It seems like it'll be warm and sunny this weekend so I can get some furniture painting done. But of course DH is working all weekend so that's gonna slow down progress.
DS1 has soccer on Saturday and we're gonna try to grill on Sunday.
Need to get a new kiddie pool and some outdoor toys.
Ugh, I feel you on the heat. Luckily i've been able to stay in the AC most of the time. I can't imagine my office not having the air on - how are you surviving?! Lol.
I have to work tomorrow morning for a few hours, then I really want to go get a pedicure. Not sure if I'll grocery shop tomorrow or Sunday yet. Other than that I'll probably just hang out with DS while H finishes working on the master bathroom.

You just reminded me - I looked down at my toes and added pedicure to my weekend list.
Today is sleep for a bit then once I wake up, get a mani/pedi and then DH's school program is hosting a graduation dinner at a steakhouse so #nomnomnom ! So excited for a good steak, even if I have to order it medium/med-well instead of med-rare. 🍽
Pretty bummed that it's been SO warm here the past week and of course this weekend the temps drop AGAIN. just my luck- weekends I work it's super nice out, weekends I'm off- it's cold and dreary. Yesterday was 80 and right now it's 43. Yuckkkkk.
Ikea is the bane of my existence right now! The bureau has said it's coming in stock everyday but then you check that day and no stock available. Now they are saying June?? Rage!!
I also have struggled with heat for 2 days, my legs and feet are so achy but not swollen. I'm actually happy for the 60's again this weekend lol
addymac, this weather is ridiculous but it is supposed to be significantly warmer tomorrow so there is that!
AFM, I had so many plans to get organized with the nursery this weekend and they all went to shit. We recently had to move my grandpa to an assisted living facility and are in the process of selling his house. For some reason, 100% of the responsibility for getting his house in order has fallen on my shoulders and between that and starting back to school I'm overwhelmed and all baby related stuff has been put on the back burner for at least a week or two. :-(
Hey! I had an ultrasound today just for doppler readings. Both A&B had normal readings. Yay!
The tech was super talkative and said that she thinks the one elevated reading we had on B's umbilical doppler on Tuesday was tech error. Apparently it is really easy to get a false elevated reading on umbilical dopplers and since 3 out of 4 were normal she thinks that 4th was not legit. I really hope she is right.

So, hospital food pretty much sucks. Having a limited menu to choose from when you are going to be here for a long time (hopefully) really sucks because you are pretty much eating the same thing every three days.
Today, I ordered my lunch at 12:30. Over two hours later, I still did not have it. My nurse was very upset. I ended up getting lunch at 3:30. At 3:45 the head of patient services for the dining department came in to find out what happened and to make sure I was a happy camper.
I took my opportunity to let him know that I thought the limited one page menu (which is divided into all three meals) was not good for people here longterm. He agreed and said he thought they had a different expanded menu for long term patients.
He came back in about two hours later. I'm being set up to talk with a dietician and should get approval to order direct from the cafeteria. The cafeteria! They have real food! All because someone misplaced my order.

Glad to hear the US went well! I really hope that was an error as well, seems like it.
At my last cervical check the ultrasound tech screwed up my measurements - according to her, my cervix had shortened by half over the course of a week and a half? I could tell she was having a hard time so the MFM came in and did it herself and realized she was way off, thankfully.

That's awful that you had to wait that long for your food!!! You're eating for 3! But a happy accident that you have more options now!

OMG. That is just panic inducing. I'm glad the MFM redid the measurement and it was okay.

Can YH bring you outside food when he visits?
He can. He's off on Sunday and is already planning on bringing in bbq. The hospital is located pretty close to a lot of places with really good food.

cali sorry to hear about your grandpa and the pressure being put on you. I hope you can get some help with it all.
This weekend was supposed to be fun filled, but things quickly changed in the last two days. Tonight, we were supposed to go watch my best friend play in her orchestra but she had to have emergency surgery Wednesday night because of an ectopic pregnancy. I feel terrible for her but she's surprisingly handling it really well. She's such a strong person but I think her emotions will hit her soon.
Tomorrow evening, we were supposed to go to dinner with another couple but we canceled because we were planning on going to Houston to visit my uncle. He has aggressive advanced prostate cancer and they just doing out it has spread to his lungs, liver, and bones. Some of my family is going to visit him and we were going to tag along, but I just don't think I can handle it. I've been so exhausted lately and traveling there and back in one day would really be pushing it. So, now we are staying in town, but our friends already made plans with other people. Oh well. I don't mind having a chill night at home.
Sunday, I'm debating about going to tour the hospital I'll be delivering at. We don't have to schedule it, so I'll just see if we feel up to it.

