rid of it. When I went to pick her up, I discovered she had DS's soother stashed in her pocket. Very sneaky, that one.

I am taking a sick day today. I've got sinus issues. I would have pushed through but I was up with DD for about 2 hours last night. She has a new tooth this morning. She now has top and bottom molars on the left side so I guess the two on the right will be here soon.

Hope you feel better and the next teeth go easy on her!

My Mom randomly suggested I get X a water table yesterday on her dime, so we went right out and got one. :-P He loves it!
I have library books that are a few days overdue, so we need to take them back today. Maybe I'll try to get to Zumba if it works out. He hasn't been to childcare there in a few weeks because we were away and then he was sick. So I'm sure that will go really well. I need to start going more often so he gets used to it.
Right now I'm counting until nap so I can eat my breakfast in peace and catch up on the SOTF and Parenting thread that blew up.

Last minute trip to FL ... so we're on the beach!
MH had a work trip down here, and I need to actually take my vacation days instead of wasting them, so here we are in a work paid for hotel on the beach!
DD is a freaking suicide machine. After initially being really unsure of/not enjoying the loose sand, girl is running straight into the water. Back at the hotel's pool, she's lunging out of arms and madly immersing her whole face with glee. Crazy kid. I'm scared to wrangle her and DS this week on my own!

I'm sitting outside the mall waiting for it to open and S is sleeping. I think old navy is having a sale (aren't they always) so I'm going to check it out.

What happened? Synopsis?
Basically people think it's not going to be any bigger than what it is now, and the goals the admin have are too big for just 3 people with busy personal lives. So they want more transparency.
I only read the site wide post though, not the parenting post.
For some reason my right hip is super stiff today. It kind of started last night. It's like I have some big knot somewhere and it hurts to move, especially sudden movements like coughing or sneezing. I've been sitting or laying on a heating pad a lot today. I scheduled a massage for Friday but now I'm wishing I booked one earlier.
Thankfully dd and ds have been very cooperative. They have played where I could watch them, and took 2+ hr naps.
It's a bit wild. I survived solo morning #1, and DD has about half a dozen full face dunks. Only two were unintentional, so I'm calling it a win.
I bought a water ring sling, but she's not too into it sadly. But she's also learning some patience - taking turns with DS to jump in etc, so it's not too terrible.

musicalsilver I would definitely need a second, if not third, adult to attempt the pool with this gang. I can't even walk from the car into a building with everyone walking nicely and listening to instruction!
swim I hope your hip relaxes and you get relief soon.
DD1 cried this morning because she didn't get to see DD2's poop before DH cleaned it up. All I hear is DH, "Are you seriously crying because you want to see poop?"
Then I come out to find DD2 with her dress all neatly tucked into her leggings. Haha. DH said he thought it was a dress shirt. It does button up and have a collar so I will give him that but it made me chuckle.
