I don't have plans today besides maybe the gym later this morning. I slept horrible last night and got up to pee like every hour so I'm hoping DS1 wakes up in a good mood.
It's a rainy few days so I'm not sure we're going to be able to get outside today. Might do some crafty things with DD1.
Also may start to tackle our guest room closet. It's the one area I didn't organize in the house. Last week I set up a little area for DD2 in the guest room, and now I want to make room in the closet to keep toys down for DD1 because I don't want them in the living room. I'm thinking I'll take the doors off of the closet, put up some curtains and put a cubby shelf in there. I also have to keep space for my craft stuff and our extra blankets. This room needs to serve a lot of purposes, I hope I can pull it off, lol.
I'm grumpy today - a couple FB friends posted today that they are hoping their baby comes now (pre-term) and it's making me mad. Whatever. End of pregnancy isn't comfortable, and baby doesn't always get to show up when it's most convenient for you. Sigh.
Quiet day today - need to do some cleaning and organizing but not going to worry if I don't make it happen either

DD went to daycare today so I'm hoping to get some stuff done while baby sleeps. I really need to get my STD stuff finalized so that's the goal. H also really needs some new clothes and since he's off this week, I'm going to try to convince him to go shopping while we only have 1 kid to deal with.
Busting out of the hospital today! More than ready after 4 nights here, although I have enjoyed my alone time with just DS3, the hospital stay is really the only chance I'll have to be alone with him so I tried to savor it! I'm still super sore and uncomfortable anyway, so I took advantage of having the good pain meds and nurses here at my beck and call!
Good luck to everyone today awaiting and hoping for labor to start!

I spoke to the OB nurse yesterday about my incision glue. She said I can start gently peeling the glue off so I had H take half of it off last night to see how it feels. That side feels a title raw today but that's probably to be expected. I may take the rest off tonight.

nikonine we're about to have the opposite weather here in MA, hitting 92 degrees on Thursday. I'm petrified of how swollen I'm going to get in this heat! 😝
We have an appointment with our lawyer today to sign all our papers and then lunch with a lawyer/friend/mentor at a fancy restaurant. Then yoga tonight!
I did a bunch in the baby's room last night until my back was killing me. I just want to be able to function normally!

I'm "working from home" today but am a little grumpy and don't feel like doing anything. I've had contractions every 20 mins for 2 days, now nothing this morning for the last 2 hours or last night so I'm like... what? Today's timing is when I had DS.
Yay for going home katie0919! It's nice having all that help at the hospital when you're so sore, but it's really nice to be home, especially after that long of a stay.
sleepymonkey, I hope getting some of that glue off will help you feel more comfortable.
rosesquared, hopefully you won't get too swollen, I hate that feeling. It's rainy here, but will be 85 this afternoon and really humid. Unfortunately our summers are generally humid so warm days can be really gross.
Just left my ultrasound, estimated baby weight is between 9 lb 3 oz and 10 lb 🙈 I know those can be wayyyyy off so hopefully it's off in the lower direction haha! Waiting to see the OB now and schedule induction hopefully. 40w4d and over it!
Hope everyone is feeling good/hanging in there. Can't wait for more May babies!!

I've been totally MIA from here for ages, but it's finally (almost) baby time so I thought I'd check in!
I had my c-section scheduled for this upcoming Friday but went in for a final appointment yesterday and my blood pressure is up - out of nowhere since I've been below the normal range before and during this whole pregnancy. So we moved delivery up to tomorrow - not sure two days will make a difference but I'm excited to meet this LO a bit earlier!
U/S yesterday estimates she's about 7.5 lbs - I could've sworn she was at least 50 lbs from how big and heavy I feel
We are finally getting some nice weather around here - sunny and 75° today! I am so ready for it! Although they're saying it'll be almost 90° Thursday and that may be too much...
So I have the forms for STD, pre-filled everything out except for the date and will be leaving them with the office manager to file. I need to get the Attending Physician's Statement filled out - I assume I bring that with me to the hospital and have the doctor there fill it out, or can I have them fill it out ahead of time and just fill in the date the day of? I go to a midwife practice and they don't have doctors there (I don't know if MWs count as "physicians") but I do have a pre-op appointment with the OB that'll be doing the CS tomorrow.

Getting a few odds and ends taken care of today. The dog has already been dropped off at the vet. Today is the boys 4th birthday, and their sister will be here tomorrow. I'm still waiting for the hospital to call me with my presurgical instructions. I figure I'll call my OBs office around 2 if I don't here anything before.

