New pinned post that TCF isn't going anywhere, but honestly after all the drama I don't feel good about staying here anymore. But will follow where the group wants to go. I'm not a very active poster or thread starter.
I'm also good with whatever. If possible I'd like to keep the smaller boards together so people only have 1-2 sites to keep up with instead of a bunch of fractured ones.
I'm leaning strongly towards GBCN but understand that others are hesitant, or there is otherwise a great deal of inertia. Personally I don't feel a strong attachment to Parenting or Politics, and after hearing how things went down with SM, my preference is to not set up shop in a forum that is run by people who had a role in that. But I will follow people that I want to stay in touch with. Fortunately, Tapatalk makes it pretty easy to move between forums, once you have your favorites set up.
This makes me maybe 0.01% less confused, and I am out of time to be able to look into it, so someone just tell me where to find you all. Please and thank you!!!
In a nutshell: blowup amongst those who had been running this place. People got upset about expectations not being met, responded by swarming another website's forum and behaved in a way that got that forum shut down. Now the big board(s) are migrating to another place.
A few of us who were following this over the weekend feel like it might make more sense to move over to the Special Needs board over at GBCN, where we already have some overlap. The search for a new home was basically prompted by fears that TCF might go poof in the aftermath of all the drama. It appears that it's not; however, the credibility of the admin team (if it can be called a team) has been shot. If you haven't been to GBCN, it's basically a forum that started up after a bunch of people left The Nest, maybe in 2012. That board is here: pandce.proboards.com/board/65/special
But mostly, it seems like there is a lot of inertia that is keeping us here.
Yes, I was a part of GBCN at one point, so I'll try to keep track of everywhere until we find our bearings. If so many people leave here, it may die on its own regardless of what the leaders promise/want. As long as we all find each other in the end, that's what counts.
