DH is pissing me off. He wants to buy a car from an out of state dealership, and he doesn't want to wait for it to be transported here, so he wants me to take a 12 hour (each way) road trip with him this weekend. With our 3 year old too. I told him he's crazy. And now he's mad that I'm crushing his dreams. Argh!
OH DARN doc says no traveling this late in the game. No can do! Sorry not sorry Even then, 24 hours of driving just for a new car? No thanks. Eek.
Coming home empty handed is so dang weird My weekend will be full of nicu visits and mindless chick flicks to keep me away from dr Google... trying to keep my anxiety in check. Came home today to a clean house and flowers. They annoy me a lot but my mil and sil are good people ❤️

And after night 1 home from the hospital I just caved and ordered the dockatot. Tell me I'm crazy to spend the $$. I figured if I don't need it, I can pass it along to my cousin who is expecting
starsandshamrocks123 I had never heard of that, so I googled it. Looks like it gets great reviews. Will you use it for co-sleeping?
Neither of my kids would sleep on a totally flat crib-like surface until several months old - we used the pack n play newborn napper attachment with the older two and plan to use a rock n play with this baby - so the concept of something cozy for baby to sleep in makes sense to me.
starsandshamrocks123 that's a lot of crap to deal with. I would be pissy and mega irritated too. Hormones don't help, but having tons of different staff who aren't on the same page isn't acceptable. pinecone21 he IS crazy. Period. bagels that has to be so hard. Glad your house was at least clean.

I thought last night I was going to have a baby. Had waves every six minutes for hours, but they never became stronger or even painful. Just fizzled out when I laid down. I'm so torn between wanting baby to wait three weeks and pray we have the addition at least poured and roofed, versus coming now so I can have an outside baby and my body back. I've been working outside a lot, digging up cactus. We have 37 acres and its covered with yucca, prickly pear, a small round cactus, and some other prairie brush. I'm so afraid one of the boys is going to fall on a prickly pear and we'll have to go to the ER. Their roots aren't deep, but it's a lot of tugging with a hoe to pull them out, then bending over to (gently and so carefully) pick them up and put them in the box. Once they all dry out we can burn them. I've been working hours a day for a week and have maybe gotten a half square mile. I really wanted to go to the target 90 minutes away, but h is convinced if I do I'll go into labor.

sdlaura it's one of those trendy must haves that I typically shy away from. I went to a baby shower last week and it was all the newer moms were talking about.
We have the rock n play but I know it's not great for sleeping since it's not flat. It's tough for me to get to her in it. I'm not sure if the dockatot is great either but it might be easier for night feedings

maggie6424 I've had several long nights like that in the past three weeks. And yet here I am, day before my due date, still pregnant. I guess it's just my uterus doing a few trial runs to work out the kinks before the big show
sdlaura we used the pnp newborn napped attachment too in the beginning. In fact, DS slept in the pnp for the first 9 months of his life. My friend gave us their bassinest though, so we'll be trying that out first with this baby. Hopefully that will work out well, because we currently use the pnp for DS at least once a week and I don't want to constantly be breaking down and setting it up anymore than I need to.
maggie6424 I did some yard work last weekend, and it just about killed my back. I can't believe you've been doing it for a week straight! If I were you, I'd round up some neighborhood kids and tell them I'd pay them $1 for every prickly pear they dig up. (Or some dollar amount that made sense for the work)

If there were neighbors, I'd be all over it. But most of ours are either summer only or just adults. teachermomtobe no energy. I'm driven by fear! Plus my love of crocs.

I did the same thing with the Owlet monitor, doesn't matter how much it costs, I feel like I need it

We ordered the owlet as well. I know everyone says it is a waste and whatnot but after the anxiety I had for the last 9 months from just pregnancy, I am more than willing to spend the money for the potential benefit!
Sooo... I had a baby last night! Regular contractions started at 8:30 and I had a baby by 1:30. I'll update the appropriate threads and write a birth story soon, but it's still too early here to call anyone and I needed to tell someone!
