So, I really don't know what is happening and if you all are staying or going, so I decided to post the check in this week and feel things out. I didn't want to leave those of you who are staying hanging. I don't know if I'm sticking around and either way this is my last full week in second tri, so if we want to keep the check in going we need a new leader. Anyone want to take over??
This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. Feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd tri after 27 weeks.
If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below (and tag me) and include: -EDD and team if you know/team green if you aren't finding out? -How far along you are? -Upcoming appointments? -Anything you’d like to share.
Ahh i totally missed this check in! It's been a few hectic days here and I am off to bed first but will check in in the am! Thanks for posting the checkin cali!
I don't think anyone is here anymore since no one has checked in. So this will be the last second tri check in that I'll post on PAIF. If someone coming over from first tri wants to start it back up, go for it, but it looks like most people have moved on to either FB or are waiting for the new board that's in progress. :-( I hope we all reconnect somewhere!
cali thanks for the checkin. I don't know what I'm doing, but the FB group is probably not for me so I will just lurk and offer support where needed. I know I'd been pretty quiet but I'm here if anyone needs anything.
Wishing everyone the best and boring 2nd / 3rd tri.

Oh hi! I just saw this. I guess I didn't see it before since I wasn't tagged in it.. I still want to participate if others are. I still have some time in second tri. but can someone let me know if you guys decide to move somewhere else?
laurensc927 whoo, you're moving into 2nd tri!!! How are you feeling, lady?
** guess I should stick a warning here just in case **
Guess I should post an update... had our anatomy scan and baby is looking good (uncooperative for the scan, but that's hardly unusual). Unfortunately, a little bit of an issue with my cord - I have an unusual cord condition called a velamentous cord insertion. Basically, instead of inserting cleanly, the cord doesn't fully insert and a bunch of exposed blood vessels are what helps the cord attach to the placenta. Ooops. It can be associated with some other problematic conditions (vasa previa, another rare condition) later in pregnancy and growth restriction.
So, I'm trying not to freak out, since there's nothing I can do and the odds of this other condition happening are still low. But it brings up all the old feels, why my body can't do this correctly, etc. I'll have another ultrasound at 28 weeks and we'll know more about where the cord is and how it looks. If at all problematic, I go on home bed rest, followed by hospital bed rest to try to get full-term.

shytimes, is that something that can resolve on it's own? Either way, I hope everything looks perfect at your next scan.
My a/s is tomorrow. I'll be 19 weeks 2 days. I think I may have felt movement the past 2 days. Could have been gas but I'm not 100% sure. I had anterior placenta at my NT scan.
goofynewfy Thanks! I don't think so.... it becomes less of a problem if the cord insertion point moves away from my cervix as the baby grows. Can you tell Dr. Google The crazy person in me is more worried about nutrition / oxygen through the cord, which doesn't seem to be as much of a risk.
Let us know how the A/S goes.... hopefully you get some cute thumbsucking pictures. And that could definitely be movement.... feels like bubbles popping at first for me.
This is my last second tri check-in! I'm 27 weeks today. I feel like all my symptoms have hit at once. I'm having foot cramps, hemorrhoids, and extreme exhaustion.
In better news, my work shower is tomorrow! I'm pretty excited. I got our baby bathtub today from someone who can't come tomorrow so that's one item off the list. Only 99 more to go :-)
Hi! I'm not really sure where I'll be checking in, I'm having a hard time keeping up with things with all the chaos!
But...I'm 25+5 today. OB appt tomorrow, next u/s isn't until June 19. I had to move it back a week bc of a work conflict. Makes me so nervous. But at least the next few weeks are really busy so hopefully that will help make time fly!
The babes are moving a ton, especially one of them. A few times a day, I can just watch my belly jump and wiggle, ha. The one that is lower doesn't have quite the same force, probably a good thing given the placement.
I'm getting bad foot swelling the past few days, I hope it's not indicative of anything more than normal pregnancy swelling, we'll see what the doc says tomorrow.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
cali, that's alright! this place has been crazy and I don't necessarily want to move but I don't want to be all alone here. hah. I'll keep you guys in the loop if I move over with the 3TIFers.
wannabmama, good luck at your appointment tomorrow! I hope the swelling is normal.
Anatomy scan was yesterday and baby was a wiggle worm!! She measured a day ahead and I think we got all the images we needed. Everything looked good so I am relieved. We were there for almost 2 hours. DH ended up announcing on FB with one of the u/s photos. He was excited
Hey guys, I have missed the last few check-ins! We went on a trip to AZ and then we closed on our home and moved-in last week. Its been so much work and really busy! But we got internet hooked up yesterday so I thought I would rest during DS's nap time and catch up on TCF! Aaaaand what have I missed on TCF?! New board? Ppl leaving? Guess I need to go do some investigating.
shytimes, my Baby A also has velamentous cord insertion, discovered around 13wks. In addition the cord inserted to the edge of the placenta instead of the center. Right now they are monitoring it every three weeks but they said once I hit 3rd tri will be when they have to really make sure baby is growing and getting all its nutriton. They also have warned of bed rest if it becomes a problem. I'm sorry you're dealing with this, too! Its nerve wracking but, like you said, I have to keep telling myself its nothing I did and there is nothing I can do to fix it. Hoping time goes quickly till your next U/S!
AFM, I'm 26wks with twins, team green. I had an MFM appt today. Babies looked great and the bleeding in the membrane is holding stable. Three weeks ago they found what looks to be an extra collecting system in Baby A's left kidney. It is getting harder to see as the baby grows so they will need to do an MRI after birth. Usually this is nothing concerning but needs to be checked out to ensure the kidney is functioning properly. Between this and the cord issue Baby A is already proving to be a trouble maker!
Like I said I have missed a few weeks on TCF so I'm off to try and catch up with everyone.
