The support from you ladies means more to me than you will ever know. It's so much better than the "Don't have a 3rd if you can't handle 2" that I got from my brother. It's been a rough year.
H is back getting his vasectomy. I'm nervous for him! Those are delicate parts they mess with. I am really glad he is doing I though, I'm hoping to not have to do birth control anymore.

I'm still waiting for Dh to even pursue the convo with his doctor.
In the meantime, other than some weight gain, I'm liking my Mirena.

I got half way to my parents house and realized I forgot my sneakers at home. Now I need to run out and buy some before my seat check event tonight. Damnit!
Susan0utLoud I liked the Mirena too. I wouldn't have been angry to have it againor anything but I find comfort in knowing we are done with having kids and not worrying each month about unplanned pregnancy. I never worried too much before Chloe because we both knew we'd like one and one kid didn't seem too much to handle. But after DD when I was told it was dangerous for both me and a baby if I were to conceive, I did nothing but stress until I got my next period. I had Mirena and used condoms but I was always worried. Then I have DS and the idea of a third would financially ruin us. We are already going to pay as much in daycare as our mortgage. I couldn't imagine what a third would do. And then I think of the activities, the future cars, college, weddings and I know H and I can't afford More than we have. Shoot, I don't even know if we can afford the two we have! Lol

scotty138 I wish I had good advice to give. It's so hard to not be able to fix things for our kiddos. You are doing a great job supporting what your son needs
I'm sorry scotty138 . I hope you guys get some answers very soon. And your brother is a jerk to say that to you.
He is a jerk. It was part of a whole "don't shoot the messenger, but nobody likes you" rant he went on.
Well that just makes me want to punch him for you. Except I'm supposed to be a pacifist and really suck at punching. I feel like if he were female, glitter bombs would've already been suggested. But maybe he had a nice spouse/s.o. who doesn't deserve to have that "gift". ?
springbeduk He is still breastfed 2-4 times a day because the Drs want him to get the probiotics through breast milk. I am going to put him on a probiotic this week while he is off antibiotics in hopes of letting his stomach recover a bit.
I have thought about doing an elimination diet. I don't really know where to start. I guess dairy would be a good starting point, but we have celiacs in our family as well so I'm concerned about gluten. Do I need to worry about soy? Idk, I'm barely making it through the days right now so a special diet without knowing if it is helping sounds exhausting.
I wanted his stomach scoped while he is under for his test next week, but they didn't think it was necessary. If it is damaged from the antibiotics I would like to know so we can deal with it ASAP.
Is it possible to get a second opinion and/or keep pushing about having them scope his stomach? That sounds like a really good idea to be proactive and check on. Though I suppose it would have to be done by a gastroenterologist not the kidney doc and they probably don't usually work together. Pesky systemic/institutional barriers. But seems like something worth asking about!
Unfortunately if you start an elimination diet now at the same time as going off antibiotics you won't know which factor is responsible if he gets better. On the other hand, you really really want him to feel better (and be in good shape for surgery) so in that way it makes sense to try everything. You can then test by reintroducing later. Summer is at least a good time for eliminating stuff especially if you're mainly suspecting gluten and dairy because you can grill (meat) and there will be lots of good veggies. But it's still hard. Will your boy eat meat? Hummus? Rice? Avocadoes/guacamole?
springbeduk He will only be off of the antibiotics for a week so we can see if there is improvement. He will need them for approximately 6 more months. He usually eats just about everything we offer but he has been refusing to eat lately, so it's hard to say. I think we will start an elimination diet after next week.

If anyone has the newer version of the Britax Be safe infant seat, go to their website and look at the recalls. They have a new recall on the chest clip for that carseat.
