Work and more work. My MIL arrives tonight. Had no interest in joining us on vacation, but has no problem coming for a visit 3days after we get home. Sigh. At least FIL stayed home.

I'm getting things cleaned up at home and packing for our quick weekend getaway. I hope the weather cooperates down there tomorrow so we can get some exploring in.
This thread was not our best showing lol. You all are too busy having babies, vacationing, or way more fun things than me. I've been watching the train wreck in between work.

I've been checking in on the train wreck here and there as well as feeling things out around the forum. Not completely following, but watching things shake out all around. I think a lot of people are going to be staying here in the long run.
I'm prob getting ahead of myself big time though. It's pretty smooth sailing with sleepy babies with tiny bellies, but the real stuff goes down when milk comes in and boobs kills. I think that's when hormones are killer too. I'm guessing I've got 24 hours left lol

I remember the day after giving birth the uterus contractions were so painful. I actually requested pain pills a couple times to take the edge off.
Is it abnormal I'm taking pain pills regularly then? It's not SUPER painful but I just want to stay ahead of it. I'm taking a high dose of Motrin and then Vicodin as needed

I've only had c sections, but I don't think that sounds abnormal. Especially for the first 24-48 hours.

At least with a CS, it's better to be proactive and keep the dose steady rather than trying to overcome the pain once it gets bad.
One of my nurses had a come to Jesus talk with me about that. She told me it was stupid not to for the first week or so.

I don't think so. I seem to remember it getting worse before it got better and I didn't BF and I think that can actually make the contractions more painful. Plus anything that went on in delivery and the epidural. I had some back pain after mine.
All that to say - don't be a hero. As long as you're not super loopy and out of it, manage the pain before it gets you down.

I think everyone is different post vaginal birth, so do what you need to feel fine. My contractions never bothered me, but my episiotomy stiches bothered me some. I only remember taking some Motrin occasionally and being ok.

I don't remember contractions post delivery at all. No pain from delivery and I kept turning down the pain meds. But I was dying of gallstone pain, so maybe I just didn't notice?

The nurses told me it's much more noticeable for your second + births.
