On Friday night, one of my wisdom teeth broke. A big ass chunk fell right out of the middle/front of it and my cheek is all sorts of torn up on the inside from rubbing against it. I can't go to the dentist yet because nobody's available to help with DD...and I have no money to cover my co-pay until my tax return comes (sometime next week). I have a piece of sugarless gum wrapped around the tooth to keep it from further injuring me.
Yikes! That's no joke! I hope you can get it taken care of soon!

Could you swing by the dentist and get some wax from them, like they give people with braces that are rubbing? Do they even still do that?
They sell it at CVS too so I may do that after work so I can stop using gum. Everything I eat tastes like mint!

emmaswan Ouch!!! I hope you can get it fixed quickly. I second stopping by your dentist for some wax to keep it covered. They may even sell it at drugstores. I used it often when I had braces!

Also I just logged into our bank account and saw a higher balance than I was expecting and thought it was our state tax return! But it was just DH's paycheck from last week and the mortgage payment just hasn't cleared yet. BOO.
Our fucking SUV is pouring power steering fluid. It's had a slow leak for awhile but our mechanic told us to wait until it was worse. Now it's worse like whoa. I'm adding power steering fluid every 5-10 miles. I called and it's going to cost between $1,500-$2,500 to fix it. OMG. We still owe $4500 on it (we borrowed against it for a loan a few years ago). It's got 112,000 miles. I'm ready to just get a new vehicle. Ugh.
Over the weekend, MH left some important and temperature-sensitive stuff in the vehicle overnight (I had taken LO in to bed but he had awaken). I don't know what the temperature got down to, but it was already -5 actual temperature plus very windy when we got home that evening. I was not pleased. How hard is it to glance around the vehicle to see if you missed anything? They were all in one bag together, not scattered in random nooks and cracks, and he had put the bag in there so should have known it was there.
I thought as a SAHM I would dislike Monday less, but now it is just the day that I am overwhelmed with all the things that need to be done because I spent the weekend doing things with DH and LO. How does that happen? It's only two days of stuff....
I'm always amazed at how rapidly things accumulate and deteriorate around here. Mondays are always my busiest days, and I hate it.

emmaswan ouch! Hopefully your return arrives before you expect it to, and you can get your tooth taken care of. I had no idea CVS sold that wax stuff, but that's good to know. I used it all the time with my orthodontic work, and loved it!

I think I'm PMSy, my kid is being especially difficult and it's been going on since last week, and now I"m irrationally annoyed that the only progress update I see on my Gymboree order is that the shipping info/label was received by UPS. Not that she's going to be able to wear most of what I ordered until it warms up anyway, but dammit I want my package!

My moan is that I'm back at school today after having a week of for snow. My students are crazy chatty today. I'm also exhausted because in the past 2 weeks I've only worked 3 days.

waffles, I'm sorry about your car problems. DH's car has been "needing a clutch" for 3 years now and he is still driving it with the same clutch. He definitely takes the wait until it gets worse approach to things.
emmaswan I hope you are able to get your tooth fixed sooner than later. DH broke a molar and they filed it down for him. He still needs a crown for it, but we are waiting. Crowns are expensive!

I try to catch up as much as I can Sunday night because Mondays stink here too. Last night I folded wash and took it upstairs, but didn't get to put it away. I still have to sweep the kitchen, vacuum the living room, and run the dishwasher on top of putting the laundry away.

emmaswan Reminded me of another moan. I have to call our new dentist to see when I can set up the first appointment. I have some fillings that need to be done, but have to go through all the x-ray stuff and exam before I see what they want to do. I wish we could've kept the dentist we had, but they were an hour away and the dental insurance we have now was cheaper.

I get excited when I see the balance after DH's paycheck hits and then I realize I have to pay the mortgage and daycare from it. *poof*

Our neighbors wanted to trim the huge eucalyptus tree in our front yard (it's our tree but overhangs the fence as we live in an urban area that was built up in the 70s and each lot is about 6000 sq ft so overhanging trees are the norm). We agreed to trim it only because they wanted to so we split the cost. They did it over the weekend while we were OOT. OMG, it looks awful on their side. They trimmed it totally bare. Our side still has some leaves and looks okay, but their side looks totally naked. Like 4 huge trunks going straight up and no leaves at all. I'm so disappointed. We want to sell our house in the next 6 months (we aren't telling any neighbors that we want to move to a better neighborhood with better schools so they don't judge us) and I really hope some foliage grows back on their side quickly.

In theory, I'd love to be able to do something like that so I didn't have quite as much to do on Mondays. Realistically, it rarely happens. Especially right now because of Downton Abbey.

This is probably dumb to complain about but I am having an epically bad hair day. I am still getting used to styling my new cut and today I wanted to see what it looked like air dried with no product. Bad news bears! Fine if I am not leaving the house but I definitely need to put a little more effort into it to look cute and not like a dude.

I think this a valid complaint. I can never re-create the look the salon made. They need to teach real life application.

Ha! So true. My stylist was really good and explained each step but I still can't mimic it.
Ugh that sucks emmaswan. Tooth pain is the worst, and so damn expensive.
Talking about FWP, I can't stop buying DD new shoes. I keep finding cute stuff on sale and buying them all. At least some of them are different sizes, since her feet still grow so fast. Being stuck inside with all this snow is not helping my bank account!

My FWP/Monday Moan - DH uses my room to throw all of the stuff in that he doesn't want cluttering up our communal area. It's my "extra" room and it just looks like a storage unit right now. I want to do some awesomeness with it, but by the time I get it organized DH is stashing more stuff in there. I never get ahead on it and it stresses me out. I've just started closing the door so I don't have to look at it.
I have a pile of work to do and I feel frozen, like a deer in the headlights.
Ugh! I hate that feeling. Especially because it by definition happens when it is the last thing you neer. Bugs, hope you find the way to get on without it soon.
I'll be home late tonight (11.15) and I need to be up by 6.30 to go teach/lecture and I coupe be better prepared. Makes me nervous, which of course won't give me more sleep.
