What are factors that I should check into for storage?

Hello mothers here,
I have a child who is 3 years old. She is a bit naughty. I was planning to keep her old toys away from her. Initially, I thought of disposing them. But later I thought I can store them for a while so that my second baby can use it. I got this idea from my friend who did a year ago. She stored her son's almost all the toys for one year and once her second baby was born she brought it back. I called her today to know about it. She told that she stored them in self-storage in Markham. She told me to inquire about the price for the same. She thinks it is bit expensive, I am planning for the same if the rate is comfortable. What are factors that I should check into? If someone did the same please share your experience.
