LO has two soft baby dolls that she lives. One or both of them are in her crib at night. She also gets really excited to get in her crib when she sees it. She also wakes up & plays with it for awhile in the mornings. I'd like to give her a blanket but she moves too much at night & it wouldn't stay on her.
LO has about 6 pacis, a blanket folded and laid out on each end of the crib for some pillow cushion if he wants. He has 3 stuffed animals in the crib. They usually stay in the corners, but occasionally he will snuggle with one. He has an extra blanket in there if he wants, but doesnt usually use it.
bennieangel - literally a dozen?? LO has 3 or 4, but maybe we need to up it! (Most nights it seems to get her through, but occasionally she's pissed and all of them are on the floor.)
Probably close. Maybe 8-10? Spread out so no matter where he is he can find one - it's our secret to getting him to sleep longer periods (for instance he just woke up & fussed for 2 min found a paci & went back to sleep). Sometimes when he gets pissed he does chuck them all out & I have to go replace them.
Same thing over here. Probably 10. When he gets pissed they end up on the floor. the worst is when he throws them all out and can't soothe himself any more and just screams and screams. I am on a mission to phase out the paci, i see how much he "needs" it and don't want him to be that 3 year old constantly sucking on a paci
We've got about 10 paci's a small teddy in the corner and i have a few times put a small blanket on him. I put him in really warm footy pj's but's it's been darn cold here some nights (-15) and the heat goes down in our house to about 62 at night.I think even if i wanted to keep a blanket o him he'd kick it off. he circles the crib at night and never stays in one place
We only use the pacifier in the crib and if needed in the car (after 20 minutes in the car, she loses her shit). I am not even sure why it would be needed outside of sleep times. If she gets fussy then she is usually tired and we put her in her crib for a nap. Sometimes her babbles sound disgruntled, but I wouldn't want her to suck on a pacifier over grumbling.
T refuses to search for her pacifier at night - most of the time she turned her head and its right on the other side. I don't know if it is worth having her completely wake up from crying for it in order to see if she will find it. I just go in there if her crying persists for a minute or so.

bsouls t loves his he would have it all the time if I let him. But some times if he's upset (bumped his head or some thing) then it helps to calm him so I use it then too.
bennieangel My T loves the paci, too - but, we make her hand it to us before getting out of the crib. It is pretty stinking cute when she takes it out and holds it up to us before we even ask for it.
I have only used the pacifier twice for head bumps. I clap, blow on her face and if those don't work then usually a watching a video on my phone of her splashing in the bath does the trick. She also really loves a video of my mom talking to her.
I really don't get what is so great about sucking on a pacifier, especially when a kid is two or so.
@jjsmom I'm working on not having him use it except for bedtime & car time. I'll deal with those times later.
LO is soooo oral. She doesn't have it ALL the time, but she has her pacifier a lot. Sometimes I use it to distract her from wanting something else in her mouth (ahem, my boob). I'm thinking around a year will try to transition to just letting her have it for crib and car. But we'll see...

nattybumppo, mine too!! He's fine without it during play time, but if he sees one he pops it in his mouth, so I'm just trying to keep them in the crib & one available in the play area for if he gets hurt or something. The car seat? I would rather have a peaceful car ride....
I'm sure we'll have a hell of a time weaning from the paci later...
I attached a paci to the shoulder pad of my car seat with one of those paci leashes (not sure what they are called). it is always there and LO knows how to find it. we spend a ton of time in the car and she rides so nice if she can find her paci

Well, I have a 3 year old who pacifies with her fingers. I actually wonder more how I'll wean from that. I sucked my thumb for quite awhile....5? Maybe longer? Paci weaning may be brutal, but at least you can just throw them away. I haven't even looked into finger weaning yet... Maybe that's why I'm not so concerned about this LO having a pacifier...
bennieangel, I'm trying the same path. Paci at bedtime, naptime and in the car seat only for now. My husband tends to give in quicker than i do, but you gotta start somewhere!
T is still in a PNP in our room!!! My control issues at fault. But she is sleeping on a flat pillow with a blanket that is tucked into her mattress. She kicks the blanket off and rolls onto her belly during the night, bit she always wakes up around 1am to get in our bed.
DS sleeps with a blanket, 2 pacis, a bunch of loves, a sock monkey, and he's been using his small pillow pet lately.
Yep, flame away......
He's had a blanket since birth except in the summer because of how cold it is up here.
I'll make you feel better..
3 blankets, a panda bear that makes noise, two dragon paci's, Sully (monster inc), Donald duck, and a pillow..
I keep taking it all out but it all winds back up in there because the kid wont sleep. He literally balls the blankets up and lays under one, on the other two head on the pillow sully in one hand, Donald on the other and keeps the panda in reach so he can turn it on. And of course paci's are in his mouth.

@notyourmom DS is that way to, if I take it away we have a super crappy night. I figure by now he's got the control and he moves around so much that it's NBD. Plus the lovies usually end up in the corners of the crib and the blankets at his feet.
