Today I have the gym and then running a few errands. I have one more present to wrap. Then I can clean up all the wrapping stuff, which is sprawled out around my dinning room and living room. I do kind of get a break because DH's side of Christmas isn't for a few more weeks (due to traveling). So I don't even have to think about his side!
Today I'm home with the boys, cleaning and folding laundry. Just put the boys down for a nap. Going to the gym later, and hopefully tonight I can do some meal planning. We've been really bad at that lately.
I'm feeling very blessed tonight. Thinking that all of my stressors and "problems" are... not. Trying to instill to the girls this very idea but it's hard. I think the angel tree just went right over their heads.

G has been obsessed with the song Fly Like an Eagle by Seal, but we ended up in a super serious conversation about the line “feed the children who don’t have enough to eat” - it’s still a concept he can’t fathom, I think, but one day he will. He knows we bring food to church for those who are hungry or can’t afford to go to the grocery store like we do, but I guess he never thought those people could be kids?

Oh I remember now, about the song. The line is about feeding babies who don’t have enough to eat. G couldn’t understand why their mothers weren’t nursing them. So we talked about kids who don’t have mothers. Also about families without enough food. It was way heavier than I was prepared for at bedtime this week.
lilyelayne haha. I think it is good to talk about things even if they don't get the scope of it yet! They will one day, like you said, and hopefully be better people for it.
Today HVAC came to do our preventative maintenance for fall/winter. Yeah, we booked too late...haha. so I cleaned up the downstairs while having to be home. And then A and I made Gingerbread Play dough. Smells so good! We are going to the grocery store tonight for holiday food shopping that I can't do at Costco. It's getting close guys!

dreemkin for some reason, live trees around here didn’t last this year. Everyone I know who got a live tree reports it had already died. My nephews told me they can’t turn on their lights so their house doesn’t catch on fire, but if it did catch on fire, they would come live with me.

I was supposed to go to the grocery today, but G asked to stay home & it was raining anyway, so I was happy to agree. I’ve been doing laundry & cleaning. I’m taking a quick trip down to NoLa this weekend to meet an internet friend (F15!) while she’s in town, and I was just going to take J but now I’m feeling guilty like I should take G, too. But I don’t want to wait on DH to get off work Friday, so it would be just me and the two kids. G has been a bit of a terror lately, but he’s been so good today. Maybe he really did just need more time with me, like he claimed.
lilyelayne that's cool! Who are you meeting up with? If you think it'd go smoother with just J, I would go the less stressful route! But I'm sure your be able to make it work with both.

There are definite pros & cons either way. It’s a hard decision. G is in a huge momma phase, so a weekend with daddy will either be just what they need or a complete disaster.
We donated tonight at the grocery store to feed a family for Christmas. N still was confused even though we explained it the best we could. Oh well.
When the kids are a little older I’m going to bring them to volunteer at the local food bank. I have strong memories of doing that as a kid & through my teen/college/pre-parenthood. Maybe something like that can help her understand too.
Took the boys to the mall today, they had a little model train show and the boys loved it. DH and I did the bulk of our Christmas shopping tonight, just a bit to finish now, gift cards.
My sweet early Christmas surprise came 6 years ago! She is very excited for today. Her birthday dessert request was a peanut butter cup (they're stuck in a rut) vanilla cake. So I modified that yummy recipe I have shared on here for the reeses pb cup cupcakes. And she will get purple frosting. She picked going out for "pizza and garlic bread" at Home Run Inn tonight. I can't wait to blow my diet. I'm struggling with that lately. Surprisingly not because of holiday treats. Because I have not made progress, weight wise, for a whole week. I wanted to throw the scale this morning. I don't understand. Hopefully it's because Aunt Flo is coming soon... 🤦♀️
Are you tracking your measurements too, or just weight?
Thanks! Just weight which is probably why I'm frustrated but I should be seeing it on the scale as I'm not small to begin with. It just seems like a lot of hard work for such little result 😢
Sorry for the diet struggles, also. They say when you plateau it's a good time to switch up your workout routine and try a new exercise out. Does your gym have classes where you can mix things up a bit?
kartish that's a good idea. I don't have time in my schedule to do classes. But I could switch up the machines I do there! I just am going to stick with my diet because up til now I've been happy with my progress. I've lost 15lbs in 9 week. I think that's pretty good.
Migraine has taken me out today. I made it through the zoo this morning but it's been a rough afternoon. I am in bed half watching a miracle on 34th Street, while my h and bil are out in the town.
