Our carrots, peas and cucumbers have sprouted. No sign of the watermelons yet. We have rodents living in our bed, I found a couple tunnels Right in the middle of the peas, probably chipmunck. How do I keep the animals from eating our vegetables?

Anyone have any advice on growing cilantro? I use a lot in the summer, love whipping up quick fruit salsas for fish and chicken dishes or fresh guac etc. Anyway I always do an herb garden for summer cooking and I never have any success with the cilantro. I've already killed two plants this year. The second completely shriveled up and died literally within hours of me bringing it home.

So funny. I just planted my cilantro about 5 mins ago. I don't do anything special but dig a hole and put the herb in and cover well.
Maybe you need a bigger pot? Do you do containers or does your place have a garden area?

I use a pot. The second one didn't even last long enough for me to transfer it though. It died in the small one I had purchased for it. Idk about it being the pot size though because the first one died within days of me transfering it, my basil and parsley in similar pots are doing fine, all had room to grow

I planted (in pots) mint, basil, rosemary and lavender. I have done nothing - they are doing really well. No joke about mint multiplying! So glad I read that and didn't plant in the ground.
