My uncle is visiting us from Vegas and I feel the need to entertain him even though all I want to do is stay home in my pjs. P screams in the car and it's so frigid outside--let's just stay home and watch D run around the house trying to get his monkey stuck on the ceiling fan. We don't see each other often, but a part of me is counting down until the end of his visit so I can get back into my routine. I am awful.
So I had that growth removed from my lip yesterday and my lip swelled up something awful (it's still pretty bad today too). Well I had it removed at 10am and then planned on going back to work. It legit looked like I was punched in the mouth, repeatedly, that's how bad it was and I had no idea how I was going to go about the rest of the day at work. I snuck back into my office and closed my door for the next two hours and worked. Well, Thursday's are the day that I go to our warehouse in the afternoon so I emailed the manager out there and just explained I wouldn't be able to make it and he was fine with it. I then packed up all my stuff and just went home. I am assuming that everyone else just thought I went to the warehouse like usual. I ended up going home, laid on my couch, and watched TV for the rest of the day so I wouldn't have to see anyone. I also didn't pick up Henry until 5pm like usual. I did have my computer and answered emails/checked for voice-mails so it wasn't like I completely stopped working or anything.

laurski81, I used to do that when I was in sales all the time. No one cared as long as you hit your number and returned emails / phone calls. You do you, boo.
I literally had one this morning and already forgot it. But like vanessalc, I also plan to do homework at work today. I have a really busy day, but I have prepped and should be done with everything by about 2. After that, it's finance and econ time.

My H and I are talking about selling our current house and building a new one next year. While I'm excited to move, I know we'll be far enough away that we'll have to put Riley in a different daycare/preschool. Nothing is even close to being finalized and yet I still tear up every time I think about taking her away from her friends. I'm such a freaking sap.

The thought of taking Anna out of her current daycare and putting her in Pre-K makes me want to puke! That's not even until she is closer to 4! I know the feeling.

I hear ya, and honestly I am salaried and always, ALWAYS, am available even after working hours and weekends and always respond to people even though I know I should just "turn it off" and wait until I am back in the office. I put in more then enough of my own time to work that I should be able to have a little flexibility for when shit happens and I look like this:
And on another note...people actually pay to look like this? JFC

Another confession. I actually watched this episode and it was hilarious. I think she had some kind of allergic reaction, if I remember correctly.
I started a load of towels yesterday and realized that I used my towel for almost 2 weeks before washing it
I've done that before - where I used the same towel and when I stopped to think about it one day I couldn't remember the last time I grabbed a new one. I was disgusted with myself! I usually only use the same towels (1 body, 1 hair) for a couple of days.
laurski81, I totally would have done the same thing.... no shame.
summergirl1211 - where do you want to build? There is a new development near where you are (I only vaguely know where you live) that my friend has a new house in... it would still be near-ish to where you are now.... might be out of your price range, since I know nothing about your current home or how much you can afford, haha!

trixi282, We want to move to a better school district than we're currently in, but not go too far away. So most likely Lakeville, AV or Rosemount. There are tons of new developments right now and several within our price range. But we wouldn't be building for at least a year, so I have no idea what developments will still have openings then. I want to try and check out some houses during the Parade of Homes if we can.
I'm curious to see where you guys end up! Have you started your house hunt officially yet?
My supply is like super tanking. I basically only pump twice a day and get half of what I was getting (if that). I know I could probably do a lot to get it back up, but I'm just so over pumping that I'm not that upset about it. I have over 1000 oz frozen and she is now eating purees 2x a day so I'm thinking about just throwing in the towel. The thing I'm most upset about is that I'm going to have to start watching what I eat! Bad mommy :/

Damn girl, you've done great! That's an amazing stash!

