I feel really silly for asking but I have a legit question. TTMA constipation. Today, J pushed and pushed and got completely red in the face on two occasions and when I checked his diaper there was just a streak. I was expecting a blowout from the amount he pushed. But nada.
So, when do I get worried that he's constipated? He went on Sunday and it was normal looking for a BF baby on solids. If keeps straining tomorrow and nothing comes out again, do I need to be concerned?
Does he seem uncomfortable? I might try giving him some prunes or pears or something else known to help things move along. Sometimes Lilah with push a bunch and just have a little streak. When she does finally go, it's been a little thick, but never hard so not constipated. I might worry if he goes another couple of days or if he seems to be in pain. But go with your gut and it never hurts to call and see what the Dr thinks.
ClassyMrsA Umm that is absolutely ridiculous for an adult man with two kids. I would be pissed and I would make sure he knows it. I hope he changes his mind and spends the day with you instead.

ClassyMrsA, as someone who plays (or I guess played since it's been a few months) Pokemon Go, your H is being very ridiculous and you are not at all overreacting. MH plays as well (or played, it's been a while for him too) and he'd laugh in my face if I suggested using a day off to travel 5 hours round trip just to try and catch one specific Pokemon. He's being silly, tbh.

Thanks for the input ladies. We talked about it a bunch more. I'm not sure I made this very clear, but if he took off Thursday and didn't go, I'd be out anyway with my mom shopping. Another day, yes, I'd expect him to want to spend it with me. Also, he's a teacher and gets 10 days off each year. He can use them or save them for the next year. I think it'd be nice for him to save the 3 days he has left and be able to take off for a vacation with me next year for our 5th anniversary. Whatever.
So he got really defensive and went off about how he has this one close friend who wants to go and he wouldn't go if my mom wasn't spending the day with me. Basically he doesn't see how it's any different than if he took off and went bowling 5 minutes away. Ok. I still think it's a ridiculous thing to do. I said that after talking I got it more, but that if anything happened to him I'd not only be devastated but pissed that it was on this ridiculous excursion I didn't understand. He said he understood that.
I did point out that summer is almost here. Why can't he use the day to do the things he's always complaining about not having time for instead and go do this silly thing over summer. Why waste 5 hours of a personal day when summer is literally less than 3 weeks away? My husband responds to logic, not emotional appeals. I think I may have convinced him to wait. It really depends on if he can now convince his friend. If not, I may have to have a chat with him myself.
Also, my cat appears to be dying. She's lost a ton of weight. Her bloodwork is fine, exam was fine. It seems to be either something they can't find or it's just her time. I'm really sad.
ClassyMrsA eff that. I would be bullshit. HELL no. cheshie6 oh no girl, feel better! waitwhat I think D might be a little constipated too (obvs because if J does something she needs to do it too). I want to give her some prune puree but haven't seen any at the store 😕
ClassyMrsA yes the taking time off thing is what really makes me scratch my head about it. I didn't even think about the fact that he's about to have all that time off!
Also, big hugs for your cat. I'm so sorry; it's never easy to see that happening.
ClassyMrsA, my DH thinks yh is being an effing idiot! DH has car club events, so he feels he can't say much. I will say, DH asks first and he usually gets stuff for his car done cheaper or free. He doesn't attend everything but the bigger meets, club movie nights (i.e. Fate of the furious and other car movies I don't have see), but they do things for charity. Like there's a drive for make a wish on Sunday!
I agree with you that taking time off of work seems silly! I don't know the game but will it be there after school is done? You deserve all the wine!

It's funny. He was genuinely surprised at the reaction to him doing this. Like, he thought I was being unreasonable for being upset about it and assumed you would all talk me down. I wasn't necessarily surprised, but do feel I should say he's usually (not lately though) extremely devoted to our family and tries to do things I might not want to do or can't do when I'm busy or early while we are still asleep (like going running at 5am or seeing a movie when I have plans with my mom). I think he genuinely wasn't seeing why I was upset and for whatever reason hadn't realized that he could easily do this next month and not use a day on 5 hours of driving for a Pokemon. Though, he says it's about male bonding and the adventure if going to a new place. He wouldn't go alone. In any case, I'm hoping they come to their senses and do something else.

Where have all the prune purées gone!? I can't find them anywhere! They were a staple in B's diet at this point, so we never had poo probs.
What gives prune farmers!?
It's weird that y'all can't find any prune puree. We have it at our Target and the HEB. Should I send y'all some?

So I have a bag of actual prunes here. But the ingredients are prunes + sunflower oil and I'm not sure I want her ingesting that just yet.
We have habitual constipation issues in this house (the babies lol)... I can also say that letting them chew on those cold wet cloths has helped, as well as a little watermelon.. Although I feel like the watermelon REALLY took things next level.
Well I fed J pears and he finally pooped. But it wasn't anything monumental. And it wasn't hard or anything. So hopefully we can resume our normal bowel movements going forward.
