My boys have the Medicaid waiver here in NY and we hope to use their self-directed budgets through the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities to support the boys in living as independently as possible. This can include a housing subsidy, support staff, access to community classes and memberships (like to museums and gyms), etc. I guess that all hinges on how well Medicaid survives the current admin..

I do picture each in their own apartment with as needed staffing and work supports...

The post struck me as a self promotion or advertisement, especially because it's the writer's first post. I was on Tapatalk, so I did not click on the link. I tend to be overly-suspicious, so I apologize if others didn't share the same suspicions. SaveSave