I am a little sad Gage is so upset about going back to daycare. He always has a blast, but drop off is really hard still. We are sending him a half day next week and then two days the week after. I can't wait to have a couple days alone with Ellison before I go back to work even though Gage will be upset.
My H has been awesome the past couple days with helping when he gets home from work because I've been so sick. my FFC is that I REAAALLLY don't want him to get this cold because a) it really is a bad one and sucks bad b) he's a man so it will be 10000% times worse and I don't want another Whiney person to take care of lol!
summergirl1211, we are actually in the process of setting up an apt with a mortgage broker this weekend/next week to get the preapproval process started. We are currently trying to decide what to do about a realtor. I have one friend who recommended someone that she loved - but they're up in Wayzata and we want to look in the south metro mainly. Another person (sister of a friend) gave me her realtors info, but she just used a guy from her church and said "yeah he was knowledgeable and nice". Hmm, ok.
I would rather like to avoid just walking into a real estate office and getting the first joe shmo we run into like we did in VA when we started looking (which didn't work out). We ended up with an idiot who drove me nuts. Then we used a referral from someone and had a much better experience (even though we ended up not buying back then).
All that to say we're looking south metro. AV/B'ville/Eagan/Bloomington mostly... I am open to N. L'ville, but don't want to go too far south with having to commute to SP now and Mpls come fall!

trixi282, not that you asked...but I will give you my 2cents on Realtor hunting anyway since I am just coming off of the experience of buying/selling In my experience (bought and sold twice in 3 years) any schmuck can find you a house and negotiate a contract. The real work begins AFTER you are under contract, so they key is to find a Realtor who is responsive, available, and essentially a project manager. With negotiating repairs, lining up inspections, appraisals, surveys, etc, you want someone that can handle all of that for you with no fuss or muss on your end. Also someone with good contacts for contractors, inspectors, etc. is nice.
Basically you want someone who responds to your texts/emails/calls right away - same day because when you get under contract you need them to be flexible and willing to show up whenever you need them in case inspectors have to re-schedule, electricians can only come on a particular day, etc. If you have a hard time nailing them down while just looking for a house - find someone else! Anyway - good luck and happy hunting!

I was going to sneak some ice cream after H went to bed last night (sneaking not because he cares what I eat, but because I didn't want to share my Ben and Jerrys peanut butter cookie core). I put it on the counter to soften a little while I watched TV. Of course, I fell asleep watching TV and didn't wake up until 5am. My ice cream was completely melted. And I still ate like a quarter of it before I threw it away.
I just stuffed my face with Wendy's and now I'm going to Party City for leftover Valentine's day candy. I have ZERO intentions of sharing with co workers

I'm so bored and sick of winter that I took Cosette to a mcdonalds play place and parked my butt for 2 hours. I hate mcdonalds but it's free and toddler friendly. Lame. I feel really trashy today.
We were supposed to go to Disneyland today, but since I am dealing with a horrible UTI and peeing every 5 min, we are not going. Poor LO keeps asking to go and I am trying to convince her that it might rain, so Mickey's house is closed. She keeps saying the "shiny" is out mommy, there's no rain. I am a bad lier!

I'm working from home today and my computer fan has been making a ton of noise all week. My computer now no longer starts. Oh damn, I guess I need to start the weekend early!
I am the judgiest bitch ever (thats more common knowledge, not the FC):
Its cold here in GA. Not catastrophically cold, but fucking cold. Schools have been closed all week due to cold. I'm sorry but 30 degrees is not a reason to cancel school! Don't people have to go to work!?
There was a thread on a local board and parents were all freaking out because they didn't want to have to leave their Special Snowflakes at the bus stop in the cold. Dear Idiots: bundle them up. Don't want them in the cold? Drive them to the bus stop and have them wait in the car. Don't want to wait? Drive them to school.
One moron was actually saying that people in GA don't own coats or boots, so schools need to stay closed. Excuse me bitch, gloves and hats are warm and cheap. Get 3 sweaters at OUAC for $15 and a jacket for $8--its less costly than staying home from work for 4 days while schools close. Your inability to plan ahead or properly dress your child is not a reason to petition for schools to close.
Also, schools have heat. The worst that happens is your Snowflake makes a mad dash from the car to the school's door, and spends the day soaking up the heat, no coat needed.
