This is an old one... I smoked pot on a trip with H about 5 years ago. Somehow I didn't get high or at least it didn't feel any different. I'm not a smoker so I must not have inhaled correctly. But I breathed it in and coughed a lot. I'm lame and can't get high on pot!
MH is playing in a band at a festival tomorrow. He wants me to come but I don't want to go. It's an hour away and he'll be playing 4 songs that I've heard him play a million times. It doesn't seem worth it to find someone to watch the kids, drive 2 hrs round trip, etc. I guess I'm not being very supportive but the logistics kill it for me.
Sometimes I'm not the most supportive. Dh is going on a long trip to climb a big mtn. He asked me if he could go. I said sure, but then asked about life insurance. I feel so tacky even admitting I said that. Yep...I'm a jerk.

I think that's a fair question. My brother and SIL climb and we worry about what will happen to their kids if they ever have an accident. They have no will.
microworm , I felt that way about DH's gigs before we had kids to worry about. I hated driving an hour away, having to help lug stuff, them going on at least an hour late for only a short time and then driving home.
Susan0utLoud , the only reason I have seen LOTR movies is because of DH. I never would've bothered otherwise.
bliz1712 ,lecky11, if it was your first time smoking, it's pretty common to not feel anything. Not that I would know

microworm, DH actually hated performing for all of the same reasons. He loves playing music, writing music and band practice but disliked shows. He hasn't played with a band since DS was born. Band practice was in our basement so it was logistically challenging for awhile and then since he was out of the routine, he just never got back into it. Now that DS is older, I told him he could start up again but he doesn't seem to have interest.

I've deleted like 100 people off my debil in recent months.
Most recent because I made a post about Jake's ABA. Someone decided to say "He doesn't look autistic!". Then other people chimed in..."autism isn't real. Its a diagnosed parents give bratty kids, its the new fashionable thing" blah blah...
I may have called them all bitches while posting a meme.
Something like...
Oh, my child doesn't look autistic? Well you don't look like an idiot. Yet here we are.
lrmrtn I wouldn't mind if MH was in a stable band that had gigs semi regularly at local places. But what happens is that he gets asked to play a gig by one of his friends that also play music, he spends tons of time cramming in practice in the 2 weeks leading up to it, and then the inevitable comes up whenever dudes play music together..."We should start a band!" They are all about it for maybe a month or so and then it's over. Rinse, repeat. I'm over it.

That's really gross of them. What exactly is autism supposed to look like? Sorry you have to deal with those idiots..

babybarlow2014 - It's bad enough there are people so misinformed out there that they hold some of these opinions (your son doesn't look autistic), but to have the cojones to say it to you is so gross. I'm really sorry you've had to deal with that. You're way better off without those people.
Not really a confession for myself but still funny. A hookup from college texted me one night last week to tell me that I was still featured in his spank bank. I haven't talked to this guy since college. Delete.
I just realized my name is spelled wrong on my credit card. The one I've used for pretty much every single purchase since like January. And it's not just the more common spelling of my first name (I probably would have noticed that immediately) two letters are switched in my last name. I should probably get that fixed, right?

Keep it if you ever want to go on the lam The jobub alias.

I have, and use, a ccard with my maiden name still on it. I don't think I have a single ID with my maiden name still on it, so, good thing nobody ever asks for ID?

People actually ask for my ID a lot since i didn't sign the back of the card. My Kohls card still has my maiden name. Last time I wanted to use it to get a discount I didn't have it with me so they looked it up with my SSN and asked for my ID. I was actually kind of alarmed that they let me use it considering the name (and probably address) didn't match my ID and I didn't even have the physical card.
I hate door to door proseletyzing. And I do believe in the bible. Would also do.
what do they even hope to achieve?
I always hope that they're just a little bit rude or condescending or something to make me not feel so bad shutting the door in their face. I hate when they're nice I feel so guilty. I usually try to convince them I'm totes saved already so they should go spend their time on the neighbors.

Hmmm. Stores can easily write off the hits of people using fraudulent cards, but still, alarming. Not only do I not sign my cards, on many of them I specifically write, See ID... still, rarely do I get asked. Then again... now just about everywhere you swipe and walk away without even handing that card to anyone.

LOL this sounds eerily familiar... I think DH and his friends just used practice as an excuse to hang out and drink beer. They never played that many shows.

I just don't answer the door. If I don't know you, aren't expecting you, you aren't the UPS guy with my package or don't look like you are in fear for your life, don't expect me to answer.
