Hola. We had a cookout last night with the neighborhood and it was a blast.
New neighbors down the street have a trampoline and I am not a fan :/
Otherwise I am letting tv parent a bit today while my eyelids close because they just wouldn't stay open. We head to in laws on Thursday so I should be getting stuff organized for that. Ha oh well.
I love Mark Ruffalo (13 going on 30 💗). Fun fact, he grew up in the same town that my Aunt lived. She says she remembers the family.
This week I am just preparing for Norah to go to 1st grade. Today was a normal day of grocery and laundry. At Costco, I got N a set of new shirts so she can wear one for the 1st day of school! And I also cracked and got a box of drumstick ice creams (they WERE on sale) to say farewell to summer. I am feeling very grateful today, that we can go to the store and not have to worry about slipping a few extra things into the cart! #soblessed
Tonight I'm making a Czech dish, Šunkofleky. It can be made as a casserole but I just make it on the stove as like a skillet like my mom does. It's so simple but tastes delicious - ham, celery, onion, noodles (egg noodles usually), butter, salt and pepper. I usually make this after a holiday when we have leftover ham, but H requested it so I just bought a little piece of cooked ham at Costco.
aggiebug trampolines and jumpy houses are not my favorite and I try to avoid them. They cause a lot of cases of brain injury/damage and broken bones/noses. I just don't think it's worth the risk. I look crazy to a lot of parents if I say that though... Oh well, those can be life altering injures!!

Yep I agree. I will allow them under close supervision and for short periods of time, I don't care that my rules are on the strict side it's just not worth the risk. Unfortunately like last night I was the only one who told my kids no and S was devestated, rightfully so. Things progressed to everyone playing at the house nextdoor which was fine but apparently they all decided to go back to the trampoline which is where my husband found the kids. I can't expect S to not follow peer pressure at this point she is 4. We talked about it today but it's just going to make things tougher around the neighborhood which is a bummer.
Today is N's open house. That's all that's really going on. Tonight: bath and getting to bed early for school 😭😭😭 I've been going to the gym at night when I can, so maybe that again tonight too.
Norah's 1st day of 1st grade today 😭 H took off to do the drop off/pick up with us. N was so happy to see her friends! Since it is a half day, we are taking her to lunch and she picked Olive Garden for pasta haha. Soup, salad, & breadsticks - here I come!
We still have a few weeks left. I’m taking the last two weeks of August off with the girls. LO is starting kindergarten so that will be exciting. This week they are away at my parents place. Not gonna lie, it’s a nice break. I make all these plans to get stuff done around the house but then only accomplish a few things. Lol.
This weekend we are off camping for a few days at Sandbanks. I’m very excited bc I’ve wanted to go here since I was a kid.
mishka29 I'm having a brainfart. Does your LO start kindergarten early where you live? Or are your kids really close in age? Regardless, sending them off to kindergarten is a tough day (hugs)! Enjoy the rest of their break! Hope you love it there!
I'm going to keep going on this thread for the week. How is everyone?
We are okay here. Gatsby has had this ongoing bladder infection that were still dealing with. I am not feeling great today. I have a (I think) lymph node that's swollen behind my ear and it hurts. I'm also feeling emotional which I'm thinking is because I'm fighting a bug. I ordered some gifts off of shopdisney today and forgot to use the free shipping code and cried... weird reaction for me. I was able to get the shipping charge taken off btw! Raining and gloomy today as well. Hopefully things will look up as the week goes on.
Hola we are home from a trip to the in laws. It's never long enough for them and always too long for us (per my husband ha). We get bored at their house honestly not much to do and they don't seem to jive well with the kiddos schedules (fil bikes until 10 am on Saturday which eats up over half of our prime do something hours for example). But we had fun and I know they are glad we visited so it's worth it. Next up my family end of next month, that one I will do solo.
I am trying to get the house tidied up today as I have a mom friend coming over tomorrow. I don't care that much but basic tidiness would be nice and after a roadtrip clean up too. Hopefully my children won't feel like I am trying to torture them when it comes to cleaning up their toys, they have been prepped all day...
aggiebug I know how that goes. My ILs don't want to get going for the day until late and by then it's a weird time food-wise or places are too busy to enjoy.
Things have been out of sync here lately. DH started a new job, and also started a part time job, filling in for a past job that is going through a rough tone filling positions. Its temporary, thank goodness, cause I don't think he thought it'd be so rough.
Other than that I'm trying to get ready for a yard sale and the bug guy's visit.

Sorry things are out of sync and jobs are rough for h right now. I hope it settles out soon.
Today is much of the same. Maybe feeling a bit better?? Pain behind ear is still there though. Today I'm going to launder and put back together the guest bed and pack n play. My sis and nephew are coming in a few days. And I'm going to clean the girls' bathroom which serves as the guest bathroom too. Those are my goals.
My playdate cancelled so another free morning here. I am trying to work up the energy to get the kids to the library but they are being stinkers and I don't feel like fighting them that much. Instead I am looking through my cookbook from the library while they play.
I have been so sluggish all week. I need to get it in gear! Good news is I’ve still been doing the chores, working out, and fending off the ants that came in our kitchen 😩
We’re having the nephews for a sleepover tomorrow night so SIL can go watch friends at a CrossFit regional. Interested to see if they end up in separate bedrooms (there are 3 upstairs) or the same bedroom.
House is cleaned and now I just have to go to two different grocery stores... Sis and nephew will be here today. This afternoon we have Anna's Opthamologist follow up, for those perlescent bumps on the white of her eyes. I can't believe it's already been 6 months since we went initially.
Oh and also because it's been a while since I've had a normal week structure:
Last I got to check off a line on my bucket list. I saw Sting in concert!! It was aaaaamazing. I cried (during parts). He sounded so good!
For the last couple years we've started doing "sisters nights" once a year which have been concerts at Ravinia - a popular outdoor music venue. This year I couldn't resist seeing one of my favorites. My dad had a wonderful musical influence on us growing up, listening to a variety of music and keeping up with the times. I always loved Sting and The Police. He has a voice of an angel lol. And I'm sorry, I know he's old but he's HOT!
That looks amazing dreemkin! I bet it was an amazing show!
We crammed in a last minute family yard sale and a mini pool party at the house yesterday. It all went well, I wish we had had more business at the sale, for my mom and sister's sake anyway.
The mini pool party is something V has been asking for all summer, and with fall right around the corner I figured we better just go ahead while it's still hot enough. V and A both had a good time, and I got to see DH get dunked by our niece with a bucket full of water

Yup LO is starting next week. Kids start kindergarten here at 4 (or the year you turn 4). She’s beyond excited. She familiar with the school and the teachers bc we are always going there for her sister. She is going into grade one. We’ve been reading lots of Junie B books in preparation. (A funny 6 year old going into grade 1).
Camping was great last week. The weather was perfect. This week I get the stay at home mom experience. I find myself shopping on amazon a lot so far for things to fix or organize the house. So helpful but expensive.
Dh is waiting to hear back about a new job. It’s with a big and awesome company and close to home. But if he gets it, then it means saying goodbye to his bonus (again) bc he’s leaving just before it’s given out. He wasn’t really even looking but he also happens to hate his boss so... ugh. I always say you gotta enjoy the work you do.