Oh, and I've made some good progress on the nurser tonight. Now that tomorrow is totally open, I'm hoping to keep it going. Maybe I'll be able to post pics soon of what all has been completed!
Random question - has anyone seen or is anyone watching Ray Donavon? I think it may be my new favorite show. H and I are on the first season still, but we're both really liking it!
therealbug I must have missed it...why are you in the hospital?
***snip***@cali
I think I missed updating on this board, it's been a weird week.
One of the twins has IUGR. On Tuesday we had a growth scan and doppler check on blood flow which picked up one elevated reading on her umbilical cord blood flow. Since we were 25+5, the MFM decided that she wanted to start steroid shots as well as a round of magnesium just in case they needed to deliver in the next few days.
Essentially, they can better monitor Baby B for any signs of distress and do an emergency c-section if necessary. I'm probably in the hospital until delivery but the MFM did say that if I make it past a certain point (30 weeks?) with no abnormal readings and everyone looking good then I could possibly be allowed to go back home. OB thinks I'll be in until delivery and that it will be before 30 weeks.

muscari I'm so sorry! Did they give you a reason as to why?
I've been up since just before 5 and it's totally my fault. I woke up to use the bathroom and went to go check on DD. She was covered up all weird in her blanket so I tried to fix it but ended up waking her up. She hasn't gone back to sleep because she thinks it's wake up time. We're snuggled on the couch now so hopefully she'll pass out in a bit, but I don't have high hopes.
**hugs** therealbug I am happy you're in good hands but sad you had to be admitted already after all! How is hospital bedrest treating you?
jessa1228 TBH, not quite sure?! Still reeling heh and trying to make sense of what happened over the past week. On the 11th I was told out of the blue that my supervisor wanted a meeting with me, the head of the department and someone from HR cause they were worried about how I was doing - I've not been functioning 100% due to the pregnancy and pregnancy-related heart issues for which I've had to go on partial sickleave in April. They made it sound like we were simply going to discuss how to go forward, and make plans for after my maternity leave. I for sure hadn't seen this coming yesterday! Apperently she's known all along that they planned on terminating my contract even though they pretended this was not the case (I asked literally and was given a Nah don't worry response last week).
Basically, it seems my tutor made up shit and conferred with our supervisor who then talked with the head of the department. The decision has been made solely based on word from these two (definitely colored by the fact my tutor has had it in for me since the day I stepped onto the department) without giving me any oppertunity to respond to allegations made or what not even though they were supposed to and said they would.. I've simply been lied to by my supervisor and tutor, and other coworkers speak shame of how they've treated me and handled things. I'd laugh at the ridiculousness of it all if it wasn't my reality right now.
I should be protected by law since I'm pregnant up until 6 weeks past maternity leave. By then I'd be there for 12+ months, in which case legally they seem to have a 3 mo notice period apperently, too. So going by this technically I should have a job up until mid-March. However, the way things were played and the current situation, I'm not sure there is enough common ground left for me to be able to continue working there! Which is a true shame, cause I love what I do and I get along well with most all of my collegues.. I really hadn't seen this coming (naive of me perhaps??). I knew this girl had it in for me, but hadn't expected her to go to this lenght to get me kicked out.
Even if they indeed can't fire me legally, I just don't know whether I could continue to work there with as little confidence and trust I have left in them after all this. I guess the best we can hope for is for the union to work out a good settlement with them. Though ideally I would have actually WORKED for that money. Am contacting my union rep after thre weekend to get the ball rolling. I'm not going to let them get away with this so easily.. Sorry this got so lenghty!
happyfeet9 Ahh well no not really, but I will be.. And hey, I do get to enjoy an extended maternity leave?? I've been excused from working as per Monday so will have all the time of the world now to work on our nursery, cook this baby, etcetcetc ;-) And hopefully there'll be a proper severance package which enables me to be a SAHM for a bit after baby is born!? Though ideally of course I hope to secure a new job as soon as I can.
