lilyelayne I don't think this is stable and would like to start something else! Congrats to your friends! That's so nice of you to make them food!
I realize i didn't really update from the weekend. Sat was H and I's 13 year dating anniversary. Seems like a long time but not a long time iykwim. We are going to go out to eat whenever my sis can take the girls next for a sleepover. Saturday night H and N went to a daddy/daughter dance that the school had. It seemed really nice and they looked adorable. H coordinated his outfit to match N's dress. I will insert a pic. They had a good time. My sister c amr over that night and her, A, and I played Mario kart.
Yesterday we went to eat for my dad's birthday! And back to my house for brownies and coffee. Today is back to the grind. Grocery shopping and all that. I think I'm going to get take the girls to get their blood drawn today so it's off my to-do list (screening for hemochromatosis which is in my husband's family). Tonight I'm making waikiki meatballs, one of our faves. A lot of work but totally worth it in the end!
Game night last night but I was very low energy all day yesterday that I couldn't really get my head into anything. But I'm feeling better today and after work V really wanted to go for a bike ride. I hope the weather is decent so we can go out for more than just around the block.

kartish glad you’re feeling better! Hope the weather was nice.
dreemkin cute pic! There were lots of daddy/daughter dance pics on social media this weekend. This wasn’t a thing when I was a kid. Do schools hold them? Churches? (ETA- I reread your post and see yours was at school!)
Lily, it just started becoming a thing (around my area at least) when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I still have fond memories of going once with my dad! I remember when there used to be take your daughter to work day to promote gender equality in the work force. All three of us went with my dad to work. Now it is take you kid to work day. So maybe the special daddy/daughter thing evolved to a dance. They also have mommy/son outings by me too. They are usually sports related which is a little cliche (gender role steryotyping?) IMO. Both are, actually, but Norah liked it and she got to have a special night with Dad so it's all good I guess.
ETA: check your park district programs if you are interested. Ours does this too, as well as the school districts. I guess the park district is a mother/son sock hop this year
