::yawn:: poor baby isn't feeling good. Which means I'm staying home. At least for the first half of the day, then H is tagging in so I can go to work for the second half of the day.

I don't know what's wrong with my baby. He was up 3 times. His sleep is so bizarre. He coughed a little at night and has snot but he doesn't seem like he has an EI so idk...

I see I missed a busy day yesterday...I'm covering for some people that are out again today so I'm not sure how much I'll be around.
mominthemaking14 I need some negotiating advice *oh wise one*. I've been collecting estimates for new gutters. One company requires a 50% deposit when I book and the remainder when the job is completed. In your experience, do you think I could negotiate 10-20% off by paying in full at booking? If it matters, the estimate already included a 30% off "special", but I'm guessing they always have that deal because the sale price was closer to what other companies have quoted. obviously, it never hurts to ask, but I don't want to look like a crazy person either.

Sounds like you need this day to fuck off as much as I do...sorry about the sinus stuff. This allergy season is really killing me.
Andplusalso, wtf DC raising the tuition?!?! mominthemaking14 just in time for you to have 2 there at an even higher rate. Looking for a nanny is starting to sound better every day.

Can't hurt to ask. If you do pay in advance do it on a credit card so you can dispute if something happens. I'd personally try to negiotate X off the overall price vs paid in full. Like see if you can get money off overall, just say you've gotten a good quote from some one else... see if they call your bluff

I would be down for that, even if it was just for the babies. I'm just really annoyed with that right now. They raised the infant tuition $10/week, it might not seem like a lot but it adds up. But then I think about wanting C to be in DC when she's older, so I don't really want to "burn that bridge" with DC right now. I guess I need to wait it out, it will be cheaper at some point, it's a finite expense.

Um yea I about lost it. I don't want to move A but $310/week is nuts.

I'm so annoyed that I got to the little clinic at 8:15, opened at 8:30. Second in line. First patient was not even taken back until 9. Then I went back. Now waiting 15 minutes to fill rx.

What rx did you get this time? Didn't you just get antibiotics recently?

Holy shit. I knew DC costs were more expensive in Ohio and your DC is top notch, but OMG. Like that is less than $100 away from what I will pay for M+newborn/week. You could split a nannyshare @ $15/hr *50hrs/wk (39k/yr) and still save money. I have no idea if that's reasonable salary for a nanny share or not, but I would probably do it for that much since I wouldn't have to pay for daycare lol.

I was on augmentin 2 weeks ago and I felt better towards the end of the med but immediately got sick again after the med was done. She gave me amox and a steroid. I'm so afraid of killing my supply but I have slept with my mouth open all week and I am just done with this. I'm eating the Lactation cookies. Come on boobies. Make da milk.

I have to say tho on the infant care, I don't think what we are getting is any better than somewhere else. So the price of infant care just pisses me off. I really have nothing to compare to on infant care bc N didn't start until 1 yo. But we don't get diapers, wipes food nothing. We have to bring everything and honesty I feel like the infant room itself is just ok and the ratio is 1:4 so it's not like the ratio is stellar either.

Yeah I pay $190 and $160 for my kids per week and that's at a school that had the state come in and specifically rate them as 5 star. I wish there were better at home options or ways of doing nanny share and matching you with people close to you.
ETA: and the price includes wipes, baby food/ regular food menu, and a music teacher and dance teacher that comes in regularly.

Sorry. That really sucks and I would take the meds too. I've got some lactation tea I need to give you too if you want.

No food even when the AAP says it's ok to feed them cereal and veggies/fruits if you want?

We have to bring in our own baby food/cereal. I know they get food made there when they move to the other side of the infant room.
Snot, high temp, just general fussiness. I thought sickness was supposed to get better in the spring/summer, I'm just not seeing that.
I took #2 in last weekend because she spiked a temp and was super fussy and it turned out to be infection in one ear and they gave her a steroid because she sounded croupy. Luckily fever broke the next day and wasn't contagious after that.

That's close to what I will pay, although tuition was just raised 10/wk this month so I'll be a little over that. I'm not sure what the infant room covers at our center. I should probably look into that.

I think it's a little unique that they cover baby food and they even provide formula. I think it's because it's a non profit and they get government food assistance for having a certain income levels.
