Anyone want to share recent purchases? What is your warm weather go to for work? Is your office more relaxed during the summer months dress code wise?
I haven't purchased anything yet, I'm at that weird in between sizes place and it's driving me crazy, but I've been looking at a lot of the dresses at NY and Company. I think they nailed the line this season.
Maybe NY&Co has different stuff up north. I looked there - twice - because of my work travel and in office meetings the next couple months - and half of the dresses were this super thick polyester/plastic blend no lie. And most of them were below the knee which flatters tall thin people, which I am not. It was also like a weird 70s color palette and style mix.
Kohls has some super cute classic blazers.
Express had some super cute shells/tanks for under jackets/cardigans.
I bought something similar to this that worked with my lift. It looks okay with my dress pants but I feel like a dork in skirts or dresses. I'm still hunting for a shoe that would look nice with my skirts/dresses but work with my lift but have had no luck so far.
I tend to wear most of my winter stuff but skip the leggings and bulky sweaters and replace them with light cardigans and pantyhose or light weight tights. I freeze year round except for August when I feel like I can finally go bare legged for a couple weeks.
2chatter do have links to the blazers? My suits and blazers are feeling very dated.
I recently bought a black bow shoulder dress from j crew factory. I think this would be so cute with the right blazer, but for now I just layer it over a thin blouse.
k3am we can switch offices, mine becomes so unbearably hot at 3 in the afternoon. I share a thermostat with another group who likes to keep it at 80+ to match the temps outside. There is only so much I can take off and still be decent!
I'm a big fan of summer beachy dresses with a solid cardigan on top and professional shoes. The cardigan is essential for AC indoors but also makes you look work-appropriate despite wearing a cute little dress.
I'm still obsessed with that Land's End dress everyone here recommended. I can wear it with heels to dress it up, or flat sandals and a jean jacket for casual days. I have a super casual office but like to try to dress a step up from that most days.
Any good maxi dresses out there? The target ones are too clingy in bad places with thin cloth.

Yay! I'm so glad you posted this! Now that I'm officially done having babies, I've been working on clearing out my closet and starting a capsule wardrobe. I obviously need suggestions for new summer work wear.
I purchased two dresses from Macy's recently. They're both neutral in their own right, and I can wear them all year around.
I also replaced my black and white cardigans with the Merona Women's Favorite Cardigan from Target. I like the length - a little lower than the hip - and the sleeves are a 3/4 length. Plus, they're a nice weight for the wintery office.

xctsclrx - IMO a bright color top says summer. I like wearing a really concentrated color top with fun jewelry if I'm trying to dress up black pants. I work in a pretty formal office, so I wear black pants 2-3x/week. My favorite right now is this cobalt blue top with black pants and heels, then I wear yellow-and-blue drop earrings.

You guys are making me wish I could shop for regular clothes! Such cute items. I'm on the lookout for summer maternity clothes. I pulled out my bin from three years ago and most of it won't work because the office I used to work at was much more relaxed and I don't have any maternity crop/skinny work pants. Any store recommendations for maternity clothes?
xctsclrx - I go with length for summer instead of colors...stick to my black/grey/blues palette but do cropped pants, 3/4 sleeve cardigans and tanks underneath, some short sleeve fancier TS.
I just stop wearing a couple of wool pieces - light vneck sweaters and a wool skirt, and instead make sure I have layers I can take off when I leave the building and its 50 degrees warmer outside.

I bought some NY&Co capris. Black for when I'm feeling formal, coral for when I'm feeling fun. And I got some boyfriend jean ankle pant thingies because our new dress code allows for jeans.
Also from NY7CO, I got a few of their colorful sleeveless shells to wear under cardis.

Do you by any chance have a link? I missed this one.

Last summer when I was KU I ordered eleventy things from zulily. They have really good deals and some very cute stuff. I went with lots of dresses because I was hot AF all the time and they were more comfortable and airy than maternity pants.
I'm excited to wear dresses again! I packed them away for pregnancy and breastfeeding, but I'm about done with breastfeeding soon. I love my Lands End Ponte dresses and I would like to look again at Old Navy pants for this summer. I have some Pixie cut dress pants from there that I love and that are super comfortable.
I keep going to order the Kelly green Lands End dress. But I own the navy in an 8P and its way big now. It was big before I lost weight. I could have ordered a 6P. Their size chart has me in a 6P. But I have dropped 20 pounds so that doesn't seem right? This is where Lands End loses me. I need to be able to go to a store.
