I'm here nursing baby while S1 plays a game on the ipad. No plans for this weekend except my mother in law is coming back for a little bit again today so my H will probably go to the gym then.
Other than that, just laundry, lots of laundry....

@lilybilly yes, so much laundry. Between spit ups and leaky boobs and leaky diapers and peeing on the changing table. And house guests for this week so extra sheets.
My mom and brother leave today. It has been really nice to have extra hands to pass baby to or entertain DD when I am busy taking care if him. It will be nice to have my space back though. For a week, before my sister and her FI come for a few days. I'm going to devote this next week before they come to getting DS off the nipple shield. It makes nursing while we are out so much harder. I have tried going out a few times with my family here and it was pretty stressful.
The laundry is unreal!! So much! Between diapers and 86 outfit changes a day-it never seems done! Plus we don't have a ton of newborn clothes so we are always washing!!!
I spent the day at my mom's yesterday and DS1 stayed for a sleepover. I got to sleep in with the baby and enjoy my coffee this morning so that was nice. No plans for the rest of the weekend yet.

We finally fit into all the NB diapers so our laundry has increased a lot which is good because I'm so sick of buying disposables. We are heading to my aunts cottage for the weekend, I have family down from Australia so I'm pretty pumped

cateyes we don't have a ton of newborn clothes either and I refuse to buy any because I feel like she will just outgrow them next week. So she's always in the same 5 onesies.
We have so many 0-3 summer clothes and they are just all so big. It's killing me!

We didn't sleep well last night so we're all crabby. DS had soccer practice this morning but even though he ran around for an hour straight, it didn't seem to tire him out. He insisted in the water table. After that he insisted on the sandbox. He was soooo gross. I hate that stupid sandbox.
I really give credit to anyone who has their big kids home all day while still taking care of the newborn. I can barely handle it on the weekend and DH is home to help. Maybe he's just a high energy kid but he's been difficult. He's in preschool during the week- which I originally felt bad about. But I feel like I can't handle the 2 of them by myself all day yet.
Gymnastics this morning and then playground and target. My longest outing yet with all three kids. It's definitely a new ballgame - like we're at the playground and the big kids are playing and I'm nursing the baby when DS tells me he needs to go poop . Lots of juggling....
After naps DH will take the big kids in the pool with some of our friends/neighbors who are going to come swim. After baths and dinner they'll go spend the night at my parents' condo. My parents go back to the east coast Wednesday so it's the end of weekend help! They won't be back till September.
Tomorrow will be busy - family and newborn photos in the morning, birthday party for one of DD's friends in the afternoon, and friends coming over to bring us dinner and stay and eat in the evening. Last night was not a great baby sleep night so hopefully tonight will be better.
The weather is gorgeous this weekend. We were going to go to the zoo this morning, but we got there 30 minutes after they opened and the 2 main lots were already full! So we ended up at a farm instead and then swam at our house.
I think we're going to try the zoo again tomorrow. We're members, so we can get in an hour early...we just need to get motivated to get out the door.
Hoping all this activity will help baby come along, but it doesn't seem like it!
lindsay, I went to a bachelorette party when DD1 was a few weeks old. I pumped in the back of the limo when everyone else went into a bar. Haha
Hey, my in laws are in town and my DD's 2nd birthday was yesterday so it's been a busy time around here.
I mentioned elsewhere that I was still in recovery mode. Turns out I have postpartum hypertension related to all that swelling that wasn't going away. I've sense been put on BP meds and a water pill. ::sigh:: I'm praying this gets resolved and it's. It something I have to manage long term.
panda how did you know you had hypertension? Was your blood pressure normal in the hospital after birth? Just wondering how to differentiate whether I have normal postpartum swelling or something more...

I'm glad your doc took you seriously and is treating it! My friend had that but had to go find a new doctor that would treat it. 😳 Hope you feel better soon and the swelling goes down.

panda, I also have postpartum hypertension and am on BP meds. My BP was low/normal all throughout pregnancy and then shot up after delivery. My swelling was gone once I left the hospital but BP remained high so I was put on meds and have regular BP checks. Hope yours improves soon!
Laundry was done here today as well. I put away all the newborn clothes and pulled out the 3 month things. A week ago the 0-3 month sleepers seemed very roomy, and now they fit quite well. He's growing so fast!

