Hoping for any guidance or similar experiences and outcomes. I recently underwent IVF and had high positive Betas after my transfer so they wanted to do ultrasound at 5w4d to see if the embryo split but my ultrasound showed one normal yolk. 6 hours after having this transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) though I had spotting, it was sudden small burst of brown and pink. In a panic I took a little tissue and pushed up there to see if there was more, got probably a drops worth of bright red blood. Both were no more than a tissue squares worth. My ultrasound tech didn't warn me this would happen so I called RE asap, hoping they would say it's just from the wand and cervix being more sensitive (had read online this happens). My nurse said it could be from that, it could be from something else, but wasn't quick to say this happens all the time or anything. She immediately wanted me to start progesterone injections in addition to my estrace and progesterone pills to "help support a healthy pregnancy" (which I have no problem with and did start last night). She said to come back in 1 week for another ultrasound because I had spotting and if it gets any worse like filling a pad to go to ER. Strangely, I have had zero bleeding since. I'm convinced it was from the TVS. Has anyone else had this happen and what happened in that pregnancy after? Did you ever have another TVS ultrasound again? I fell into a deep hole of online blogs from people who miscarried immediately after having TVS very early in pregnancy (even though I know a lot of women do TVS and have no spotting, I had plenty prior to transfer no issue). I know doctors say it's safe but now I'm very hesitant to have another one. I'm going to talk to my doctor, but part of me thinks why risk it just wait until I'm far along enough to do abdominal ultrasound (I think 8 weeks?). The other part of me really wants to know if things are okay since there was brief spotting. Just seems weird I had zero spotting prior, had a very normal ultrasound, and then spotting on that same day after unless it's related and I'm worried the next time the bleeding might not stop. Any advice is welcome!!