If your STD is anything like mine, the OB performing the section will need to fill out the forms. Mine required my MFM's info to validate things, as I also saw a MW only practice. The guy handling the claim said the head midwife, who's has a doctorate in nurse practice (or something like that), may work but a standard CNMW would not. He also was shocked to learn that there was not an OB at the practice the MWs worked under so take this all with a grain of salt
hpnegirl, yea I'm thinking it would be easiest to have the OB fill it out so I don't have to bother dealing with the insurance company about it. It just seems like it would be such a pain for the doctor to fill out and like when does that even happen? Do I hand it to them when I check into L&D? After the CS as I'm recovering? Such a weird thing to think about.
sleepymonkey my incision glue has stayed on longer than I expected too. Luckily it's not itching! Hope you feel better with yours gone.
Today was my first full day home by myself with both kids - eek! We've had a rough couple days; DD has a cold and was up coughing most of the last two nights and LO was super gassy/miserable yesterday because we tried a different formula over the weekend that clearly didn't sit well. So I'm exhausted and was worried about today a lot but it went pretty smoothly. DD only had one screaming fit before nap over me feeding J instead of playing with her, so not too bad. Now she's been asleep almost two hours and I'm hoping she stays that way a while longer!

In both cases, I called the insurance company to start the claim and they followed up with the doctor. I would think you could theoretically hand it to him tomorrow. Certain companies will let you pre-file for childbirth and follow up with the exact date of delivery once that happens

I'll bring it with me tomorrow and ask. Thankfully, I haven't had to contact the insurance company directly. Our office manager has been helpful in handling it but also she is just going through the company's insurance broker and they are much easier to deal with. I think they just told her to send them the form after I've had the baby and they will take care of the rest.
PirateCat, I was able to pre-file. My company gave me the forms pretty much all filled out, and I added my signatures and some dates. Then I gave it to my doctor and they handle it from there (filing, fixing any dates, etc.). I don't see a MW practice, though, so this all may be moot to you. Hope you can get some answers.
I'm not actually sure how it'll all work out for since we took me out a week before my due date. The insurance company will generally cover that if the doctor signs off on it, but I won't know for a while. Oh well.
I'm staying active to try and help the membrane stripped along. It's 100 degrees out, though, so that limits me. Dancing around the spare room for half an hour was fun.
orangepickle and pinkmickey24 GL tomorrow! Can't wait to hear more birth stories and see more cute babies!
sleepymonkey definitely hope you get relief from the glue soon!
PirateCat that is exactly our weather for the week! We took a short walk outside today and that was nice but not sure that will be feasible the next 2 days. 😝
mcp6286 glad today went pretty well! I'm scared to bring one home let alone the thought of 2 lol.
We finally installed our car seat!!! So exciting lol. I'm trying to motivate DW to go to the grocery store now but she's cranky. 😬

rosesquared, it was...unpleasant. But much better than getting an IUD (which is basically my threshold for OMG pain). The doctor is optimistic that it'll work, but I'm keeping my expectations low since I know it's a coin toss and lots of women have nothing happen. I was still only 2cm dilated, which was frustrating (even though I know it means nothing and my doctor wasn't concerned at all).

icedtea I'm super torn about whether to get it done. I originally wanted to next week but now I'm debating whether to wait and try to let her come on her own for a bit longer. I'm building up things to look forward to if she comes late so hopefully I won't be as miserable.

It won't really do anything if she isn't already ready, which is why I was cool with it.
Though, to be honest, I'm feeling a lot more okay about induction in general (after 40w) than I was before. She's fully formed, she'll be fine when she comes out, and I am done.
mcp6286, it was my first day home with both girls by myself too, and the hardest part was DD1 not understanding that I couldn't give her my full attention, so she had a few melt downs. Hopefully they'll get used to sharing the attention sooner than later, lol.
rosesquared I never did it with my first but that's because I skipped all the cervix checks. Thiis time around I skipped the 36-38 week checks, then had them sweep at 40w and again today. first time I was prepared for pain but it really didn't hurt at all, but it only got me an hour or two of contractions and lost some more of my plug. Today was more uncomfortable, not painful but a lot of pressure. But she was also simultaneously trying to get a good feel of baby's position (apparently sunny side up 👎🏼) so I'm not sure how much was that versus the sweep. So far, nothing more going on than the same intermittent contractions I've been having all week. We'll see how the night goes!