My blood pressure was normal after birth. I didn't know it was high, I actually thought I had a UTI so I scheduled a nurses appt for that and it was discovered then. I did have headaches along with a lot of swelling in my legs and feet that wasn't getting better. Still checking for UTI but they thought that my difficulty peeing was related to the fluid retention.
You could check your blood pressure at home or at a place that has a machine available if your swelling persists or you're worried. My Dr's office also has appts where you can just get your blood pressure checked, so that may be an option too if you want some reassurance.

This may sound ridiculous and selfish, but I'm insanely irritated with h. The entire time I was at the hospital, not a damn thing was done to clean up. Nothing. Not a dish washed, a vacuum turned on, clothing washed or put away, toy picked up, filthy kid bathed, or bed sheet changed. Now yes, we live on a farm we're trying to build up so there's a lot to do outside. I get it. However, my dad was here helping too. I came home to a complete dirty disaster, and a bathroom that makes a truck stop look like the Hilton. I really feel like I'm getting jipped on what could be my last newborn experience because rather than come home and snuggle, nurse, recover/heal, and enjoy my baby, I spent last night making a to do list and today cleaning on 4 extremely broken house of sleep. I had extreme ppd with ds1, and I'm afraid this is going to turn into that. I look around and all I can see is 100 things I need to do. Sorry to be Debbie downer. I just can't believe after watching me give birth, he still doesn't get that my body went through a major trauma and I shouldn't be expected to jump right back into super mom status.

maggie6424 that's sooo frustrating! I don't even know what I would do. You shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm lucky (?) that mess doesn't bother me because my house is a disaster right now and I'm ignoring it. Try to take care of the important stuff if you can and let the little stuff go.
maggie6424,I don't think you are being ridiculous at all. I'm sorry your H hasn't stepped up to take care of the house. You shouldn't have to worry about cleaning anything right now. Get your rest and take that to do list and hand it right to him for him to take care of. I think you should definitely let him know how you are feeling though because keeping these kinds of things inside can turn into resentment. I hope he realizes he dropped the ball and makes it up to you. Hope you are recovering well and congrats on the new little one!
maggie6424 I would definitely be having a talk with my DH about that. Not vacuuming or scrubbing the bathroom is understandable. It's unacceptable though to not clean up his own mess or the kids. I would expect dishes to be done and my kid to be bathed. I'll also admit though that I only change everyone's sheets every couple weeks unless someone has puked or something
We had our photos this morning. We should have taken two cars so that after the first 30 min of family and sibling pics, DH could have taken the big kids home - since it then took awhile to get the baby sleepy enough for all the newborn pics and then they lasted another two hours. DH was thrilled .
Really I don't feel too bad for him though since I brought an iPad loaded with Paw Patrol and snacks and all he really had to do was sit there and play on his phone for two hours.
I think we got some really great pics. I'm already worried that I'm going to want more of them than the 10 digitals that came with the already ridiculously expensive package I picked...

sdlaura the sheets were filthy because ds1 had a pee through his night pull up. our bed was filthy because it seems everyone went outside, rolled in the dirt, then sat on my bed. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been an issue. I definitely don't change the sheets more than every other week unless necessary!
I wish I could just let it go. I have wet clothes in the washer that have to be hung, but before I can do that I have to put away all the clothes on the drying rack. I had to re-wash the load because I started it the day I went into labor and of course nobody else would've checked so it sat there since Wednesday. Mess doesn't really bother me, it's more filth. Sink full of dishes I can live with until it has been too many days.

maggie6424 that is very frustrating, you have every right to be upset! Starting at 37 weeks I became slightly obsessive about having everything in the house cleaned up before bed and not letting any laundry build up in case I went into labour because I know that my husband would not do it. Thankfully he was barely at home while I was in the hospital and DS stayed at my ILs, so all I had to do when I came home was put some dishes in the dishwasher. I hate coming home to a messy house in general so I tend to do the same thing even when we're just going away for a day or two.

maggie6424, I'm sorry your H didn't do anything around the house while you were in the hospital and isn't doing much now. That would be super frustrating!
