jubilantsquirrel Do you guys have drills for a volcano eruption over there like they have for fires and tornadoes?
No. I believe the towns closer to the mountain have sirens and evacuation routes, but most cities have nothing in place.
We did have earthquake drills in school though. It was duck and cover. You get underneath a sturdy table or desk and then kind of curl up and cover your head and neck with your arms. If you're not near anything you can duck under than the next safe place is a door way.

For some reason I know this. Like we need to know earthquake drills in Michigan.

I used to think that having a "season" of natural disasters (i.e. tornado and hurricane season) was worse than the occasional earthquake. But now I think it's probably better to at least know when it's a possibility vs being completely blind sided while sitting in health class.

Hurricanes are my preferred natural disaster because you know when they are coming. Tornadoes are still so spontaneous you can't necessarily get out of their path.

So when I was younger, I remember hearing about hurricane Andrew and I didn't know about the naming convention because I was a kid. I thought that these hurricanes were always out there, floating around in the ocean and just once in a while made their way to land. I was terrified about going to Myrtle Beach for the first time.

I mean as preferred as a natural disasters go.
Lol at preferred natural disaster.
But yes, the movie Twister taught me that tornados are very unpredictable.

Anyone else just *know* when a fight is coming with your spouse? I'm not sure what found itself lodged in H's butt, but I hope it finds its way out before he gets home. I'm in no mood to deal. It's like male PMS or some shit.

Ugh I'm sorry. Can you just give him some chocolate and wine to make it stop?

Ugh, yes. I hate that. I swear male PMS is a thing! It's so annoying.

We used to have bomb drills in elementary school and that's what we did.
Coincidentally, that's also what we would do for tornado drills, unless you had a room with a window. Then you'd go in the hallway.
haha i was wondering if anyone had one they would recommend before I go and drop like $50+ on something I have no idea is good or not. It got lost in the mason dixon conversation I think.
It doesn't work on my A cups at all. 😭 maybe for half a second until body heat makes the adhesive start to become less sticky. I've never found anything that has worked.
But I have seen the duct tape trick now that goldenlove3 mentioned it. That might be worth Pinteresting?
waitwhat I have one from VS I bought years ago that has straps that cross around my ribs. It works very very well, but keep in mind I am, uh, very much not endowed. Like, not at all.

duct tape sounds like it would hurt. I'll look into it. It's for a wedding so I'll be drinking and dancing and most likely drunk. Can't afford any nip slips. It's a family wedding.
How tight is your dress ? It might be cheaper and more worth it to have someone sew cups into the dress.

I was nursing Henry before bed. He fell asleep so I put him up to my shoulder to burp him (this happens about 50% of the time so nothing weird there). After a few seconds he lifted his head and puked (with incredible force) all over me, all over himself, and all over the bed. DH said maybe he was over-full, but he really didn't eat any more than normal. And C used to comfort nurse and then spit-up what he didn't need (and it was sometimes a lot), but this was not like that. The only new food he had is blueberries. He had a small taste yesterday (actual fresh blueberries) and today had one of those pouches similar to applesauce but it was blueberry (no added sugar or anything like that). I've never heard of blueberries causing a reaction, so it could very well be a coincidence. But I'm nervous.
Generally projectile vomiting as a reaction is much closer to the event. I would call your pedi and check in about it tomorrow but my suspicion is it's not related

danib Lilah did that once a while back. Before we started solids. It was a complete one off for us. I'd maybe watch him, see if it happens again. It's hard to tell if it was blueberries or something random since it doesn't sound like a classic reaction if that's what it was.

O had a low grade fever before bed. I put him to bed without medicine bc the fever was low and that's the body's natural defense. But now I'm worried about it getting too high while he (and I) are sleeping. He would wake up if it did, right? Should I wake him up to check? I felt his forehead and it still seemed warm.
S'more slightly toasted not burnt! Lover of history! And lover of math! I always made it through on the Oregon trail, I usually didn't have a family left! I guess I'm cold-hearted. waitwhat, my only recs are for f,g,h cups on bras, sorry! +1 to bare necessities though! Love the dress. danib, L did that once (on couch) very bad air bubble in tummy! He was fine right after!
Besides the Mason-Dixon (that's where we get the south = "Dixie" from), there was also the Missouri Compromise, and that created a line (the Missouri Compromise Line or 36th Parallel). Maybe that is what y'all are thinking of? #historybuff #marriedtoahistorymajor #iwatchthehistorychannelforfun
Fellow southerner here, even if I am from FL. My family has been in south GA and north FL since before the Civil War. Tell your H to come down to this area and over into the panhandle, and he will see how southern FL can be B noticed the propane tank display at a gas station the other day and exclaimed, "That's what daddy uses to boil peanuts!" We are raising him right. ETA starbuck27
