I have a caterer catering the luncheon after MIL's funeral tomorrow. Super simple sandwiches, fruit, veggie tray and coffee. This is the text in my contract:
"A staff person will be on hand to assist with the food so you may visit with your family and friends. We do this at no extra fees to our customers for memorial services, funerals and collation meals (our normal service is 18%). We do require that you please pay the server a cash tip that day for their time. Our service is for 1 1/2 hours. "
How much do I tip this person? I was thinking $40 for 1.5hours of worked seemed like a good tip. But then i second guessed myself. am I suppose to tip 20% of my bill instead? The food total is $340, but total bill with tax and delivery is $410. Am I screwing them over with $40? Should I be tipping $70 or $80? I'm confused what would M14 do?

I would have $80 bucks on hand but wait and see. If the person does an amazing job, cleans, serves etc and you are super happy I'd tip that much. If it's okay I'd take it down a bit or if they really don't do much.
